Pardon, my good Horseman. *bows*
Yes, it makes it convenient to see the death toll, er, I mean... the number of people dead and alive...
Edit: True, we could be the "guide dawgs." At least we'd have a cool name.

Thank you! It is the Hallowfest, after all... I'm allowed to be a little morbid for once.

That would be most morbid.
Who could the murderer be? *thinks* I've had some ideas, but I'm sure they're waaay off.

In reply to what Fluffy said in the mansion.
Quote: Hmm, listen up guys.. I'm just brainstorming right now.. I talked to some people and I think that alot people can agree that this is moving kinda fast. Wouldn't it be an idea to have an maximum-posting limit each day for every person? I heard some people already dropped out because of the speed this is moving.. which I kinda understand. We all love JFsie to death with her summaries, but of course it's more fun to actually participate in this than reading summaries to catch up.. what are your thoughts?
To be perfectly honest, today there have been only 2 pages posted and a little bit of a third, so I'm not sure if this classifies as being too fast. Last night was manic mainly because for most, it would be the last night of freedom AND something rather big did happen (and truthfully, I honestly don't care if you guys post 50+ everyday, as if you're having a good time, I'm still happy to do my task which I, and I alone, decided to do, so don't slow down of my account. I'll be fine. *huggles*). Most of the talk is just for fun anyway, and today no-one has really posted anything huge and complicated that can't be read through if people will just take a few minutes. It's like most threads on AU, it's nice to know what others have said before you post yourself.
I think to limit people to the amount of posts would be kind of wrong really. What do you do if you've just used your 15th post limit and then you find you have something important to post?
I'm also guessing it will be quite slow for the days when people are at school (I think today has been incredibly slow, so if people find today fast... there is really nothing anyone can do to help those people) so it will be the weekends when things might go slightly crazy again.
I understand my summaries don't give people the "feel" of the Hallowfest, but I do get the impression no matter what speed it is at, someone, somwhere would still find it too fast.
I know to the people that have felt lost or wanted to drop out because of the speed, my post may seem harsh and possibly contains no comfort whatsoever, and I am sorry for those who feel like this, but I can't honestly think what can be done about it.
All I can say is, if ever there is anything earth-shatteringly major that has happened, I will be here to post in this thread what it is. Then you can come here and go "nope, nothing happened today" and then you can jump into the mansion as no doubt you do with other threads and conversations on AU.
I don't know if that is any use at all, but I am seriously trying to think of ways here to make it better for everyone.
I'm just sorry I haven't come up with anything yet.
Top Tip For Keeping Up With Posting:
- Always preview what you have written, so when your preview post appears you can move down and see the thread and whether anybody has posted since you started typing. This way you won't miss any new posts and have to bother editing your submitted text, you can edit it right there.

