Jocelyn had her crimson shawl wrapped around her shoulders and she knew that that would keep her warm enough, it was as if her skin was made for the cold weather, her skin the image of a cool palate as she walked out into the gardens, head moving side to side with the rhythm of a guitar she could hear.

As Elegost launched into his song Lady Death couldn't help stealing a glance at her husband. He smiled tentatively at her and that was enough for her unhappy mood to be swept away. As the grouped moved out toward the pumpkin patch she sang quietly along with the boisterous voice of Elegost leading the song.

Fragile pulled on her embroidered dark blue cloak as she hurried out the door, smiling brightly and humming along when she heard Elegost's song. "It's been far too long," she murmured under her breath.

Tur strode out into the grounds, singing along with Elegost under his breath, and opened his switch with a flick of his wrist as he arived at the pumpkin patch. He cast his eyes over the selection, and selected a bone-white pumpkin with a knurled stem.
Cutting it open in a buisnesslike manner, he scooped out the goopy mess within, thw ind howling in the backround. Dumping the innards of the pumpkin next to him, he replaced the top and carved two spirals into the side, the bright orange contrasting sharply with the white rind. When the spitals were finished, he carved a wavy shape to make a mouth, and, wiping his switchblade and folding it up after cleaning the cuts up a bit more, he exaimined his work.
The face was as white as ivory with two circular eyes that spiraled on on themselves. The wavy mouth gave the entire piece a mezmerizing look, as though one glance could hypnotize the unfortunate gazer. Chuckling at the idea, he put the pumpkin aside and nodded to the other guests.

Waddling out into the garden, Kit was covered in layers of coats and scarves and hats, all set for the chilly October weather. "Ah, I see some have started all ready, they're looking great so far." She heaved a box onto the table that had the knives all set out. "Here's a candle, Turwaithion. Set that in there and see how it looks all lit." She looked up at the dwindling light of the evening sky and watched the birds fly off away from the trees.

Tapping her foot a bit too the music, a broad smile stole over Aria's features. When the tune ended, she clapped loudly, acknowledging Elegost and the Horseman with another smile. "Bravo! A fine, cheering tune for a day like this."
The pumpkin carving contest sounded absolutely charming, although Aria rather doubted her skills with a blade. <i>It's just for fun</i>, she reminded herself. <i>You're not trying to impress anyone.</i>
"So there will be pumpkin pie then?" she laughed teasingly, as she headed outdoors.

Tur nodded in thanks and lit the candle. When it was placed in the jack-o'lantern, it gave the whole creation an eerie glow. "Valar." he breathed, struck by the night. "Tis' a lovely evening, eh?" he asked, showing his Canadian roots.

"Making pies is a great idea but I'm afraid I'm a horrible baker, if we're willing to make 'em together." Kit exclaimed. She shivered as there was a slight breeze. "Elegost, a bonfire would be most welcome now."
She turned and waved to Yusef who came promptly, "Do you mind getting some wood from the shed and start a fire?"
"....."
Kit paused, "... Or you could ask Milton to do that?'
"Yes, ma'am." Yusef bowed and left to inform the groundskeeper of the dirty work needed to be done.

To appease Lord Death, Lady Death allowed her husband to carve a design into a pumpkin whilst she stood by the box of knives next to Elegost observing the carving that was taking place. "That was some lovely singing," she said to him. "That song is one of my favourites. I hope we can expect more guitar playing from you in the future."

Saffron watched Tur like a hawk, noting exactly how he carved his pumpkin. She made her way over to the table where Kit had placed the knives, and she chose one, then selected a small pumpkin. She took a few deep breaths, then proceeded to carve her pumpkin. She was very clumsy with her knife, not being used to it, and it took her a while to get done. When she was finished, she stepped back to appraise her work. It was a very simple smiling face, the right eye about four times as large as the left, with a jagged smile. She laughed as she carried it over to the table. "It is a lovely night," she said. "I just wish I had remembered to bring my coat..."

Growing tired of dancing, MH and Haldir left the ballroom and headed for the kitchen area, looking for something to eat for dinner. Mrs. Haldir wondered if the mansion had a TV..with cable. She remembered that the mansion had a billard room and they normally had TVs.
"I would like to go to the billard room now love," she said.
"As you wish," Haldir replied and they left room and walks through the hall and for the desired room and walked inside.
(I'm off to watch Game 6 of the ALCS, my team is still in it so I've been glueing myself to the TV, see you all later)

Fragile selected a large, rounded pumpkin. She had never been that enthusiastic about being stared at by her pumpkins, so instead she started to carve an intricate leaf design. Her movements were slow and careful, and she held the knife gingerly, as though afraid of it. She held her breath each time she made a particularly delicate design.

The Horseman had finished his carving and was smoothing the insides to it was just as pretty as the outside.
It showed two people dancing a waltz in the good old days where dancing was the height of social gathering. A chandelier hung above the couple and even an orchestra could be seen in the background. The lady was bejwelled and clothed in a simple but beautiful material and the gentleman looked as dashing as gentlemen did in those days. Apart from the fact he had no head, there was nothing peculiar about them at all, and it was easy to forget they were simply carved into a vegetable.
The Horseman clasped his hands and sighed as he gazed at his art.
