I think if you really feel the need to complain about your peers, you can take the initiative and pm your friends yourself. We want to keep these "organized" pm discussions positive. Or, if you really have a problem with a member, send a respectful pm to that person, and the problem just might get solved.

For religion, is it all going to be in like one symbol or is there going to be differant symbols for diferant religions?

^I think the symbol means that you're willing to discuss religion. If you wish to say what religion you are, you can simply say so in your sig as many people do.

I would be very interested in having symbols like that. Like several others have mentioned, I do enjoy a good, evenly-matched debate, though I do understand the necessity of keeping such things out of the public discussion boards. I'd definately go for it.

For the relegion discussing relegion its going to be one symbol for the whole topic. If you would like to know who is what relegion, I think thats for you guys to work out via pm, thats part of the fun of getting to know people ^_^

Theres also a 'will pray for others' one, I think I'll also put up another topic which is will talk about relegion but not debate it. I know there a few people who would just like to talk about their relegion without having their beleifs debated about.

^ Agreed. I fall into the second category.
Also, we should put these symbols a paragraph after the rest of our sigs - that way, people who use symbols in their sigs just for embellishment won't be mistaken as those looking for a debate.
So...+ is debate religion. = should be realtionships, I think. Any other ideas? Perhaps ~ for discuss religion, and * for politics?
(These are totally just suggestions)

To use the symbols so they're not confused with people just making their banner pretty, You put them in [] bracket, so it doesnt really matter where in your sig you put them, everyone would still know that its the member pm code if everyone uses the same form.

I'll try type up a post defining what the code is, what its for and all that later on. I'm sick at the moment and I need rest.

I'm for it too. I like good debate, but most thingsshouldn't get onto the forum boards. But it's a good idea, I say give it a trial run, you can always get rid of it again...

i'm for this idea, but i can think of MANY topics that you didn't cover. but lots of mine you would find out if you PMed me about my religion. hmm, there is one, but i don't think many would wish to speak about it. i'll keep my mouth shut.

When I read the first part of this thread, I really didn't think I would use the system were it implemented. But when I read Jo's list, I think I like it now I would like to be able to pray for others and talk about things like religion by PM, so you have my vote!
