Don't tell, but it actually wasn't that hard.
I blew up the print of the ring inscription in photoshop, printed it out, taped it onto the pumpkin, and used this pointy-tool thing we had lying around the house from when my mom and I used to take pottery lessons to stick a bunch of consecutive holes where I wanted the writing to be. Then I fleshed (or rather de-fleshed) it out so the light could shine through, and voila! Add a touch of my cruelty, malice, and my will to dominate all life and I had it.
There was some frustration, but it went pretty smoothly.
I thought JF should have one. The Barbossa was awesome!
The Horseman was really a pain, but I was determined to do it. The Prince John one was done on the opposite side to a ruined Horseman, which is why it looks quite rough, but I didn't want to throw out yet another vegetable without making use of it.
