I agree with you, Fragile. I think that Jocelyn's a little too obvious to be the killer, although I could be wrong. She might be covering up for the actual killer, who's acting as innocent as can be. It's just a thought.

He said that the cat, Winter, was wandering around sadly as if looking for her mistress or something like that, and I think he may have picked her up. Kit came back and specified that the cat couldn't be found, and he edited that part out of his post.

Thanks for filling me in, well, that's why I didn't notice when I browsed the pages about Saffron's death the other day.
I have another theory.. the killer might not want to participate in the discussion of this... delicate topic, but really that's a theory I should have saved for myself... now I kinda ruined it.
Anyway, I think I'm off to bed soon. My guess would still be Elegost if you end up voting on it or something.

I think so too...but it does seem obvious, doesn't it?
At this point I'm really not sure. The cat, the flowers, Twilight, certainly they're all significant...but it's hard to tell exactly how.
And about someone who hates Twilight killing Lady Death--I can see it happening. What better way to kill someone you despise than putting them to death the worst way you can imagine--drowning in Twilight?

I think it may be Tur.
I will not give away all my cards but I think he plays it well. I still couldn't figure out what the cat or the flowery smell have to do with him..
any suggestions?

I think the issue with the cat kind of "exhonorated" Thion for me, even though that part got deleted. The cat would probably be repelled by him if it were present at the murder and saw him killing her master. It wouldn't want to be picked up by him. Then again, I could be totally wrong.

Or.. he did know that the cat was a clue meant by Kit but didn't know he wasn't allowed to Godmod it..

Map I also saw as history, or historian,
Water I see as the seas, something naturey, and ironic because of the cat, but not sure if that is important
Cat missing, probably taken away so that the cat would not give away who the killer was, because they would avoid and hiss at whoever killed Saffron
Twilight books I feel it was someone who hates the books, since Lady Death was looking into them, and wanted a closer look they would have the books toppled onto them...
The flower scent, maybe the pages of the book were laced with some kind of smell that would cause Lady Death to pass out and then the killer toppled the books onto them?
As for my vote... still deciding once I hear the rest of your clues... but I am thinking Elegost or Tur at the moment or Taur... if the books were resting with a secret passageway behind it, she was the first to mention them...

I think the clues are not to tell us how the murder was committed but to describe the murderer instead.
We all think that "water" is connected to POTC but it could also be Middle Earth as the Elves sail over water to the Undying Lands and I thought the Valar came to Middle Earth over sea?

I believe the disappearance of the cat the FIRST time, is actually of great importance as to why she disappeared the second time.
I also think Jocelyn is waaaay too obvious, because from day one, she stuck out because of all her vague referances to somethings that has happened to her that she doesn't like and/or can't control. The mention of red, blood, crimson etc in every post, could either be really sneaky and that's why there has never been any signs of blood by the bodies, because of that. Or it could just be she has a quite strange character.
As we all knew from the start of Hallowfest when the first guess would be, the chances of everyone guessing the most obvious (being Jocelyn at this moment), why would the killer risk being so obvious in the hope of avoiding detection, when with one guess... game over.
These are my reasons why I don't think she is the killer. I have no ideas as yet as to anyone else.... but I believe 80% of the clues are shielded, vague and not to be taken at what they seem at first glance.

Actually, I couldn't think of anything interesting to write. xD
Maybe the murderer's playing with my mind...O.o
Anyways, Kit told me to stress the fact that Winter was missing...so...yeah. I just keep making Saff mention her 'cause I want to write in-character. *Nods*
So, Tur seems pretty suspicious to me write now, because of the whole historian thing, staying up all night, etc. But how could we tie him into the death of Lady Death? (*irony-induced snicker*) He's a guy, and guys don't tend to like the Twilight books so much...hmm...if he happens to be the sadistic sort of killer, he might try to kill someone in a way that he considers torturous. And being squashed by Belly is definately torturous.
I was also suspicious of Tar-Samara for a while, because her suggestion of the PotC suggestion, which seemed rather far-fetched at first. But right now I'm leaning more towards Tur.
Jocelyn...seems to be a bit detached from the rest of us--she doesn't participate much in conversations and the sort. And she does mention--and emphasize--the words blood, crimson, red, morbid, etc. But I'm not sure if that qualifies her as a killer.

If you check out Tur's profil you'll find he does like Twilight and if you then check his profile he sent to Kit he claims dat he does not likes drowning.
Still don't know about the cat and the flowers though. The Simbelmynë seems too far-fteched to me because there's no specifique connection to Tur apart from a LOTR theme.
The missing tools can stress his unhealthy weapon obsession?

I really think that the Twilight was from someone who hates them... although I could be wrong.
Lady Death mentioned that she was curious about the book and was reaching for one, about to open it up and take a look, unless this was simply Lady Death's take and not supposed to be stressed than if she was about to look into the books, the killer would want to kill her so she didn't read it...
Though it could also be someone who likes Twilight as well... as for the drowning, it is curious... but why would he drown someone if he hates it... that all aside I think Tur is a good guess as well.
He is so adament that he isn't the killer...

That was just my take on it, Joccie. I didn't mean to confuse anyone in that respect. I just needed a reason to be near Twilight books in the first place. It was all to stage my death.
I think Tur's profile is rather conclusive and interesting. Although I was convinced at one time that Elegost was the killer [due to the connection between the Christopher Columbus map and his real name - Chris] but I'm going to assume those are mere coincidences. I think Tur is definitely suspect right now.
