Melda held in her laughter for as long as possible. She picked up the hose and grinned at her mother.
'Hmmm. They're gonna get wet.'

"And that's a good thing," winked Aranel. "When you're ready."

Quote: Goldleaf and Boromir followed Itachi into the living room. "Enya," Goldleaf replied. "She has such a beautiful voice." She walked over to the stereo and selected the album "Shepherd Moons". She slotted it into the player and ethereal music played into the room. Goldleaf smiled and sat on the couch.
(My last post was on page 9... hehehe.)

Melda sniggered to herself quietly and pointed the hose at her father through the window, chosing a path for the water that'd mean everyone got wet. 'Ready... set... go!' She turned the water on.

Itachi sighed and sat down on the couch. He leaned back and let the music wash over him, replacing his wariness with a calm, relaxed feeling. "An excellent choice," he said to Goldleaf, smiling.
Aranel watched as the water squirted out and headed for her husband. Part of her wanted to warn him but the other part, the devious part, was enjoying every moment.
Itachi felt something cold and wet him. "What the -?! ARGH!"

As the water spurted through the window, Goldleaf jumped up and leaned through the window, grabbing the hose and turning it on Melda. Boromir, brushing down his sleeves which were slightly damp, laughed surprisedly. But he wondered what a now drenched Itachi would do.

Melda ran awya from the window laughing, now wetter than she had been before. She waved at Goldy when she'd gotten out of range of the hose, and tried not to collapse laughing. Oh, she was in for trouble later...

Aranel jumped out of the way as the hose was turned against Melda and looked at Itachi. He was standing now, his head slowly turning in her direction. She grinned widely at him and waited for his outburst. The silence ticked by, then..."You ruined my hair."
Uh...what? Aranel looked on in slight shock as Itachi trodded out of the room, looking sodden and disgruntled, and obviously mourning for his now ruined hair. She cocked her head to the side and could stare straight ahead, pondering at this odd turn of events.

"You have one seriously weird family," Boromir said to Goldleaf as Itachi tramped solemnly out of the room.
Goldleaf laughed, picking at strands of her slightly damp hair. "Father takes his hair very seriously."

Melda gradually stopped laughing and called to her sister. 'Wet enough Goldy?'

Goldleaf heard her sister's voice float into the room and called back, "not nearly as wet as you."

"Eh..." muttered Aranel, turning back to her daughters. "Ah well, I wouldn't say it wasn't all that unexpected, though for him to actually say it out loud...hmmm." She then shrugged and chuckled. "Looks like I'm the only dry one here." And before that could change, she scampered after her husband.

Melda laughed again. 'Goldy, fancy ganging up on Mothery next? I have water balloons.'

"Meldy, that's cruel," Goldleaf replied to her younger sister's suggestion.
Boromir tutted behind his wife, not taking it at all seriously. "Honestly Melda, water ballooning your own mother?" he said, comically.

Melda grinned at Boromir. 'Theres ale in it for you.' she said.

"I can drink ale anywhere," Boromir said. "What do you take me for?" He grinned as Goldleaf shook her head at her soaking wet little sister.
"What do you want to water balloon mother for anyway?" she asked.
