The Ballroom </center>

Hundreds of candles lit the Ballroom, and old fashioned lamps hung from the walls giving the room a traditional feel. Candles were hung from the ceiling and lined the mantelpiece of the fireplace, which was situated at one end of the room and was surrounded by comfy chairs for tired dancers. The beautifully polished wooden floor reflected the flicker of the candles and the lamps and was spacious enough for many couples. Chairs lined each wall, for waiting partners to sit.

In each corner of the room there was a beautifully decorated tree, with multi coloured lights and decorations. Garlands were hung from the ceiling and had twinkling lights wrapped around them. The lit garlands also decorated the walls. Mistletoe was hung above the entrance to the Ballroom and also above the entrance to the smaller ajoining room, which served as the buffet area. Trestle tables filled with all sorts of hot and cold treats would be keeping the dancers well supplied.

Above the main dance area was the minstrels gallery, decorated with garlands and even a mini tree. The musicians were well supplied with food and drinks so as to keep them able to play for hours on end.

Your Guide To Each Event:

- Masquerade: From midnight on the stated Masquerade days, if you are taking part, you change your username and signature so no-one will know who you are. You can even disguise your partner if he/she is fictional by changing their name to something else. The idea is to a) confuse people and b) be someone else for a day. You can post in the Masquerade thread or any of the ball threads, as long as you keep your real name a secret. At the end of each day, return to your normal Yule Ball name. When both Masquerades are over, reveal who you are in the Masquerade thread.

- Decorate A Tree: On the correct days, find the Decorate A Tree thread and choose from a multitude of trees and decorations to create your own very unique tree.

- Snowball Fight: On the appointed days, go the Snowball Fight thread and join in with the mayhem and madness in a special area of the Gardens.

- Build A Snowman: Let your artistic talent shine, as from the objects provided, build your snowman and then decorate it with POTC, LOTR, HP themed accessories as well as many, many more.

- Reveal Secret Santa's: Let all of AU know, to whom you gave tour gifts.

Lord and Lady Death walked into the ballroom, arm in arm as the fading sunlight shone through the windows like a blazing fire.
Lord Death winked at the jazz band singer in the corner, and they started to play.
Lord Death offered his hand to Lady Death, and amidst the granduer and spledour of the hall, the singer's voice rose quietly.

"Ive got you under my skin, Ive got you deep in the heart of me"

Nurrantiel entered the ballroom, cleaned up and changed after the snowball fight. "Oh," she breathed at the sight of the room. "It is a sight!" Turning, she smiled at Mat, who followed her in. "Care for a dance?" In return, he offered his arm. The two walked out as the music changed to a light waltz.

JF entered the Ballroom looking to see if Septimus was there. She had not seen him for many hours and was even wondering if he was still in the house. Sighing she left to look for him in the Banquet Hall.

"I wouldn't trade Christmas oh, no no never would I, I wouldn't trade Christmas 'cos I love you the best"

MH and walked into the ballroom and MH looked around and noticed the lack of people. "Oh look dearest," she said turning to Haldir. "There is hardly anyone here." She laughed and Haldir rolled his eyes. His wife still teased him about his lack of certain public display.
"I am getting better," Haldir stated as a matter of factly, taking his wife's hand and lead her out onto the dance floor. "This is our first dance of the ball, my lady." He spun her around once. "Would you do the honor of dancing with me tonight?"
"Of course," MH said smiling and Haldir grew her close, softly kissing her forehead before the two began to dance.

Nurr watched as her daughter and son-in-law entered the room. "Wow, I'm amazed that there *are* so few people here," she remarked to Mat. "Usually the ballroom is bursting its seams. I guess it's because we have so many fun things planned." They continued to dance, stepping lightly to the tune.

Anduril was being dragged onto the dance floor by a very determined Matt.
"Now just stick with me i'l show you."

The music changed to a brisk salsa as the latest dance couple twirled onto the dance floor.

Lord and Lady Death walked casually into the ballroom,arm in arm. When the band noticed their arrival, they began playing a quiet jazzy tune.

Lord Death put his arm around Lady Death, and took her left hand in his right, and they began to dance slowly.

"You know, this could only be more perfect if the stars themselves came down to dance alongside us" said Lord Death, his eyes never leaving Lady Death's eyes.

Larael, or Lady Death, was quite content to dance the night away. She nodded in agreement to Lord Death's comment and closed her eyes to better appreciate the music. What a wonderful way to end the ball, she thought. The song ended much sooner than Larael had wanted, but she found herself rather thirsty and voiced this to Death. "Perhaps we could get some punch?"

"Of course we can, if that is what you so desire" said the Lord of Death. The band had stopped playing, and the room was unusually quiet. Lord Death offered his hand to Lady Death.
