I'm a mod? Really?
I don't expect to get very far with this, but I'll see how I go. *deep breath*
1. I’m Herenya
2. I’m very good at rambling on about stuff
3. I don’t have an evil mod name (I’ve been informed this is mandatory)
4. I know a few people who have decided to call me H’enya or Renya.
5. Herenya says: no comment.
6. I’m a new mod…
7. I joined the site last September… I’ve been over here a year!
8. In 4 months time I’ll legally be able to drink, drive (though not in that order), vote, die for my country (ha! As if!) and be gaoled if I stuff up in the process of being involved in the above acts, etc… sounds exciting, I think not!
9. I really don’t intend to do anything on the above, except maybe drive
10. I’ll the last one of my school friends (not that I have [s]m[/s]any…) to get my learners… and they are all younger than me!
11. I don’t see the point of learning to drive, anyway. The way the world’s going, I’ll never be able to afford a car – let alone the petrol!
12. I’m obsessed with reading… I suffer withdrawal symptoms if I don’t read enough
13. I’ve read 933 books in the last 4 and a half years.
14. I read a lot of different books. Lately all the books I’ve read have had dragons in them (I’m working my way through the dragonriders of pern series). I love historical romance and murder mysteries from the mid-20th century
15. I have a long time of murder mysteries along my wall (they are not mine) and I am slowly working my way thorough them
16. They were on the floor because there’s no room on my bookshelf
17. I made a makeshift bookshelf out of chocolate-wafer tins and a couple of pieces of wood.
18. My bookshelf is still exploding. It’s already two-books-deep with books shoves in weird places
19. Nobody buys me books. (except friend, who gives me ones she gets from OP shops sometimes.. if she already has a copy) I therefore acquire them – a lot a second hand library rejects
20. I bought 36 books from OP shops in the space of 4 days… cost me no more than $15
21. I love libraries. I spend a lot of time in them.
22. I have got in trouble with all the librarians at my school, mostly for borrowing AFTER the bell. (Horrendous crime, that is)
23. One’s given up trying to get me to change my ways, which is a relief. I had an argument with her over dragging a comfy chair to my corner (which isn’t a corner) and forgetting to return it. Now I have a squeaky wooden chair. I’m kind of attached to it.
24. But the librarians sometimes ignore my fines… or let me borrow when I have an overdue book, which is nice.
25. I like writing stories. I want to be an author one day…
26. Correction, I will be an author one day. Whether or not I write anything decent is another matter
27. I have an idea for two stories that are sort-of historical, but not quite. It’s era of history that doesn’t exist stuff…
28. I’m good at sounding like I know what I’m talking about… however, I hate writing essays. They give me writer’s block.
29. I’m good at them, though, so I shouldn’t really complain.
30. For some unknown reason my Literature teacher wanted a copy of my “All Quiet on the Western Front” essay.. she seemed to think it was well written. Each to their own, I guess.
31. I enjoy complaining. I just have to remember that it can irritate other people
32. I think I’m a Type A and an introvert-neurotic, not that either of them are decent personality theories.
33. I was learning about personality theories in Psych. Now we are learning about attitudes.
34. It’s fairly slow. I have to remember to smuggle blank paper (to scribble over), a novel or my iPod to class to survive
35. I like listening to music. I think I do it as compulsively as I read.
36. My parents don’t particularly like my iPod. “Those white things in your ears are a physical barrier”.
37. But at least this way they don’t have to listen to my music.
38. Not that my music is bad. I like a lot of celtic, and classical.
39. I just figured out how I can plug my iPod into my cassette player and play music via that. I’m very proud of myself for figuring out that…
40. I had to clean the cassette player first… I’ve been playing my parent’s cassettes, which are kind of dirty…
41. It’s called evil central-Australian dirt…don’t ask me how it got all through their tapes…
42. Their “Moody Blues” tape won’t work properly… and I can’t find the Don Mclean one…
43. I’m complaining again. *shuts up*
44. I like downloading music videos. At the moment, I’m on the look-out for Doctor Who ones
45. I only really like the ninth doctor. My sister’s obsessed with them all… knows the names of all the actors, and everything, even though she hasn’t seen all of them
