(Lol, Maeth would have a blast with someone else. She and Grair are so mean to eachother she'd probably enjoy a breather)

The meal hall was empty save for a few that were simply enjoying the quiet. Deawen grabbed two bowls of stew that was being served and a small loaf of bread. She carried them back to a table that was secluded. She set down the bowls and bread carefully then returned to get a wine flask as well as two cups. She purchased the wine with a few gold coins she kept on hand then returned smiling. " Makes me homesick but it's my favorite wine." she said simply as she set it down on the table.

(( lol, Your dynamic duos always make me laugh. ))
Taevi greatfully took one of the bowls, stirring his spoon around in the soup as he waited for it to cool down a bit. It smelled fantastic, a definite reminder to him that it'd been a while since he enjoyed a good meal. Taevi eyed the bottle of wine curiously, as though trying to decide what it was.

(Ha! Thanks, glad to hear that. Grair and Maeth are my favorite for some reason. I like to think it is the random violence, and Maeth's constant addictions. I'm gonna wait til Goldleaf posts to figure out how to move the groups together)

[ May I join? ]
A tall man clothed in black except for a grey cloak entered the Dining Hall. Some thought that his appearance to be fearsome, but in fact he just didn't contribute to all the beauty and splendor of Minas Tirith: his hair was long and shaggy, his cheeks unshaved and a long white scar marked his right temple. His ragged clothing were old and dirty although he preferred them that way. His name was Aldamir, but the ones who knew him, or thought to know him, called him Dûrion, meaning Dark One.
His journey had been long, he was tired and above all, hungry. Dûrion's eyes wandered through the hall, then he got himself a bowl of stew, pacing towards an empty table at the back of the hall.
[I'm not sure whether this is at the lodgings of the Houses of Healing or at the House of King Aragorn? ]

Maethoriel wrote: Maethoriel let out a bark like laugh as harsh as her demeanor. She had to hand it to the healers they did tend to stand up when they felt the need to, but she was hardly deterred.
"You know what, child, I shall keep that in mind next time I come in. Oh, and you should lose your wager," she continued laughing as she pulled a cane from the belt of weapons she wore at her waist along with a pipe. It seemed that girl felt the urge to match wills, and it make take a bit longer than she hoped, although she could slip out the window - the thought was entertained for a moment, but it was shrugged off. She leaned casually on the cane and let the pipe dangle precariously from her mouth which still stretched in a leer.
"Now, if you would excuse me, I have things to do," she said from around the pipe.
Grair stood awkwardly to the side shifting, it had been a bad idea to visit, he was sure of that now. He could be comfortable in his home under the mountain doing something worth while, but he just couldn't listen to his own reason, just had to get out for a bit of air and adventure. He snorted, a sort of derisive laugh as he thought about how he was now stuck with an obviously unstable woman. How he did wish for home, or even just a comfortable place to stay who knows? Maybe he would catch sight of the wind-maid again.
Valya heaved a sigh. "Very well. I'll let you go," she said. "But," she added warningly, "next time I would be exceedling grateful if you didn't simply stitch yourself up when there's something wrong. I can't abide jobs badly done." Raising an eyebrow, she stepped to one side so that the woman and the dwarf might get through. "I am going to the meal hall." She turned and walked from the room with a bright, blue, arch look at the two people over her shoulder disapprovingly.
Valya believed that the healers were key players in the city of Minas Tirith - who else would heal the sick, accurately and properly? - and when situations like that came into her hands when potential patients refused her help, well it just didn't do.
She walked into the meal hall, where she spotted Deawen and Taevi at a table. She walked towards them, and slid into the seat next to Deawen. "All going well?" she enquired.
(There! All the characters in the same place.)

