"Ladders and Gentle Ben's! Once again FM is about to exhibit her weir... I mean UNIQUE!!! taste in television."
Alrighty, so, let's scan the crowd real quick. Anyone else like MacGyver? Think Richard Dean Anderson is awesome as all get out? Hmm? One hand? Two maybe?
I love (not literally) MacGyver, and we have 5 Season's of it. I can quote him frontwards and backwards, and I've spent many hours researching his 'speriments. Admittedly, I even call him "Mac" sometimes.
"Poor old Mac'... he's always gets blown up in this Season."
It does bother me a bit that he refuses to use a perfectly good gun when his life is at stake... and one other thing. I don't like his numerous girlfriends either, especially not Penny Parker.
But over and all, it's a really interesting and fun show. Agreed?

Erm, maybe? I don't think he is English though, pretty American.
Is this what your thinking of?

MacGyver! What an awesome show. I totally grew up on this one. I've been watching it since 1990 if I'm not mistaken. I would absolutely love to get the DVDs.
I think the fact that he chooses not to use a gun is what makes the show so good, it's his incredible imagination that really sets the show apart.

True, he does have an absolutely thrilling imagination. I think my favorite episode has got to be when he builds a helicopter out of an old jeep...
Anyhow, good to hear you like it too! They're *finally* selling the DVD's around here, which is awesome.

just did some searching on imdb and i was thinking of the film 'macgyver: lost treasure of atlantis', which is part of the same franchise but was made later than the series. i always thought it was english, but i think that was primarily on the basis that i remember brian blessed more than anyone else and he's as english as they come. guess i was wrong though - ne'er mind!

Awile ago I started watching Stargate. Richard Dean Anderson (I call him RDA) is in that show. Or he was. He's gone now, and the show isn't nearly as good. But anyway, I saw a commercial for Macgyver, and the first thought that came to my mind was "Oh wow, RDA has hair! Look at it!" I've seen the show a couple times, and its alright, but I think the main attraction of it for me was RDA.

I had such a huge crush on RDA back when MacGyver was on (for real, not as reruns lol)
Stargate is a really cool show, I really enjoyed seeing my old childhood hero again on TV

I've been trying to find somewhere I can download and episode or two to watch. I remember when it was getting first aired at prime time, I was fairly young then so I dont rightly remember a whole lot of it. But after watching Stargate, it gave me cravings to watch MacGyver again

Woah-ho!!! I never expected to find this many other fans! Dudes, righteous! *two thumbs up*
MacGyver is sort of the fantastic hero around here. My sisters kids (she has 8 of them) are so addicted to MaGyver that it stuns me. My baby neice's first word was "'Gyver" and her first sentence was "I watch 'Gyver." I don't remember ever having a crush on him; I was too obsessed with Maxwell from Get Smart. But you're right, MacGyver ruled, and still rules as one of the most original and creative shows of all time.

OOOOO.
Maaaan.
You know about Get Smart TOO?!
AU is like the coolest place in the universe. You're the first person I've ever met who knows about Get Smart!
Ya, I want a shoe phone, but more than that... Down with Chaos! Down with Chaos!
I forgive Max for marrying Agent 99 though. She was one cool girl.
