Well, since the meeting is with important politicians, I was thinking of having my character become an anarchist. But your character could be in it for the money or revenge

Name: Jenya Kaplinski
Gender: Female

Parents: Ivan (deceased) and Helena (deceased)
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black, long, armpit length. Often tied back in a bun.

Personality: Cold, cynical and ruthless. When angered, uses a cold chilling voice. She lacks faith in both religion and government.
History: Born in the year 1982, Jilla's family survived the fall of the Soviet Union without much trouble. The trouble came when both of her parents apparently "died" in a skiing accident when she was eight. Later, Jenya discovered that they were both spies for the former Soviet Union and assassinated. She was sent to an orphanage where she lived an anti-social life, a factor that greatly contributed to her cynical outlook on life. The orphanage she went to was one of the few religious orphanages and was very forceful in the religion, further pushing her away from God. Finally when she was 16, she had enough. She fled the orphanage and joined a far-left political organization. From that organization, she went to an eco-terrorist organization, where she spend eight years in, training to become a terrorist. By the time, the leaders of the organizations were arrested, she had evolved from a naive girl in a cozy family into a ruthless cold femme fatale. She managed to escape and from that point, completely disappeared.

Well it's is undecided yet as I said I wanted to leave it open for suggestions.

Perhaps the firm wants to supply the troops with new weapons for the war in Iraq or somewhere else. In that case there should be politicians present to close the deal. Hostage takers could be anarchist or pacifists..

Another possibility is that the firm will arrange a deal about opening a new nuclear power station. Hostage takers could be more fundamental environmentalists.

Personality: Cold and calculating on the outside while nevous and frightened to make any mistakes. She tends to say yes to others however she doesn't like their ideas, tends to lose control in intense situations.
History: Her parents worked in a company prior to her birth. They were accused of being in illegal deals with weapons so they had to go to prison. It came out later they had been framed, but because of the press and media, Amy was taken away from them and grew up with her grandmother who always tried to keep Amy away from the company. However when both of her parents died in an accident in their company, Amy left her grandmother to take over the company, finding out the truth about her parent's business which she is trying to hide.

Okay, I have an idea for my bio, which I'll post later, but could have another character who is outside the building? Police, FBI, CIA, or whatever other three-letter organization would apply.

And were going with something along the lines of the new weapon for Iraq that involved anarchists taking everyone hostage?

Well, let's see...Anarchists are opposed to any form of government and if a company is offering to sell the government new military technology, anarchists aren't going to be too happy about that.

But a more realistic idea is the eco-terrorists taking over, let's say a joint conference between oil companies and the government.

Whatever works for me, I was just trying to figure it out and that's what it seemed like was what had the most discussion.

As for the Eco-terrorists (And I'm guessing here), but I believe what they mean is that this would be a radical break off of a group like (insert any random environment-centric group here) and they are going to take the group hostage because of any of a number of reasons that would harm the environment. The two ideas dealing with Eco-terrorists were:a new nuclear power plant, which could possible harm the environment if it were to go critical and explode; or a meeting between the government and a(n) big oil company(ies), which harms the environment because drilling for oil destroys the land and oil pollutes the atmosphere and oil takers can spill which ruins the ocean ecosystem.
