Hi, have any of you been to a beach with black sand? I was once on one in Tenerife and it was incredible! El Bolullo Beach, I think it was called. At first I couldn’t believe that the sand was really that color, I thought it was just mud or shadows from the rocks. Then I realized that it was real volcanic rock. The water there looks especially beautiful against such a black shore, and the feeling is completely different when you step on this hot sand. But you have to be careful because under the scorching sun it heats up to boiling water. I think this is one of the most unusual places I’ve ever been. I would like to know if there are any other beaches with black sand that are worth visiting?

I have seen black beaches too, but in Iceland. Reynisfjara Beach in the south is something special! At first glance, it even scares you a little with its gloomy beauty. Black grains of sand, huge basalt columns and powerful waves. But I was surprised that even in such cold weather (it was about 5 degrees Celsius) you could meet tourists just walking barefoot on this sand. I think you will be interested in seeing other similar places, there is a good resource - https://findbestbeach.com/. I just read about beaches in different countries there, and they mention several black beaches in Greece and Hawaii, so there is definitely a choice! I myself want to go to Hawaii someday and see this contrast - the black coast and the azure sea.

Oh, black beaches are truly an impressive sight! I have not been to them yet, but I have always dreamed of seeing them. I remember reading somewhere about black sand beaches on the island of Lipari in Italy, but there are very few of them and they are not as popular as, for example, beaches with white or golden sand. I think such a vacation definitely adds variety. And I also heard that in Costa Rica there are small beaches with black sand, formed after volcanic eruptions.
