Who? Michael Ironside? Oh yeah, I loved seeing him.
Back to the movie. I loved this movie. People have been saying that this may be the best X-Men movie and I'm right up there with them.
Firstly, the story was just amazing. Maybe it's due to the lack of Wolverine or maybe it was because it was grounded in historical events, but I felt the epicness it was trying to convey. I really liked how, like Batman Begins, it made an effort to introduce some of the more obscure characters into the films. The X-Men universe does exist outside Wolverine, Storm, or Gambit, after all. I also loved how it felt very 60s, the whole Cold War issue wrapped with the mutants. That was lovely.
And the cast. Good lord, McAvoy and Fassbender are pretty much my new slash ship and I hardly ever slash. They had such wonderful chemistry, I seriously wouldn't mind watching an hour and a half of them interacting. I bet Xavier wiped Moira's memory so he could keep himself free for Magneto...Spunk!! Just kidding

But in all seriousness, Fassbender did an amazing job conveying the pure emotions that Lensherr goes through as he struggles to find a balance between peace and revenge.
The supporting cast was great, the highlights being Rose Byrne and Jennifer Lawrence. Both fantastic actresses in this movie. And honestly, if you were playing an egomaniac smug mutant, how else would you play him besides chewing the scenery and hamming it up?
