I stopped liking Twilight after I read the fourth book. I had to stop and ask myself what the heck I was doing wasting my time on fourth grade level writing. Not looking forward for the movie anymore.

The Headless Horseman wrote: - does anyone actually like the look of this film? Seriously. Everywhere I seem to stumble on the net, no-one likes anything about anything to do with Twilight. HP fans seem to have an unusual level of hatred for the books as a rule so they're pouncing on this film, Twilight fans hate HP people back.. etc etc etc.
So I'm just wondering if it's only going to be the people who know nothing about Twilight that are going to go and watch it and give it a chance?
Here's the thing about the Twilight fanbase--
The reason it has such a rabid, huge base who say things like "omg!!1twilgiht is SOO orginiel" is because they don't read. Anything.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT ALL TWILIGHT FANGIRLS ARE LIKE THIS. I know and love some twilighters who read other things, have other obsessions, and do not talk like the quote above.
But a whooooole lot of Twlighters do talk that way. And people who love HP or LotR or CoN or any other respectable fandom often aren't drawn to Twilight; but Twilight makes up for this by bringing in fans who don't have other obsessions and don't even usually read that much. So they fall for the whole "Vampires vs. Werewolves? What a GREAT idea!" and "They love each other but are separated because of fueds between families/species!" plotlines because...they haven't seen them that often before.
So the movie hate is coming from the people with different obsessions who never loved twilight in the first place. Granted, there are a few twilighters that are worried by the appearance of the movie as well. But for the most part, the rabid-fangirl-texting-lingo group of Twilight fans will glide from book obsession to movie obsession rather seamlessly.
Just my thoughts.
AND ONCE AGAIN: I do not mean that all Twilight fans are like that, just a large number of them. I don't mean to offend anyone!!

i wouldn't say i'm "rabid" but i do count it among my obsessions. they are LotR and Twilight (and, to a lesser extent, the Office). i read quite a bit as well, and really enjoyed all of the books (yes, even Breaking Dawn).
i'm looking forward to the movie (even bought some of the overpriced merchandise) and i actually think they got the casting right.
i'm not easily offended. i had a couple little emo boys try to get me riled up when i was at hot topic purchasing the aforementioned overpriced merchandise, and i just kinda blinked at them. i think i have a pretty good head on my shoulders, i just tend to squeal/squeak/flail when i see anything about twilight (or watch the full-length trailer again).
i have two friends who are like-minded (as well as my sister) and aren't fangirl-ish to the point of mental retardation.
we might, however, be the sane exception. who knows..

Thanks for not getting upset! Yeah, you sound like realtively normal fan to me. It's the people who have no other obsessions...and don't even read...and talk in text language...that bug me.
I haven't even read Breaking Dawn yet, which is upsetting, because I'd like to be able to discuss it. I've heard about what happens though. Sounds sort of Mary-Sue-ish but I guess I'll have to check it out myself.

I would highly suggest forgetting that Breaking Dawn even exists. That's what I tried to do.
And really, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a Twilight fangirl. However, considering I'm a fangirl of about...EVERYTHING, is anyone really surprised about that?
But I'm not too worried about the movie, actually. I think it'll be done better than HP3, at any rate (I hated that movie so much, you don't even know. It was my fave book, and twas ruined). But yeah, I've been keeping up on all the released scenes and trailers and etc, and I think that it's not going to be bad.
Of course, I don't think anyone outside of the extreme (mostly idiotic) Twilight fanbase will go see the movie. It's just not being advertised well.
Also, may I say that the soundtrack is epic fail? Because it is.

The ONLY songs I approve of on that playlist are the Iron and Wine one (which is an AWESOME song... but what on earth does it have to do with Twilight?!) and the Muse one (ditto.)
Twilight isn't really one of my 'fandoms' per se, but I do derive enjoyment out of the series. And as weird as it sounds, I'm not going to be at all surprised if I end up liking the movie better than the books. The books have all that unnecessary, dull dialogue... of course it'll be cut in the movie.
Oh yeah, and for the record I LOVE the eviliguana Twilight Spoof!

....i actually really really like the soundtrack....
but, considering i'm the exception to some of the crazy-fangirl standards, this shouldn't surprise anyone...
anyways..
what is this spoof that there is talk of, hmm?

Eviliguana Spoof
Probably one of my favorites, so far.

That was definitely my favorite line of that whole thing.
Oh, has everyone seen the M^2 spoofs? Oh man, it's too good. Let me find them.
Twilight Part 1
Twilight Part 2. I laughed so hard at the fire, btw.
New Moon/Eclipse
That one is my favorite by far.
EDIT: Oh, there's some language, btw. I forgot to mention that.

I think my two favorite scenes in the eviliguana parody is 1) when Edward see's the "hot" girl and goes chasing after her yelling, "HEY I'M IMMORTAL!" and 2) the candybar scene. Bella is hiding her face and Edward is hiding the candy... hah!
LOL, Tar those are awesome!
The HP picture at the end of the second one...
Oh my word, I think I fell off my chair at the first motorcycle scene... XD And then the "I Kissed A Girl And I Liked It" LOLOLOL FTW.
But the Rosalie/Royce scene was my favorite.
"Look what you did to my moustache again Bella!"
Ahaahahaha... I'm so going to watch these again.

I actually thought the guy who played Jacob was really attractive.
But I have some trouble deciding whether I find the guy who played Charlie funnier, or the scene where Melanie goes "this is what happens inside every time I think of Edward!"
