Bwuhahaha. I was reading over HBP yesterday, and something hit me when I read the chapter Silver and Opals. Said chapter is where Katie Bell is imperiused and given the necklace to deliver up to the school. What if that is said necklace. I also remember that McGonagall had told Filch to take it to Snape because he's the DADA teacher...perhaps they decided to change it a bit in the movie? And I think it makes sense, because why else would the trio be in that scene?

I remember that too, and whilst I still think the turquoise/opal/whatever necklace still looks fake or even photoshopped badly I suppose it could be that scene. But what's the grey thing lying open on the desk?

It looks like the case in which the necklace had been resting in... unfolded and such... those blue parts being the folding parts to rest on top of the gray....

Big news people. Apparently there have been a couple of early screenings for HBP in the past week and reviews for the movie are starting to crop up. You can read quite a bit about it on The Leaky Cauldron's news page. I won't give away spoilers, but so far I'm a bit disappointed with the things I've found out, and I'm afraid it's only going to get worse.

EDIT: MASSIVE SPOILERS at this link -- http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2008/ ... -screening

Don't say I didn't warn you.

How is that possible though? You do not get screenings 10 months in advance for something like Harry Potter. That is ridiculous if it is true, which reading it now, it looks like it is. They may as well release the bloody thing. Jeez, it will be like trying not to find out what happened in book 7 all over again for people who want to watch this film, as there will be so many spoilers posted all over the place.

You can probably guess Larael which bit I disliked reading about the most. ;) Although I expect you to have SQUEE'd yourself into next week.

I didn't believe it at first either, but it does sound legit once you read it. Personally, I'm surprised someone didn't film it and post it on YouTube. That would have been an excellent way to exact revenge upon WB.

Anyway, yes, I know exactly which part your talking about. I did squee rather loudly when I read that bit. It was the only part that really made me happy to be honest. ;)

Well if you read the comments, all bags were checked, anything metal was removed before you watched it in case of weird looking recoriding devices, and they were being watched at all times.

The problem is, next summer Warner Bros have no major film. This year they had Speedracer and The Dark Knight.

Clearly they want another Dark Knight which is the ONLY reason it's been pushed back till summer. My brother reckons this screening may actually be because Warner Bros want to know what people's early reaction to the film is. They want a success - so they need to know what people do and don't like. As my brother said, they could have shot tons of other stuff, ready in case people want this and that.

It's a screwy way to fool people though. By either a) making them think this is the only version they're going to see or b) that there is a chance a different version will be the one seen in the cinema.

Aye, I got that after reading MuggleNet's review, which was a lot more informative and perhaps even told a bit more of what to expect. I think I'm a lot less upset about some of the changes since reading it. After the first review I was convinced it will be awful, but now I'm more optimistic. It certainly won't match the book word-for-word, but that's okay with me as it hasn't been that way in a long time. :)

And of course, I'm very excited about Snape. I thought he looked slightly different in the screencaps we've seen so far, and I was right. Apparently, they've given his outfit some tailoring and made the wig a bit more natural. If that's possible. :P

What, it's taken them 6 films to realise things need doing? *tsk* There's probably some underlying reason for that, and I already have my suspicions.

Hmm, well it's probably too early to tell but... eh, Warner Bros may well have pushed the fans too far with all the messing around, so they might not do well no matter what the film is like.

It's true. It's got to be nothing short of amazing to please fans now. I mean, they've got 9 or so months to keep working on it and perfecting it, and no one will expect anything short of perfection. Something that has not been attained in any of the previous films.

I didn't want to be spoiled about the movie but I couldn't help it. I have to say that there were some things I thought were going to be cut but it seems they did not. Though as a Remus/Tonks shipper it sucks that they will not explain their relationship just a little bit...I do hope they pay attention to the comments of the people in the screenings (but it is WB so I'm not sure they will).

That was definitely one thing I was upset about. I swear Natalie Tena said in a few interviews that there is a Tonks/Remus relationship and that it is established in the movie, but this sounds like we're just supposed to assume or guess that they're together. It sort of screws things up for DH. I was hoping we'd be seeing their wedding instead of Bill and Fleur's. But since we don't really know if they're together movie-wise... :/

I read about it too. I assume that maybe those scenes were not shown in the screenings. If those scenes are around, they can add them for the people who don't read the books can understand what's going on between them. It is disappointing. We have to wait for the final result in July (too long!)
