King Aldaine eyed her with all the intensity of an animal stalking its prey. He erased the space between them with a few easy strides.

"Your choices in men may be terrible," he mused, lifting his delicate chin so she was forced to look in his eyes, "But your Max seems to have... exquisite taste." His dark eyes scanned over her with a grin before locking back with her eyes.

"Care to... negotiate?" he asked, his words a whisper in her ear.
