Yeah, if i add all the times i've read selected chapters and favorite parts, i'm sure i've read through LOTR a couple extra times.

I suppose I should be shunned as well then. To be honest I have read through them all once.

I've read The Hobbit twice. The trilogy I've read 7 times since the films were released, which is when I learned of the wonderful world of Middle Earth. I've just began to read the trilogy again for the 8th time! And I attempted the Sim, but there were some chapters that I skipped....

I guess I'm... worse off of all here... I can't boast or anything...
I've read the Hobbit 3 times, and am reading it a 4th time, but this time to my lil' brother.
FotR I've ready 1 1/2 times. I started reading it, got half way through, and started over.
I've read TTT... not completely through yet. I've just finnished the chapter "Helm's Deep".
Go ahead and shun me now... lol

I've read LOTR all the way through twice, and part of the way through again, and I've read the Silmarillion 1 1/2 times. I've also read all the LOTR appendices and Silmarillion appendices...hehe.

Ha, who can really keep track? I haven't read them in a while but there was a point where I just kept reading them over and over again...I got a large hardback containing all the stories, and every time I finished the last chapter I would just flip back to the prologue again.

I've read the LotR (plus appendices) about half a dozen times and The Hobbit is my all time favorite book (This could be traced to having it told to me by both parents as a little girl at the age of six ) and I pick it up and start reading it at LEAST a dozen times a year

I've read Lotr four or five times.
I have one book which includes the whole trilogy (FotR, TTT, RotK and appendices).
I've read Silmarillion just once and Children of Húrin twice.
And I'm about to read The Hobbit soon.

Hmm.. I honestly can't remember. A couple of times (each book) in my teens. Then a couple of times after the movies came out. So 4-5 times perhaps?
It's not that I don't enjoy reading them because by all means, I probably count them as my favorite books of all time. It's just that I'm such an avid reader - period - that there are so many other books that I want to read as well.

The hobbits I think 14 times.
The fellowship of the ring around 34 times.
TTT and The return of the king around 25 times.
Yes. I realize thats prolly high. But then again, you have to realize, I'm not a native english speaker. I first got them in dutch. A number (4?) of years after that, I got the english versions. And re-read muchos.

A few times, I think. My copys are so old and are falling part (they were my aunt's in the 70s and 60s publish dates )and I'm nervous about touching them. And my public library lacks copys of FotR so it's kind of pointless to borrow them from there.

7-8 times on the trilogy and the Hobbit, probably somewhere around 4 times on the Silmarillion, and I read Unfinished Tales. I read them once a year, but English teachers' rules involve not rereading books, so I'm prevented from reading them too many times. My copy of FOTR broke into two pieces this spring, so I don't know what I'm going to do. Probably tape it and read it, but I hate to tape it. But I don't want to buy a new copy either, because my copies are full of memory...

Not enough is my answer, though I should be, since I got new copies as a gift
