Taevi hesitated a moment, then rose to his feet. He gave slight look of distrust, but allowed Deawen to lead him. Going outside would be good for a bit, he supposed. He'd begun to crave the warmth of the sun.

Valya heard the voices coming from the supply room, and she guessed they came from the woman and the dwarf who had rushed through the room beforehand. Shaking her head, she walked towards the supply room and opened the door.
"What's going on in here?" A sentence like that would have sounded threatening from anyone else but the mild-mannered healer; she queried the pair politely and, as usual, very quietly. But she was no pushover. She guessed that the woman was trying to peform an operation on herself.

"What did I say about distractions? That includes the bloody healers, Grair!" Maethoriel spat from gritted teeth as she continued stitching her wound, not even bothering to acknowledge the woman's question. She was obviously busy, the healer could see that, no reason to be bothered now.

"She came in before I could even look out, Maethoriel. Silent you are not," he responded in an irritated manner, one brow raised and his mouth pulled into a frown.

"Fine, tell her to go away," the half-elf responded her eyes still trained on the diminishing wound.

"She can bloody well hear you, you dunce," the dwarf said.

"Technicalities," the woman muttered.

"'m sorry, miss," Grair attempted, raising a hand in greeting, "we're just doing a bit of a fix up before running a few more errands. The lass doesn't know how to properly interact with people..." his sentence was cut off by the half-elf who was not so preoccupied as it seemed.

"I do to! I just choose to ignore propriety and all those obnoxious rules, it makes my life easier," she said smugly, falling quiet after, her mouth pursed and brow furrowed in concentration once more.

"You just like making things hard," the dwarf grumbled. "As I was saying, miss," he continued shooting a sharp look to the woman on the table, "we shall be leaving shortly."

"Don't look at me as if at any moment I am going to cut your throat..." Deawen said quietly as they stepped out of the bleached room into an open corridor. The gardens were empty save for the few birds that flittered around. Deawen sat down on a bench in a patch of sunlight letting the rays of the sun warm her suddenly cold limbs. She watched Taevi quietly but not openly she sensed from him that he did not liked to be stared at. Instead her bright blue eyes wandered all over the garden. For some nagging reason she wanted to be his friend, but she was willing to wait.

Taevi let out a long, lingering sigh through his lips that rustled his untidy hair slightly. The sound seemed odd coming from him, despite the fact that it was so subtle. His grey eyes watched Deawen sit, but he didn't join her. He wandered off a bit, intensely aware of the bright sun on his body and the throbbing in his shoulder.
He paused a moment, staring down over the balcony that overlooked the rest of the city below. So many people... The half-blood wrinkled his nose slightly at this.

Deawen gave Taevi a wide berth of area, remaining seated on her bench. She picked a few blades of grass and began to weave them into shapes and knots. She kept herself seemingly preoccupied but in truth she was still watching Taevi. She saw him walk over to the balcony and peer over, she saw the slight distaste at what he saw. She rose to her feet and walked over to him. " Crowded isn't it? I don't like it either, being trapped in a stone city." She commented smoothly, " I prefer the open, rolling hills and the like." pointing to the north. " What do you like Taevi?" she asked turning gazing at him kindly.

Taevi felt her eyes on him and turned his gaze to watch her point northwards. A small, quiet noise murmured in his throat, his eyes narrowing at the horizon as though it had personally offended him. The expression flittered away in a second, though, and his face softened.

What do you like, Taevi?

He shrugged his narrow shoulders slightly. "The sea," was his quiet response. His tone was almost wistful. Oh, he remembered the sea... The endless expanse of rolling waters was a comforting thought in his mind, a vast quilt of blue and green and grey. The smell of the salt air, the sand shifting under his feet, the long hours spent stitching together the holes in the fisherman's nets with his brother... Something about the latter thought made his hands clench against the balcony's railing.

Deawen smiled at his responce, though she would never have guessed that the sea would have held such power over him. She saw Taevi as one who would love the woods, the secrets they held and endless wandering. But no she could see now that the sea fit him perfectly, he was just as moody as the sea.
"You have seen the the sea then?" Deawen asked more rheotorically than anything else. She absently flicked a leaf off the balcony and watched it float down in spirals.

Taevi didn't respond, but instead shot her a look, elegant features furrowed, as if to say Of course I've seen it! He continued to hold his silence for a moment until he felt a little guilty for scowling at her. The girl was just trying to be friendly, even if she was intent on making him talk with all her trivial questions.

"Haven't you?" he added.

Deawen threatened to return hs scowl, but then he spoke and she laughed slightly "Aye I have." she smiled " scared me witless." she admitted truthfully " I have never seen so much water in all my life."

Shockingly, the slightest ghost of a smile haunted Taevi's face. He shook his head and fell silent again, watching the people below curiously.

(( I'm gonna slow down here a bit so Mae and Goldleaf can catch up... ))

Valya looked on in amusement as the two people conversed between themselves.
"A fix up?" she said, raising her eyebrows after Grair had spoken to her. "I don't think you're properly qualified to do that. You would make matters much better for yourself if you let me have a look at that wound, otherwise you'll risk infection, which could get nasty."
Valya folded her arms, standing still.

"See, Thorn. I told you that it would be troublesome," Grair said childishly - his comrade had a strange suspicion that had he been a younger dwarf he might have stuck out his tongue.

"So you did. And I shall say the same thing to her as I said to you. I have been doing this time out of memory, I am well qualified to put a few stitches in," the woman said with a lospided grin that faded as quickly as it arrived considering that it felt strange. She swung off the table with relative ease, hissing a bit as her feet hit the ground and jolted her side. She twisted her neck until it cracked.

The dwarf rolled his eyes. "Honestly lassie, now you are just being annoying," he said.

"You say that no matter what I do, Grair. It is the wondrous paradox that is our friendship," she shot back. "Now, I could go for a bit of alcohol, I do believe I am quite finished. It was a pleasure to meet you," she continued nodding to the healer.

The dwarf laughed good naturedly and patted her back.

Valya tutted, shaking her head.
"With all respect," she said to the woman, "stitching up your own wounds is highly dangerous. I'll wager that you didn't even put them in properly." She still barred the doorway. "And I'd appreciate it if you didn't rush into the supply room without asking - I'd much prefer it if you just came to me when you needed something like this done. It's really no bother." Her blue gaze blazed at them both, though she was only 19 and her voice still remained relatively soft, she had the air of a strict school teacher.

It pleased Deawen to see Taevi smile, even if it was a ghost of one. IT was still a smile. "Where did you come from?" Deawen asked suddenly, looking at him.

Taevi paused for a long while, so long that it seemed he might not give her an answer. In truth, he almost didn't. The half-elf pondered her question, wondering whether she was asking about his home, or... where they had found him. His eyes clouded a little - that was not a topic for discussion. Not in the slightest. He settled on the first option. "Minhiriath, in Eriador," he replied, then specified, "To the west, just beyond Eryn Vorn. Between the dark forest and the sea..." It was the most he'd spoken in nearly a month.

(( btw, a quick bio for my boy -

Name: Taevi Xanalas
Age: 50 years old (mentality and appearance are that of a 20-year-old)
Appearance: Tawny blonde hair, stormy grey-blue eyes, delicate features, sleek build, lightly muscled.
