Placing her elbows on the table in a most unlady-like fashion, Indilwen cradled her head in her hands. "That was rather blunt..." she said to herself. "Yes, she was murdered... drowned in the fountain... murderer is unknown... and she 'came back to us'. The whole thing is terribly confusing and frightening," she mumbled.

"She had a cat?" cried Eä, looking up with purple cookie crumples in the corner of her mouth.
"I swear I saw a soaked cat on my way here, which isn't odd really.. as a cat has every right to wander about as any other animal, but I noticed because I stopped to read his mind and then I noticed his fur was moist and I gave up on my intention because you know..."
She looked about to see if her intelligent listeners were still following the theories of Mind Reading.
"...water and moist is a dead stopper for the channel when reading a mind and everyone knows how cats are such a complicated studies..."

Eä found her glance fixed on the Headless Horseman, her feelings a mix of great curiosity and genuine fascination, while she continued her ramblings on MR.

"But in fact I'm not too sure whether it was wet now I think about it... or at least that's what it looked like. Or maybe it was dried off... yeah, actually I'm quite sure that it looked exactly like someone had blowdried it... or dried it in the microwave... his poor fur was all electric..."

"We will probably never know.." Fluffy sighed while pouring herself another mug of coffee. She looked at the others while they all sat crammed around the small kitchen table. "About the cat.." she suddenly said as a new idea popped up within her. "Couldn't we lure it.. with some milk?"

Ea's talk of mind-reading made Indilwen sit upright again. "A cat..." she murmured. "Maybe it's a clue? But there could be many cats about, you never know." She let out a light sigh and looked over at The Headless Horseman. "True, but still... she was looking for her, and then she gets told that she's dead... suddenly, without warning... but I suppose that's the way things must be." She nodded, as if now convinced of what she said. "We must be on the lookout for that murderer... random insane wanderer or not."

She sighed dreamingly.
"Drowned in the fountain, it's so romantic..."
Her voice trailed off and she clearly pulled herself together. Her face adopted a stern expression.

"If I could meet with the ghost of the deceased I could try to read her mind. It would work well for the case-study in the paper I have to hand in next week."

(I really wasn't intending on posting this morning... but I have something that must be said. If the hilariousness doesn't let up, I shall be turning into an Algernon fangirl, as weird as it sounds. *has keeled over a million times from one certain post*)

Aria was up with a cup of tea in one hand, but feeling rather antisocial at the moment. So she crept off to the ballroom, after making sure there were no more dead bodies in the fountain, and proceeded to spend some very pleasant hours practicing on the beautiful piano. Rachmaninoff's <i>Prelude in C Sharp Minor</i> wafted down the halls, and she completely lost herself in it's haunting melody.

"Yeah, who wouldn't", Eä replied to the Horseman's answer. "And this is exactly what makes this case-study so interesting. I rarely get to practise on ghosts."

Eä stole a glance at the Horseman or rather at his missing head.

"Within the theoretical framework of Mind Reading there are schools arguing that the head must be a clear part of the body in order for a successful reading.. however, opponant schools believe that the mind is not neccessarily a fixed part of the head."

She cleared her throat.

"I thank you for your kind invitation to a gay board game, but I will pass for now. Perhaps you will allow me to be an overseer, so I can be looking out for our ghost, whom I'm dying to meet."
A flash of green and purple passed over her eyes as she eagerly licked her lips.

"Poor Saffron" Fluffy muttered. "She will never be able to eat cookies again.." She looked at her 4th chocolate chip cookie and decided that she would eat it since Saffron couldn't do that anyway..

Nienna awoke in her room, looked around and then got up, hoping that today, she would have more luck in finding the members of her family of Herenya's Line that came to the party. She headed down to the Library again, tempted by the many books that she had not yet explored.
