Ronin nodded, "I'll join ya for a bit of practice after ya are done talking with Miss Rose here. After all, I could do with a bit of work. According to someone," he shot a pointed look at Lilith, "I eat too much."

Lilith frowned, "You know I didn't mean that way, Ronin!" She huffed. She knew he was joking, but Haven's cold demeanor had put her off, and now she was taking it out on the easiest target. She scooped up her plate and stood from the table.

"You know, I'm jus' teasing ya, Lilith," he said with a smile, ruffling her already messy hair. Her frown deepened.

"Yes, I know," she replied grudgingly. "Now, go and have fun. I intend to get a head start on these plates lest I am stuck washing them late tonight," she finished, striding off purposefully towards a water barrel.

Haven mused over this. "I still don't know how I can trust you. If this is a trap... I could loose all the years I've put into this rebellion."

Haven searched her face with his cold blue eyes, looking for any sign of lies. He found none. Perhaps... This might be a chance he had to take.
"We'll get a scouting party together later," he noted. "And you will lead us there."

Lilith hefted the water barrel onto the counter so that it was easier for her to reach. Her back already hurt from her unfortunate choice of bedding, no need to further its suffering she thought. She also admitted that it was a very good spot that she could listen to the conversations around her. Haven's decision shocked her and she could have sworn that her blood ran cold for a moment. A scouting party that close to the castle would be asking for a death. No matter the secret paths or what ever. The place was swarming with enemies, anyone could just happen upon the group. She bit her lip to keep from interrupting and stared at the pot in her hands and pretended to keep scrubbing it.

Haven was still mulling this over in his head. He knew it was stupid and terribly risky... And he dare not put the lives of his men in danger. They had families and loved ones to watch over.

Lilith could not hold her tongue any longer. She dropped her dish into the sudsy barrel and stalked over to Haven, her jaw and fists clenched angrily.

"You can not be serious about this, Master Maverick!" She exclaimed in a high pitched voice.

"It is foolishness! Do you not see that? No matter what hidden pathyways this girl claims to know. You could still be stumbled on by any. The woods do not lead straight to the castle. You would have to lose cover for a moment, and that is all they need. Tell me you are not truly considering this...," she pleaded, her hands clasped in front of her in a begging gesture. She did not care if she looked silly, anything would be better than this half baked scheme. Lilith was determined to make him see sense, and she was not past begging on her knees to get what she wanted. It was not that the girl was untrustworthy, but she was also under the care of the man they were about to attack which meant she more than likely did not understand in full the power of his troops.

"Lilith... Please, understand..." Haven stared evenly at her, though his expression was one of sympathy. "If I've been given a chance to claim the freedom we've so long sought after I can't just sit here and let it pass me by. I will take this chance, Lilith. I have to."

"There is a difference between chance and a death wish, Haven Maverick. You seem to be very ill aware of that difference," she shot back.

"Your men are not well. You send them to death if you go now. You cannot insist on going today. I believe in this rebellion, you well know that. But, even I can see that a choice like this will not end well for any involved," she continued.

"For God's sake Haven," she said desperately, not realizing that she had dropped the honorif from his name, "even the girl you choose to lead you is injured."

"Please..." she begged.

Sucking in her pride she knelt at his side and took hold of his hand and rested her forehead on his leg, "A few days. Give them a few days to heal. That way they may have the chance that you so desperately want."

Haven's eyes went wide, his embarrassment showing on his face. "Don't do that," he insisted, tugging her to her feet. "Fine, I won' go today. I promise. We'll wait, we'll plan this out. Just please stop groveling!"

Lilith grinned and hopped up easily, a relieved sigh escaping her lips. For that promise she would have sacrificed her pride ten times over. She was ecstatic, her brother, Tomos, Keith, Haven, Rose...even the new girls. They would be safe for another night at least.

The girl bowed her head foreward in grattitude.

"Thank you, sir. It eases my mind so to know they will have some time to return to health. You do not realize how much it means to me," she continued, her voice still filled with relief. It was apparent that Lilith might have made herself ill with worry had he chose to go that day.

"Thank you..." she reiterated, her hands folded demurely in front of her skirts her eyes darting from the floor back to Haven. Finally her face set and she turned and walked back to finish the dishes. Yes, she was more than happy at the change in events, but now was time to finish work. Besides, she was still rather angry with the Shadin leader, she had only gone over there to protect the other men. Now that her task was done she had other things to work on.

He looked over at Marran and mouthed the word "Later," then walked after Lilith. He stood there a moment, then spoke. "I wish you wouldn't call me that."
His voice was firm, but not unfriendly or angry.

Marran nodded, understanding that she and Haven would speak again. She sat at the table and blushed as her stomach growled again.

"Call you..."Lilith murmered pondering the request.

She stopped scrubbing a dish for a moment. The blonde tilted her head and her brow wrinkled in confusion and then slackened as realization hit her.

"I am sorry, Master Maverick. It slipped...I was hysteric, it will not happen again. I swear it," she said truthfully.

Lilith now felt a blush rising to her cheeks. It was rather forward and disrespectful now that she thought back on it. No, she would not regret it, she swore inwardly.