Maethoriel glanced over at the dwarf who met her eyes evenly from under a raised bushy brow.
"And you said it would not work," she scoffed, walking out the door, using her cane to propel her step forward.
"I said no such thing! Do not go putting words into my mouth, lassie," he responded roughly, keeping step with her. He gave her what would be a light punch to the dwarves, but was in fact a good bit harder than expected.
"Ow! That hurt," she whined, rubbing her injured shoulder. In truth the punch probably did not warrant a whine, but she did get a kick out of the dwarf's face falling apologetically.
"So, what was that I heard about food?" Grair questioned, looking up at his companion who returned the look with a rakish grin.
"The meal hall, I do believe she said," the half-elf replied lazily, removing her pipe, which had mysteriously, lit itself from her mouth.
"Well, I am up for a decent meal," the dwarf said.
"Yes, I do believe that is a sound idea," Maethoriel responded.
The two traversed the halls and easily found the meal hall. Grair was the first to spot the healer again, he decided that it might be decent of them to go and apologize. When he turned to voice the idea to his friend he found that she had drifted off towards the kitchen.
"Probably finding herself a drink," he muttered and walked over towards Valya.
"I apologize for the way my friend conducted herself, she is not the most personable of creatures," he offered with a smile.

When Dûrion's bowl of stew was emptied he took a flask from his pocket, carefully taking a few sips. A crooked smile appeared on the man's face as he sat back and took his pipe. He felt comfortable to be back in minas Tirith although it was not his home.
Intently he watched all the creatures present in the hall, noting the Elf and Dwarf who had entered. They reminded him of an resembling couple he had met years ago when he'd been member of the grey Company.

Valya looked up as Grair approached her. She smiled. "Not a problem, though I would have liked to help her," she said. "It is my job, after all. Why don't you sit down?" After all, she wasn't one to hold grudges. Not for too long, anyway, and being angry at people was so tiring.

Grair laughed at the comment even though it was meant in good spirit. "Good luck trying to give that one any help, she'll not take it even if she's dying. Believe you me, I have seen it first hand," he said. He took a seat next to her and nodded towards the group, "How do you do?" He questioned, more as a formality considering he was not familiar with those sitting about the table.
Maethoriel returned to the hall in quite a merry mood - she had found alcohol and was carrying a mug of ale in her open hand while the other held her cane and her pip remained clenched between her teeth. The half-elf moved through the tables with relative ease and finally stopped behind her friend.
"Made yourself comfortable I see," she remarked.
"Yes, well it seems my companion is unable to stay put for more than three seconds," he replied.
"You were in no peril, I saw no reason to stay," Maethoriel said - her words were a bit rough as she tried to speak from around her pipe.
"Ah, of course. A true friend - leave unless there is trouble," he retorted with a smug smile.
"Exactly," she returned with a similar expression. Her gaze then drifted across the rest of those at the table and she managed a toothy grin.
"Many greetings," she said as jovially as she could.

Valya laughed. "Not my favourite kind of patient then," she remarked. Valya liked having patients that were willing to be healed - Grair's friend had came as somewhat of a surprise. She had never met someone so unwilling to be helped. She smiled round the table, and looked up as Maethoriel came to join them.
"Will you sit with us?" she asked, pleasantly. "I don't believe we've been formally introduced. My name is Valya, I'm one of the head healers." She turned to look at Grair, who had sat beside her. "I'm keen to know your name as well, master dwarf."
The sternness that she had adopted in the supply room had utterly vanished, and her smile was slightly disarming.

Deawen looked up when Valya sat down and smiled. " Yes all is well." Deawen replied. She remained silent when the other two showed up. She showed some interest however by setting her spoon down.
She listened with a playful smile, then when Alya introduced herself she felt inclined to do the same. " Deawen of the Westfolde," she said with a nod.

Taevi paused and looked up from his bowl, watching as the population of the table grew - his caretaker, the healer, joined them at the table, as well as that odd pair he'd caught a glimpse of before. His shoulders tensed a little, unsettled by the presence of so many beings. His grey-blue eyes scanned each face quietly, then suddenly riveted on the face of Maethoriel, the half elf. He stared at her curiously, as though enraptured by her.
She… She’s like me… he thought, amazed by this seeming impossibility.

The half-elf nodded to all those at the table and removed her pipe to hold it in the same hand as her ale. All in all her posture was relatively proud despite her rough and scarred appearance. A brow quirked upward in slight surprise upon catching sight of Taevi.
"I am called Maethoriel," she replied in a graveled and strong voice.
"Grair Ironhand of Erebor. It is a pleasure to meet you all," the dwarf piped in with his own name.
