alot of politicaly correct nonscence.pipe smokers only let in to the mouth.not into the lungs.its greatly benefitial to the health and cured me of several things.also the state is so against it because it sharpens the mind.the last thing the state wants is slaves who think clearly.they want them dumb obediant and easily programned.tolkien smoked a billiard.

aah okay, I'm really sorry! I thought smoking whatever harms your lungs and the whole body, maybe it's tobacco and cigarettes that do that... no hard feelings okay?

I think it's cool you smoke the pipe noldor, there are so few who do..
*alright, bit off topic*
however, you don't have to like the Sil more than LotR Eärlinde, it's just my personal opinion, but that doesn't mean I don't like LotR much. I LOVE LotR!!
(ah I feel relieved now, at last I could tell again that I love LotR ;))

Guess what guys? *plays a little funfare*

I'm going to the bookshop today... I finally found what I sought for... The Silmarillion in english!!!!! *dances around for being so happy*

It's a bit hard to find it in english here from Finland, but I want to read Tolkiens books in english, because when you change it into finnish, the ideas and words etc. can vary alot and it's good excersise, no english lessons on the summer holiday!

*leaves to the bookshop...*

*wooohooo* that's AWESOME!!! I wish I could get the Sil in English here in Germany, but I never found it (I guess I have to buy it at amazon..) there are so many book stores here which only have LotR in German. That's so frustrating, because I have to buy all my books on the internet and I can never see what they're like before I buy them

14 Euros!!! And for a battered and shaggy one!!!! WHAAA!!!???? Honestly... what are they thinking over there in Europe, I thought only the gas was expensive. And the book was written in Europe. Wow, just, wow.

Anyway, yes the Silmarillion is an excellent book. Not a narrative like the LotR, mind you, more of a 'recount', if you will. Very good book.

Yes, here in Germany it costs 14 Euros and 50 cents (but the new ones, we don't have second hand book stores here..) but that's quite a normal price, there are books which are much more expensive

yeah I agree, the Sil was quite difficult to read, but once you got through it it's fine I think and it definitely is very explaining useful and very interesting and just great