The Headless Horseman wrote: Whoa, much more happening today. And at 5.15 am, if it wasn't for the fact I am designating tomorrow as pumpkin carving day (need it done in one day or it goes droopy), I would have left this for tomorrow. Same as usual. Some of it won't be of value some of it will. 19th October Summary Harry Dresdenannounced that there was a room on the second level that contained doors which upon opening, took the visitor right back to the same room.
Jocelyn A. Rose awoke to find that she had drawn a picture in her sleep of a figure and beside the figure was a body (neither male or female) lying against the floor in a pool of blood.
Saffron Orange was found face down in the fountain in the garden by the servants. Next to the fountain was a very old map, so old it depicted that the world was flat.
Saffron'sbody was taken into The Dining Room by Turwaithion.
The general opinion changed from murder by guest and do the chicken-dance-in-panic-mode to perhaps there was an accident or it was an outsider who murdered Saffron.
Some guests decided they would move about it groups just in case.
Many guests withdrew to The Drawing Room to partake in tea and cakes.
Lady Death suggested an exploration of the nearby Graveyard.
Kitoky had Saffron's body moved to the morgue.
Winter the cat has disappeared.
Lady Death suggested playing hide and seek in the graveyardand The Headless Horseman provided the fairy lights.
Fragile Silence won the pumpkin carving contest.
The ghost of Saffron Orange appeared whilst the game was being played.
There is a possibility that The Headless Horseman is gay although he might deny that.
The Headless Horseman volounteered to try and touch Saffron the Ghost and was promptly plunged through her by Kitoky (who is very strong for someone so ..er.. *ahem*)
A bonfire was lit for the guests as they waited for Saffron to reappear with news of what happened to her.
Saffron appeared and said she was asleep in bed, when she was knocked unconscious and dragged out of the bed. She said she had trouble falling asleep.
Many theories prevailed as to why the killer would drag a body downstairs and how come no-one heard them. And what does the map mean? These are some of the suggestions:
- Saffron's body was thrown out of the window and either landed exactly at the fountain (without cracking her skull open) or landed on the lawn and then was dragged and drowned
- A secret passageway that only the killer knows about, could have made it possible that she was dragged downstairs and no-one heard the killer
- A crazed sailor (map + water)
- A historian (old map)
- A pirate (old map + water)
- A POTC Fan (map + fountain + water + pirate = Fountain Of Youth)
- It's all a red herring
Well, I'm basically lokig as though it was me. IT WAS'T ME! I SWEAR!

@ Horseman:
Well I just wanted to hear people's thoughts on this. I agree with you that today was utterly slow but I won't be surprised that if I wake up there will be 10 extra pages
No, I actually meant that last weekend alot of pages have been posted. And I spoke to some people who thought that they couldn't manage to read through all of it and therefore decided to drop out which would be a shame. What I enjoyed from last year was digging through all the previous post to unravel clues but when people just read a summary I understand that it is somewhat different and more difficult to participate.
I realise that posting limits is no solution but one of the criteria for this years Hallowfest was to slow it down by stretching over 2 weeks. So perhaps people just have to 'slow down' just like yesterday night when alot of pages have been posted..
I don't mean to complain, but just to bring it up because I hope that the Hallowfest will be a success for everyone.

I think your idea of 'slow-down' periods is a good idea, like last night. (Frankly, Kit NEEDED to send us to bed. ) Nothing more was going to happen and mindless babble throughout the night wouldn't do anyone good. As long as there are no set rules, like 'x number of posts' or 'no posting from x pm to x am' then I'm okay with some regulation now and then. After all, we have to take time zones and things like that into consideration.

I agree with what JF said. One point I would like to add: the plot isn't going fast, just the posting is. Let's face it: all that's really happened is we've hung out and partied, and meanwhile one person has been murdered and come back to haunt us. Everything else is just random chatter, which you can jump into at any time, whenever you have half an hour or so. I can definitely understand the frustration of wondering where in the world everyone is (I had a very bad experience with an RPG that involved one or two people totally commandeering the plot and staying up all night every night posting while the rest of us were in bed), but just reading one or two pages should give you an idea of the immediate setting, and the summaries should keep you up on the plot. I do also agree though that if nothing but total goofy babble is taking place, it needs to be slowed down.
These are just my words though, and I definitely think if anyone else has some concerns, they should state them. I've managed to be extremely active, due to Fall Break, so I don't really have much room to speak from the side of those who are at school today.

I don't know. I mean, I'm being eaten alive by school just with everyone else, so I am definitely empathetic with people not having a lot of time on their hands. But really, I've managed to multi-task as best I could.
I mean, come on, I'm on Pacific time, so I'm even behind everyone else, most people are done and offline by the time I even get on. But I really can't imagine asking people to put a limit on their posts just because it was inconvenient for me. That wouldn't be fair to them.
Anyway, this is always going to happen. So many people being involved and all. And even though I do read everyone's posts, I think that JF's summaries are way more helpful to know what's going on.
Did I ever mention how much I love you, JF?

That sums up my feelings perfectly.