46. But at the moment, my entire family is quoting “Red Dwarf”
47. I’m not sure how we are going to watch the third series. The library doesn’t have it.
48. I’m obsessed with the Cat’s song “Tongue-tied”. It’s absolutely hilarious!
49. Understand me when I say … Bedurble-diggle-doggle-dooby-doggle-durgle-day
50. But you have to see it for it to make any sense… anyway, Red Dwarf is highly recommended.
51. I’ve made it to fifty…
52. I’m supposed to be doing homework now. Mainly history
53. I have a history exam in less than three weeks
54. I’m not really scared
55. Actually, I’m scared that I’m not really scared
56. and stressed that I can’t get stressed enough about it to seriously study
57. so when I stop this I plan to look at notes on the French Revolution, and go back to planning essays on crises in new regimes
58. My rabbit died a week ago… we still have two… but it was really sad
59. I keep on dreaming that one of the other ones is dying
60. and we don’t know why Misty died… if it was something we were doing wrong…
61. I’ve lived with rabbits for over half my life. I like them.
62. I think I sound like I’m ten when I’m writing this. Great.
63. I’m not exactly a very socially confident person. Unless it’s someone I can talk to about books.
64. I like to talk about books… I drove my family up the wall by going on about “Alleyn” from Ngaio Marsh’s murder mysteries, and then I kept on talking about “Troy”… she’s a bit more interesting than him in some ways.
65. At the moment, I’m plotting to get my hands on “Gaudy Night” by Dorothy L Sayers. Another murder mystery.
66. I’m annoyed that the copyright hasn’t lapsed on it yet.
67. L.M Montgomery’s books it has. And the Brontes, and a quite a few other authors.
68. you can download the etexts off the net LEGALLY.
69. That made me very happy, and saved me reborrowing “The Blue Castle”…
70. Also Voltaire’s work is available. He was one of the French philosophes… but I don’t think I’ll try to read it. It’ll probably just confuse me further.
71. And I thought I understood the French Revolution
72. I understand Russia… I get what made Lenin tick.
73. I went through all the handouts we were given and coloured everyone’s eyes in blue…
74. now I’m telling you that I act like a ten year old…
75. I’m not… I’m supposedly intelligent.
76. But I’m hopeless at pronouncing words. What hope do I have at a foreign language when I can’t speak English properly???
77. But I’m good at German grammar…
78. Deutsch Grammatik gefallt mir sehr gut und interessant.
79. I think that’s right. I’m missing an umlaut, but…
80. This’ll do for now.
81. I didn’t expect to make it past 80
82. I certainly don’t expect anyone to read past no. 5
83. I think I’ve proven that I’m good at rambling on
84. I made myself a website for that purpose
85. Herenya’s Ramblings
http://www.freewebs.com/herenya
86. It’s a great thing to procrastinate on. I like procrastinating. That’s what I’m doing now…
87. and doing personality quizzes. I’ve spent half the afternoon being informed that I am “Daine” or “Alanna”. I’m not sure what to think of this.
88. I actually think I’m more like Tris.
89. I didn’t intend to use the Trisana banner when I made it… but it’s not completely awful, so I am.
90. It’s too green, apparently. Siblings are such honest critics.
91. I prefer the colour blue. I wear enough green during the week for me…
92. school uniform’s are annoying things, but you get used to them
93. I’m also almost at 100, so I guess I’ll keep on going…
94. I’m listening to “The Old Ways”. I downloaded a 30 sec preview off Loreena McKennitt’s website, became addicted to this song, and had the album shipped out from Canada
95. ^ it was cheaper to do that, and buy the version with the free DVD, than to buy it here
96. that’s the only thing I’ve ever bought off the internet…
97. *sings* “you sang as you flew”
98. I’m obsessed with flying. I dream about it. A lot.
99. I’d become a pilot, I’d think, but my eyesight wouldn’t be good enough
100. I can’t become a sharp-shooter in the army either… not that I wanted to do that
101. I don’t really have a clue what I want to do with my life. Except write
102. that scares me. Some days I think I’d like to have a secure, normal job… and then I remember that something monotonous would send me insane
103. Not that I’m not that already. Though one year of school, I was the only one out of my friends who didn’t have psychological problems…
104. they both dropped out by the end of that year, and I had the fun of being all by myself… I lived in the library for quite a while…
105. I really, really have to do history revision, so I’m stopping here and shutting up.
106. honestly
107. sorry for rambling on so much
108. and sorry for apologising about it. I was only following the example set by other mods…
109. Signs off… that was, Herenya
110. is, I mean
111. :p
