Itachi accepted his mug and immediately took a drought. Aranel sat on a stool and observed them quietly, fingers tapping on the tiled counter.

Boromir slapped Itachi on the back and gulped down his measure of ale. "Nothing like a taste of home to refresh the taste buds," he said cheerfully. Goldleaf glanced at her mother, finding the whole bonding buisness between her husband and father amazing.

Aranel stuck her tongue out at Itachi when he grinned slyly at her after finishing his ale. She looked at Goldleaf in wry amusement before turning back to glare silently at the man.

Goldleaf nudged her mother. "Father's acting a bit strange, isn't he?" she said. "I never saw him as the... Boromir-ish type."
Boromir put down his mug on the counter. "My ears are burning," he said.
"Then put them out," Goldleaf quipped. Boromir gave a crack of laughter.

"That makes it sound as if they're a couple," replied Aranel, saying the first silly thing that popped into her head. She coughed and hid a grin behind her hand.
Itachi scowled at her and poured himself another mug.

Boromir laughed at his sulky father-in-law. "Don't drink all of it," he said. "Your stomach might not be used to it yet, and it's strong stuff."
Goldleaf nodded from her sitting position. "Careful," she warned her father. "The men of Gondor are used to brew as powerful as that. We wouldn't want a chucking up situation."

"Good," Boromir said. "Because I'm not clearing up your sick." He laughed and Goldleaf stood up.
"Shall we go back into the living room?" she said.

Aranel nodded and took hold of Itachi's hand. She lead him out of the kitchen and back into the living room. He landed heavily on the couch and sighed. Ale must be getting to him... Aranel said nothing but sat next to him. "Ah, I'm a bit tired."

He nodded lazily. "I think I learnt my lesson. No more ale for a while." Aranel resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the obvious statement and instead, snuggled closer to Itachi. "Though, it would've been amusing to see you drunk," she stated.

"Generally, anyone who isn't Gondorian can't take their Gondorian ale," Boromir said cheerfully.
"Don't tease him," Goldleaf said. "Father, I think you should stay off the ale. Just because Boromir drinks it in gallons doesn't mean you have to."

Aranel chuckled quietly. "It makes sense though. I honestly don't know what got into you Itachi." She poked him and he only groaned in response.

"Perhaps you are," teased Aranel. "Ok, I am officially...uh, wanting to go outside. Maybe some fresh air might do you good, Itachi-sama." Itachi muttered something but she didn't quite catch it. "Come on then, Mister," she said, pulling him out his seat and through the doors leading outside.

Goldleaf smiled as Aranel guided Itachi from the room. She looked at Boromir. "I don't think he should have any ale again," she said. "He doesn't look too good."
"Not my fault," Boromir replied. "He just wasn't used to it."
