Aria had just caught the tail end of the Horseman's statement, leaving her to wonder what it was exactly that someone had "Died because of it.</i> She subtly moved closer to the Horseman, feeling just a tad too intimidated, but also curious to see if he would say anything else on the subject.
"Um, nice... um... horse," she said, in a general attempt at conversation. "I don't suppose it fancies the consumption of tools every now and then, hm?"

Noticing another guest close by The Horseman repeated his conversation and added "choking was the cause of death if I am correct" he said. "And no, my Eliza does not eat tool boxes. Hay and carrots do her fine. And sugar lumps" he added.

Aria cracked a smile at the latter; being naturally rather fond of horses, she could tell this was a very fine breed. "Aria Dissonance," she said by means of an introduction, and offered a short bow. "Well, I suppose they were just misplaced then. Too bad, that. The door has rather been through difficult times tonight, and could use a new hinge or so."

Saffron gasped. "Someone died?" That's horrible..."
Winter, still being held in Saffron's arms, mewed and pawed at the empty space where the Horseman's head should of been. Saffron smiled, but found it a little hard to smile in light of what had happened last year. She grabbed another cookie and ate it slowly, losing herself in thought.
"Right, you're horse," she said upon swallowing the last bite of the cookie. "I don't think I got to see her..."

The Horseman looked guilty at Aria's statement for he was the cause of it all.
"This way madam" he said to Saffron. "A fine horse she is indeed" as he led her to the cloakroom.

Eyes opened abruptly, breath heaving as she sat upright from the lush ground that she had been resting against. Hair strewn about as she began to pick out the flowers that had fallen into it, most likely from a lingering breeze.
"Now that was a terrifying dream" She whispered to herself as she pushed herself off of the ground, brushing at her long corseted gown, much akin to those vampires in the novels.
Stretching her arms above her head she let eyes rimmed in kohl and crimson wander, it wasn't long before they landed upon the home she had been searching for. Jocelyn had left the mansion earlier to get a nice rest out in the shade of evening, but a nap had turned into a lingering sleep.
It was late, and she had best return to the mansion and mingle with the other guests, her blood quickened at the mere thought of being around so many people, but it was not a choice she had anymore...

Kit was not so sure she should dismiss the revelation of the missing toolbox so idly, but she had dismissed the maid and found the guests had long since started adding balloons to the party decoration. "That Horseman, honestly..." she grumbled and made her way back to the ballroom where pumpkins and balloons and bubbles spewed out into the hallway.
She came upon the group of guests discussing the events of the last Hallowfest, something she was not fond of as she lost too many guests in the incident and her boss was not happy at all about it.
"I don't think it's necessary to talk of the last Hallowfest," Kit said nervously.... "It brings back such bad memories."

Jocelyn finally made her way into the house and the first thing she noticed was the array of balloons of all colors and shapes... it seemed that the other guests were getting winded as some of the more recent balloons had lost their size.
This was her first Hallowfest and she was both nervous and excited, talk of what had happened during the last fest had reached her ears and it did not sit to well with her, not at all. Clutching the red rose she had taken from the gardens she moved around the balloons, moving closer to the others guests.

Kit noticed the nervous newcomer and smiled invitingly at her, "Do come in! How do you do? It's rather chilly out there, so come on in and get cosy---there's some apple cider on the tables if you'd like some." She ushered the lost girl in. "Don't worry, we don't bite----but I'd stay away from the cloakroom."

Saffron nodded and followed the Horseman to the cloak closet. She saw Jocelyn enter and flashed a friendly smile in her direction. "Hello," she said. Winter mewed her own greeting. "I must say, that's a very gorgeous dress. My name is Saffron."

"Why, thank you... what may I call you Miss?" She asked with the bow of her head, dark auburn hair falling over porcelain skin, as if with the slightest touch she would break and fall into a million shards. "I'd rather not... I am not too fond of the apples..." She glared at the cider for a moment, a pool of blood appeared in her mind before she shivered.
"The cloakroom... well luckily I have no jacket this night..." Though she said this, curiosity hit her. Jocelyn may be a lonely soul, but that does not mean she is not curious to what is around her. Before she could get an answer from the mysterious lady, another voice hit her and she turned to see another girl introducing herself to Jocelyn.
Again she bowed her head and a small smirk appeared on her dark stained lips. "How do you do, my name is Jocelyn..."

Kit faltered at the odd look Jocelyn had on her face when she stared at the cider... "Okay well.... you know, we have wine too, you're free to the wine----well, just leave some for [s]me[/s] everyone else."

Jocelyn noted that the woman never gave a name and made a mental note of that, it was either just a slip, or deliberate... "No thank you, though the wine is quite tempting..." Joccie could almost taste the red liquid sliding down her throat.
Instead she brought her rose to her lips, passing the petals across her mouth before tilting her head to the side.

Lady Death relaxed slightly at the reappearance of the hostess. An anxiety that she could not place had fallen over the Lady during during her absence. Sipping at her wine she made her way to a newcomer who was dressed rather splendidly.
"Good evening," she said as she came closer, stretching out her hand to shake the other girl's.

Kit tipped her glass of wine towards Jocelyn. "A wonderful thing, wine. I'm Kit, by the way. I'm the hostess of this shin dig, so if you have any trouble, just ask me... or the others if you know..." She was getting nervous under the scrutiny of this new guest. "So where are you from?"

"That's a lovely name," Saffron said with a smile. "Hmm, I seem to have missed the apple cider...do you have any candy corn, by the way? I love candy corn. It is my favorite type of candy. Too bad it only comes out during Halloween..." She frowned. "Because I would eat it year round. Ah, sorry, I tend to ramble."
