Hearing Kit's voice, Lord and Lady Death made there way back indoors where a large group of guests had gathered in the ballroom. The two shuffled in toward the back of group anxious to hear Kit's announcement.

Jocelyn had been wandering among the roses when the sound of a piano being played filled her ears, it seemed like everyone had a special talent, she had yet to truly explore hers quite yet but she would save her drawings for later. Moving back into the mansion the words 'announcement' hit her and she hurried to the ballroom so that she could hear what Kit had to say.

Fragile immediately took her fingers from the piano keys when she heard their hostess's words. She turned to face the hostess, curious as to what this announcement might be.

"Having the musicians outside would be lovely" agreed The Horseman.
"Ah, our gracious hostess!" said he, upon spying Kit. "Good evening madam, I trust you are well" he asked politely.
Noticing the disgruntled look on Kit's face, he gathered things were not well, and perhaps he would need to run away again. Nervously he waited alongside her to see what she would do or say next.

"Coincidentally, one of my groundskeepers has a rather large pumpkin patch this year round and he's decided to dump all his surplus pumpkins on me. So we're going to have a Pumpkin carving contest out in the terrace since you've all had a good time exploring the mansion." Kit said, "There are sharp objects involved so people who may not do well with these things are advised to be very careful."
The Catch: This is a in-roleplay competition. Everyone should carve a pumpkin, and once you've "carved a pumpkin", I put your name in a drawing. At the end of the competition, I will a draw a random name from a hat as the "winner" and they are exempt from being accused as the murderer at the first (and first only) guess.

Pumpkins, how interesting. Ideas swirled around in her head as she thought about what she could carve. The mention of sharp objects was also very intriguing and she couldn't wait to get started with this task.

Fragile smiled. A pumpkin carving contest. How interesting. She did not care much for knives, but so long as she could use the excuse that it was art, it wouldn't be so bad. She stood up, smoothing out her rich, deep blue skirt.

Saffron had stopped dancing and had been lying down on the floor with eyes closed, enjoying Fragile's piano music. When Kit came in she sat up attentively. "Hm? Something wrong?" She pulled Winter up onto her lap; the cat had been dozing and wasn't particularly happy with being disturbed.

Tur headed out the door, spotting Kit. He found the rest of the guest clustered around the piano. The house seemed oddly quiet. There was no backround noise of servants or wafting smell of baked goods. He left to the drawing room, retrieved his MG, and returned, solemn-faced. "Is something wrong?" he asked, cocking the machine gun and folding away the bipod.
Once he heard the hostess's challenge, he slung the MG42 over his shoulder and nodded. "A challenge sounds great." he said, producing a switchblade from his boot. "Let's get carving.

"Pumpkins...fun," Saffron said with a grin. Ideas whirled through her head as she got up--somewhat groggily--and followed everyone else outside. She was pleased to find that the night air was crisp and clear, a welcome relief after being inside all day. "To be honest..." she started sheepishly to no one in particular, "I've only ever carved a pumpking once before."

Lady Death knew exactly what she wanted to carve in her pumpkin, and voiced her opinion to Lord Death. He was rather adamant about her not getting anywhere near any knives, and when she protested their discussion became rather heated. Not wanting to ruin the mood the two became stonily silent toward one another as they traipsed out to the grounds for the contest.

Kit smiled and clapped her hands, "Great. We'll meet outside soon and if you see any of the other guests on your way out, let them know as well. I'm going to grab my coat that isn't in the same closet as that [s]beastly[/s] gentle, sweet Eliza because I really cannot stand the cold!"

"Ye Gods!" yelped The Horseman. "I had forgotten about Eliza, you bad boy Algernon you" he said half to himself. "If we are all going to be outside, then surely she can come as well?" he asked pleadingly of Kit.
