Phoenix, did I mention that you're pretty much my hero? I've never been able to find a site to watch Torchwood.

Anyway, I'm glad you agree with me about pimping out Tennant, I have some friends that live for it.

The funniest quote ever was (possible spoiler, I guess)

"You just want TO MATE?"
"A MATE! I JUST WANT A MATE!"

It took me a minute, because obviously, I don't hear the term "mate" used every day, but then I started cracking up.

Surf the Channel has been my second home. Since Stage 6 fell apart I've been using that for my Smallville fix XD and upcoming season 4 BSG -random fangirl squeeee-

Don't get me wrong, David is gorgeous but it's time that someone just didn't fancy the Doctor. The line about Martha and Donna's reaction about summed it all up. C
"Charity Martha" Brilliant.

Spoilers for Episode 1.

Let me preface this by saying that I would happily disembowel Martha with a spoon if it would get Rose back. I hate Martha, and I don't know why. But I do know that I've really, really missed Rose.

Now. The end of the episode... I recognized the hair. I was like,
"Hey, that looks like... Why are they hiding her face... OMG. HOLYSH*T." :swoon:

*Dances*

Yeah, I know it is a bit sad. While I'm all for The Doctor/Rose, I do like Martha as well. Just not as much as I do with Rose. Martha did a great job in Torchwood.

Believe it or not, after all that I said about Martha, I liked her better in Dr Who than Torchwood.

But Tim, you and I are completely on the same page here. I totally agree with you.

Speaking of writers breaking their own rules...

I've heard a rumor that the Doctor is regenerating at the end of this season, *SOB* and that got me to thinking.

Little known fact is that TECHNICALLY, Timelords can only regenerate thirteen times, and then they die. If Tennant ends his gorgeous reign, then they will be on to the eleventh Doctor. That means that TECHNICALLY, there can only be two more Doctors.

Actually there have been 11 Doctors already, because no-body bothers to count one of them (Peter Cushin(sp?) I think) who was in one of the Darlek movies.

Well, there has been a few different doctors in the movie versions, I believe...but those aren't really counted, I don't suppose.

according to wikipedia, peter cushing didn't actually play the doctor - he played a human scientist called dr who. as such, the films aren't canon, and peter cushing isn't counted as one of the incarnatians of the doctor.

SO, I feel a responsibility to revive this thread!

:P

One, because I'm finally all caught up now. ;)

And Donna = PWNAGE of Earth. :P I'm so glad she's a companion. FWEEEE! Older, more mature, and NOT in love with the Doctor. HURRAH! Oh, and Catherine Tate is absolutely hysterical. (I was choking on some food during the miming scene in 'The Unicorn And The Wasp.' :P)

And now I'm REALLY excited for the next episode. :-o Like UBER excited. ;)

Secondly, because I now worship the ground RTD walks on after "Midnight." (Not that I didn't before....)

And thirdly, because I am a nerd that hangs out on NYTimes.com WAAAAY too much. And I found THIS:

"Who Altered British TV? 'Who' Indeed"

Thanks for reviving this Montana. I think the two of us could keep this thread going by ourselves.

And I actually have the line from Midnight ("oh Doctor, you're so handsome, yes I am, thank you") as my ringtone right now. Like, that was the most classic line ever.

But seriously, Doctor Who is having an amazing season overall.

Donna is ridiculously amazing. I think that if she sticks around, she'll definitely outshine Rose, which I really didn't think was possible. But Donna is both hilarious and bold, and it's a nice change to have a companion that isn't totally crazy for Tennant.

Good news.. I managed to watch Episode 1x01 [Rose]. I really liked it, and I have been meaning to watch the second one.

Ha ha ha ha! I think we could too. :P

I haven't posted in here (or the Torchwood one) in such a long time mainly because it's taken me a while to get caught up with all the episodes. I WAS behind in Doctor Who because I was watching it on Sci Fi...and then I moved and no longer have cable. :duh: So, I was just like...okay. I'll find it online. :P And now I have to impatiently await the episodes. HA HA HA!

Well I ADORE your sig set. It's PURE brilliance. But you have it as a RINGTONE?? :-o I'm SO jealous. How did you manage that? I must know these secrets to getting it on your phone...so that I can maybe try and figure it out and have it as mine. XD

It HAS been an awesome season. And I really think it's because of Donna. I was SUCH a fan of her in Runaway Bride (unlike most people unfortunately), and I'm SO glad that she's been able to be revived as a companion!

FWEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

I'll ALWAYS be a fan of Rose. Always. And personally I can't really compare Donna and Rose...but I think they're definately equals companionship wise. :P But I agree whole heartedly with you on everything you said about Donna. Finally now only the fans (;)) can oogle all over David.

Oh Wise Phoenix will hate me for saying this, but there was always something about Martha that just bothered me. Got under my skin. I can't really explain it. Ha ha ha ha. Her return was such an epic failure, it made me laugh. :P

EDIT:

@Smeag: So, are you just now getting into Doctor Who? Because if you are, then WELCOME! What do you think of it? Obviously you think it's good enough to watch the second episode! YAY!!! First Lost, and NOW Doctor Who?? *throws confetti*

And Heroes... I watched both seasons in between Lost and Doctor Who.

I absolutely loved the attitude of the doctor. His complete sarcasism, if I can call it that, rocked.

Oooh. Heroes as well? Wow! I never got into Heroes...although I might have to now. Because Kristen Bell is in it...and another guy from Veronica Mars is set to guest star in it in the next season. :P

Well, it's great that you like the Doctor and the show so much! YAY for Timelord sarcasm! XD And well just wait, you're in for a treat with the whole show. I think you'll love it.
