Thanks guys! It's still a little rough, but it's really nice that you guys enjoyed it.
And I agree with Elenya about No More Despair's prompt. I thought version 2 flowed better and gave a little better look at the characters and who they were.

I found a little about French opera, here's the site. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Opera
Tonight my youth pastor told me that he's been asked to publish a newspaper in the area I live in. He knows I write and mentioned me writing something for the paper! I'm excited about that! lol

*bump* C'mon, guys!
Well, Arawn, we've just been doing a few prompts, and talking a bit about our writing.
No More Despair; I agree that version two has more character development and seems more natural. The only thing is, you switch tenses a little at the start, but that's easily taken care of. Maybe, (only if you want to, of course), you could do a slightly better character intro; I mean, is this supposed to be the first scene? If so, I'd describe Jasmine and Victor a little bit better and let the reader get to know Jasmine so they're more affected at the end of the scene. Just my two cents.

The problem I often seem to have with contests is that I can't write when someone gives me a theme! It jsut has to go "click" and then something comes out.

On the contest I need to start writing for, it took me a long time to come up with an idea. It's about Arthur, Guinevere, etc, and I was having trouble with an idea.

Hmm, I think that is one of the topics, which has exhausted itself in one way, but on the other hand never can, because it's a legend. If you follow me.

I have that problem too, Arawn. I can deal if someone gives me a genre, but if someone just gives me a topic and tells me what to write... I can still come up with decent material, but it just isn't as fun while I'm writing it
MY main problem with contests is that my writing usually turns out too long. recently I dropped out of a writing contest because my SHORT story was 60 pages long.

I can't believe I haven't joined yet. I'm a writer.
In fact that's one of the careers I plan to do when I grow up. I've learned a lot over the years but there is so much to learn. I'm hoping when I graduate to start college. I plan to write a whole bunch of fantasy novals, and horse ones also.
I also love a lot of writers such as William Shakespeare, Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and others.
