Vworp, vworp, vworp...., came the unmistakable sound of the Tardis to those who knew it. The police box appeared out of no where it seemed. As soon as it had taken on a completely solid form a tall thin man stepped out into the fresh snow, looked about in confusion and then stepped back in.

"Where are we?" Maethoriel asked from her perch on one of the coral pieces.

"A fancy dress party...I think," the Doctor replied, rocking back on his heels.

"Right, but where are we?" she asked again, sliding down from her seat and walking over to the huge closet that held the Doctor's glorified dress up room.

"I..uhh..well," he said rocking on his feet, "I don't really know. It's just a huge mansion, thing. Never seen anything like it, or I have..it's just a generic setting."

"Okay, then," his friend complied stepping out of the closet, dressed in every girl's best friend - a little black dress, well the longer version of it at least (the dress came to the floor). "Want to go to a party?"

"Yeah! I live for fancy dress parties!" He said jumping into the wardrobe and putting on one of his many suits.

"I thought you said you hated fancy dress parties," Maethoriel replied with a raised brow.

The Doctor sucked in a breath. "Hate, love...they are the same you know."

"According to poets," she retorted, stepping out of the box and walking up the path.

"I could take poets philosophy on life," the Doctor replied, hands in pockets.

"Sure." She rolled her eyes and let the man open the door. The room was amazing.

"Ahh! Well look it here! It's brilliant," the Doctor said stepping in after the shocked woman who was still trying to take everything in. "Hello, everyone!" He said, removing a hand from his pocket and waving.

Pandora grinned as she saw a rather powerful looking man walking past them, he seemed intent on doing something but was soon halted by a running SilverRose who brought the grumbling man over to them. Once she got a closer look she noticed the man was Tony Stark, orthwerise known as Iron Man.

"Why thank you, Glorfy here helped me pick it out... " SHe grinned to her husband who was rolling his eyes along with Mr. Stark, though he stopped when his wife caught him and he coughed.

"If you mean sitting there for hours waiting for you to find the perfect dress, then yes... I helped..." He laughed before turning towards Tony and offering a hand.

"Pleasure to meet you by the way"

"Tell me SilverRose, where did you happen upon such a beautiful gown?"

Nuilanwen's nervousness was overtaken by her overly-active brain when she saw the Doctor and Maethoriel walk in. She waved her hand in a circular motion at the doctor.

"Hello!" she greeted, then blushed again when she realized she completely ignored Faramir. "S-sorry." she sputtered out, she was so nervous. Blind dates were scary. Well, not exactly scary, but it was just the fact that she had never really been on a date before.

"Oh, I just...borrowed...some of Tony's money, and dragged him along to help me find one, all without his knowing it was his money." Silver giggled, then backed away at Tony's look. He shook his head and then chased her around in a circle, Silver squealing all the way. He finally caught her and enveloped her in a bear hug. He put her down and they returned to Pandora and Glorifindel.

"Sorry about that," Silver gasped for air. "He's quite impulsive sometimes." Tony rolled his eyes at Glorifindel, as if to say, "And she isn't?" Silver poked him, and then laughed.

"This is turning into quite a gathering!" she remarked. "Would you like to go get some refreshments?"

"Hello," Maethoriel returned with a bright smile and a two fingered mix between a wave, salute and peace sign.

The Doctor wiggled his fingers in another wave, he rather liked waving - so many different ways to do it. He opened his mouth to introduce himself and Maethoriel, but she beat him to the punch.

"I'm Maethoriel, and this is the Doctor...he's my plus one," she said giving the man a cheeky grin.

"I'm the plus one?" He whined.

"I am always the plus one, it is your turn to be the tag a long," she hissed, effectively shutting off from any further argument. He had seen the Cajun woman angry before and it was not something he felt like dealing with again - it was also the last time he compared her to any other girl he knew...out loud at least.

Nuilanwen laughed.

"This is Faramir-err-to be exact Captain Faramir. He's my escort for the evening." Nuilanwen explained with a slight blush, referring to Faramir. She also mentally kicked herself for being so embarrassed.

"Captain Faramir...well that's brilliant like in all the books!" The Doctor exclaimed happily - it was rare that he had such an easy name to remember. "Very good books, I might add..." he said in a lower voice pointing at the man.

"You know, I think they probably know about the books, Doctor," Maethoriel said holding out her hand. "It's nice to meet you."

The Doctor shrugged, "Yeah, I guess he would, being named from them and all. I knew a man once who was named after mountain..." he looked to the side and caught Maethoriel attempting not to laugh. "I'm rambling aren't I?"

"Yeah, just a little," she responded holding her pointer and thumb up to indicate the amount.

In her absence to find Septimus, JF had missed a lot of the arrivals. Smiling and waving, she wove her way through the groups of people greeting them and saying hello.

Freya slipped through the front door, hand resting on the arm of her husband, Artemis Fowl. She grinned and waved as she saw the people in the room. "Merry Christmas, Peoples!" she shouted.

Artemis rolled his eyes, "Please don't make a specticle of yourself, dear."

Freya giggled back, "Oh, don't be a stick-in-the-mud." She dragged Artemis over to the fireplace, where it was warm.

Esteleth yelled as she came to a skidding halt in front of the table. Shaking off a layer of snow, she pulled her hood back and smiled as she tried to take in everything at once. "Ooh, that smells good..." she said as she looked around.

As the hours past, and the evening continued to linger, MH and Haldir returned to the Banquet Hall for a drink. Mrs. Haldir not had seen any members of her family around as of yet. Perhaps they would arrive soon. It had been a while since she had seen them. She actually wished that she and husband brought their son to the Ball. He had grown much and was crawling all over the place now.
"Hot chocolate, my lady?" Haldir said, breaking MH out of her thoughts and held a mug in his hand.
MH nodded and took the mug from him. "Thank you," she said and took a sip of the hot beverage.
"Have not seen your mother yet have you?"
"Nay, I have not."
"Worry not love," said Haldir. "She will arrive soon."
