Itachi strolled into living room casually, his clothes pressed and dry, and his hair in the usual ponytail. On his arm was Aranel, who was smiling blissfully. Apparently, all previous enmity was forgotten. "Ah, you're both still here?" She smiled at Boromir and Goldleaf.

"Indeed," Boromir replied. He looked over at Itachi. "Your hair's back to normal, then? Can't say I really worry about mine."
"You don't need to," Goldleaf laughed. "I don't think the neat look would suit you."

Itachi grinned slightly at them both. "It is back to normal."
"And that's a good thing, isn't it?" teased Aranel lightly. Itachi nodded at her, smiling fully and winking.

Boromir gave a dramatic gasp. "Itachi's smiling! Break out the ale!" he yelled. "I've been trying to get this man to smile since I've been here. No, since before I've been here. You have no idea how scary he was at our wedding."
Goldleaf grinned. "Father loves his hair," she said.

Aranel burst into laughter at Boromir's words and collapsed unto the couch. Standing in his spot, Itachi watched in silent amusement at her fit and wondered at what she had eaten that day. Then he remarked, in good humour, "Of course I love my hair. What would I ever do without such beautiful locks. Nay, the thought burns me." Another loud bout of laughter escaped from Aranel and she buried her head into a pillow to smother her noise.

Boromir grinned as his mother-in-law burst into hysterical laughter then flopped onto the couch. He too burst into laughter as Itachi remarked upon how much he loved his hair, and found he was as hysteric as Aranel; he struck upon the arm of the couch with a loud cry.
"I like the cut of your jib, Itachi," he said through his laughter. "Never have I met a man so silent and sullen, yet so concerned about his appearance."
Goldleaf looked on as her mother and husband bent over in laughter, quite beside themselves. She glanced at her father. "Whatever have you done to them?" she asked.

Itachi grinned at Goldleaf and replied, "I have no idea."
Finally, after a few moments Aranel emerged from her pillow, face flushed and wheezing slightly. "Never, in all my days of marriage, have I heard him utter those words."
She stood up and walked over to her husband. Then, she glared at Itachi thoughfully and demanded, "Who are you? What have you done with my husband."
Itachi offered her another wide smile and she stared, perplexed. "You're not planning anything are you?" she said, warily. He gave a shrug and patted her on the head. Aranel blinked.

Boromir stopped laughing after a while. "I haven't laughed so much for a long time," he said. "I think we could all do with some ale, don't you, Goldleaf?"
"I'm not having any," she said. "You may be obsessed with the brew of our people, but I'm certainly not."

"Ale sounds good," said Itachi and Aranel was once again shocked for lord knows how many times that day. Since when did her husband drink? Aranel made a face, lost in her thoughts, till she felt herself being dragged towards the kitchen.
