Charlie was hillarious. And Melanie's interpretation of Bella was just endlessly hillarious. The tripping...the overdramaticness...oh, it was funny.
I especially like the "fan reaction" to "Robert Pattinson" saying he didn't want to have their children.

I died to both their exaggerations. The fact the Medya (I cannot spell her name for the life of me) gave Edward an accent cracked me up. Especially the "god, I can't even get drunk! I CAN'T EVEN CRY!"
Anyway, yeah. There's like, two weeks until Twilight comes out. That's INSANE.

I know!! *runs around hopelessly in circles*
Sadly I probably won't get to see it in theatres because none of my friends around here like Twilight, and the only ones who do are such hopeless Twilight fangirls that they'd probably scar me for life from all the screaming, and I don't want to go by myself. <s>So I'll probably watch a pirated copy or something.</s> (You didn't just here me say that. FM ish good. )

[*gaspeth* FM! I have [s]totally done that[/s] never done that! Shame.]
But yeah, all my friends were supposed to go see the midnight showing, but I quickly put a damper on those plans, because I pointed out the odds of all the... [s]freaking crazy[/s]...[s]completely psycho[/s]... enthusiastic fangirls.

I saw Twilight for the first time this afternoon and thought it was okay. I've read all the books and LOVE them, so I guess I knew I'd be disappointed...it was just a matter of how much.
I was most upset about how Edward was portrayed. Too moody. Not gentlemanly enough. It just didn't seem like Edward at all.

i really really enjoyed it, except, you know, to include everything it would have been like 6 hours long..i still woulda seen it...
my only problem, that would have been solved by making it super long, was that there was next to no time spent developing bella's relationships with anyone besides edward, and kind of her parents...alice has like 4 lines in the whole thing...
oh, but:
"that's jasper. he's the one who looks like he's in pain."
major lawlz there.

^I liked that line, too, I just wish they would've explained WHY he always looks like he's in pain. Am I the only one who thought Jasper was protrayed as a nerd?
I, too, wish the Cullens could've had more screen time and development.

lol, yeah poor Jasper
(maybe he was portrayed as a nerd. but I like nerds : D)
I do wish the cullen's had more time as well
did anyone else think they portrayed Edward... weirdly?
In the book he's so eloquent, and gentlemen like.
Also, I LOVED Carlisle! he was amazing!
and I thought Mike was adorable! : )

^Yes, Carlisle was brilliant. Just how I pictured him.
Mike was cute, but Eric was...weird.
I also agree with you about Edward. Gwenneth wrote: Too moody. Not gentlemanly enough. It just didn't seem like Edward at all. I didn't really get the feeling that Edward was 100 years old, he lacked maturity.

Ok, I'm probably the newest Twilight convert on here. Yesterday I caved and bought the book, and today I saw the movie...
I haven't finished the book, but I read/flipped through enough to get a good feel for the plot. That said, There were parts that didn't match up in the movie, but it doesn't bother me. I can see a movie based off a book and notice changes, but it's still a good movie.
I enjoyed it. I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie (in the theatre at least) where I was wanting pressed-up-against-the-wall kisses and all that from almost the start.
Vampire baseball = freaking awesome, btw.
Oh, and Carlisle = dreamy. LOL He might be better than Edward.
Mike wasn't baby faced like in the book, but the actor was cute. And Eric... didn't picture him as being Asian. Oh well, gotta have some diversity, I guess?
James = hot stuff. He's the bad guy, but... when he was shirtless I was like, woo! Yum! Bahaha there's some flair on facebook saying something along the lines of "I'll be your snack anytime".

The vampire baseball was probably my favorite part. It was so cool to watch. This sounds really weird, but just watching Alice pitch so gracefully made me think, "Yes, this really is Alice." Made me believe she was the real thing.
I wish I could be like you, Earyende, in the way you watch movies. I become so critical, and can't stand even the slightest change from book to movie. But this time I was able to relax a little more compared to when I saw Prince Caspian. I was REALLY mad walking out of the theater at the movie, since it was pretty different from the book.

I am the same way Earyende. I separate the book from the movie and notice them as two different media, although they have the same plot lines.
I absolutely loved the way the film was shot, nothing too exaggerated or CGI or what not, it was a really real film which was awesome.
I've always loved Carlisle and this just made me love him even more, I loved all the Cullens and despite everything I still love Edward, I think he did a great job --
anyways, I loved when they were making Italian food for Isabella.
"Does she even like Italian?"
"Her name is Bella..." =)

It's funny, if you talk to people about their favorite scenes, it's always the scenes with the whole Cullen family, and very little Edward. Which makes me smile. I really didn't like the way Spunk portrayed out dear Edward, but I completely LOVED everyone else's portrayals. I mean, ALL of the other cast was perfect, I thought.
I freaking loved when Emmett waved at Bella with the knife in his hand, and you could hear the *shing* as he brought it up. And when Bella's like "if I become a meal..." and all of the Cullens laughed...it was perfect. I could believe all of them were perfect.
The only time I could picture that of Edward was when he was soaking wet in that like, 30 second scene. Then he truly looked gorgeous. But other than that...man.
Oh, and I just have to say that I almost did a little fangirl squee over Carlisle walking in through the hospital doors. I admired how perfect that moment was.
I'm trying to talk about the positive things of the movie. Because people tell me that I'm too critical. I don't think so, but...

Carlisle's entrance was amazing, but away from the Cullens for now... how I love them so... I think Charlie was brilliant.
During that same hospital scene, when Tyler kept trying to apologize and Charlie's comebacks and finally drawing the curtain, it was hilarious. Also constantly trying to make sure Bella had her pepper spray xD
