Lucian hardly perked up at the ongoing conversation two or three cages away by his side. Lucian was buried in his shadows and his loneliness at that time, growing intense as every second passed by and as the conversation extended far longer than he had expected. All of his kind usually spoke for more than a few minutes only if and when their vampire masters need for protection.

Lucian retreated to the back of the cage, his head was covered by his roughly chained hands partly as the footsteps of the figure was echoed. Lucian hoped that the vampire go away because his instincts told him interacting a vampire would not result in a possibly good outcome and surely of course, whipping of many countless hours in the back had helped him remind a good lesson from days back so as not to give them a stare at the vampires in the eye. With his ear though uninstinctively he tracked the footsteps as it pressed on, lifted off the contact on the ground.

Lucian blenched at the sound and stayed still however, he had to accept that it was not like any another he had heard in a while. Gradually, he lifted his head to obey the given command. His blue eyes scanned over the figure who dared to approach at his cage, blinked twice as fast as if he was being photographed. Lucian with the shackles quarrelling along the floor as he stepped into view of the vampire.

After a few more moments than Sonja should have allowed, a figure emmenced from the shadows. Sonja's breath caught, but it was almost unnoticable to the Lycans that surrounded her in various cages. Her gaze fell upon his chest first, before she found his chains attached to his wrists and she followed them down to the floor, where they also connected to his ankles. She lingered on the chains for a moment, before her gaze reached back up to his face, and just as she got her breathing back under control, she lost it again. It was his most handsome feature, and she was never so attracted to anyone among her race as quickly as she was to this Lycan.

Noticing that a few moments had passed with silence between them, she spoke, a little quicker than usual, "A name." She paused, looking down at the ground before meeting his eyes again. "I aquire a name."

((My next post, Kraven will come and pull Sonja away from the celler, in order to prepare her for the annual ball that the Vampires host at their castles - the Lycans will all have to go out and gaurd that night as the other Vampires arrive - that is the future plan.))

Lucian swapped his chained hands lower as soon as he heard the vampire order him though that does not sound like much of an order he was used to obey, also of the tone he was used to call. He noticed her gaze upon him, not like any humiliating or cocky look settled upon her face as he had expected to be. Lucian felt compelled to give her his name while he saw that he had the right not to. He tried to conceal chains like a naughty child behind his back for a mere moment however, he broke off the act as soon as it started. Lucian felt something deeper as he heard her speaking once more. "Lucian" he said as he tried to come closer however he was denied due to the stress of the shackles. He stared at her, scanning over her face. "And yours?" he whispered low, dull almost like a man who is about to die.

She nodded wondering how to attack him best; she knew she could not win but the aim here was to not make him think she was comepltly useless or stupid.
She moved her weight slightly onto her right foot to attack from the right but at the last moment attacked from the left; a short sharp thrust aimed just below his heart before quickly withdrawing out of immidiate range.
All this was done in less than a split second. Theia had not been kidding when she said that speed was her advantage. Although young Theia had a much quicker speed and lighter agility than many of the vampires twice her age. She lacked streanth and a proper sense of maturity it was true but maturity she presumed might come with time.

((Gah, I've abandoned this))

Malachi parried the thrust, and circled Theia, processing her style. She fought like a wolf; strike and withdraw. She would feint as well, just as anyone with half a measure of skill would. He swept his blade in a dornward slash, then cut up to the right, reversing the motion and driving Theia back. Closing the distance, he thrust his blade at his impromptu pupil, only to be parried. "Good." He said, disengaging and backing away slightly.

Theia allowed herself a small smile at his praise before focuseing back on the fight. He was faster than she expected; she was used to being much faster than others and he was also alot stronger than her. She felt it when his blade coonected with hers and she could tell he was holding himself back and testing her rather than acctually fighting properly.
She circled back round towards him but kept just out of range the entire time watching keenly for an opening. she found it impossible to predict his next move; and so she began to imitate the way he constantly and subtley shifted.
"What am i doing wrong?" she asked suddenly hopeing to distract him with a question long enough for her to attack.

Malachi clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "You're not doing anything wrong," he said condescendingly as he circled her, sword up, "you're fighting a mismatched duel. You seem to prefer a strike and withdrawl, that tires an opponent out, but only a mortal one. You need to finish fights with an immortal with as little swordplay as you can. Because someone stronger, and even faster, could have your head before you could blink." To prove his point, he beat Theia back with his blade, and then used the flat of the guard to smash the sword from her hand.

Sonja allowed, as she had with Nathaniel, for the Lycan to took his precious time answering her. Why? She asked herself, scolding herself for showing any sign of weakened authority - and it front of so many Lycans, no less! She watched as the Lycan attempted to hide his chains, and her first feeling was not of glee or happiness at this Lycans attempt to hide, but of sorrow, and her first instinct was to go and unlock him. Sonja almost gaped at herself at such a treasonous thought. Her thoughts were interrupted when the Lycan, finally, told her his name.

"Lucien." He told her, and Sonja felt like her insides melting as they did when she first gazed upon his chest and face as she heard his voice. Sonja also heard his ask for her name in return and she could not believe herself as she was about to answer him - she was having a civil conversation with a Lycan! Yet, as she was about to reply just as quietly so as the guards would not hear, another voice did the deed for her...

~~~~~~~~~~~
Kraven nodded to the other Vampire as it relayed Viktors' message to him and he rushed down to the celler to go and retrieve Viktors daughter, fuming the entire way there.
Always getting herself into trouble, Sonja is! How can she go and "check up" on the Lycans on a night like this, the biggest night on the Vampire Calendar! Dam.n girl - makes me do everything myself.
As Kraven reached the stairwell, he could see dim lighting coming from below. He uttered more curses - aloud, this time, - and shuffled down the stairs with undead grace. As he came in, silently, Kraven saw Sonja standing by a cage - not only was it a change, though, but it was [i]The[i/] Cage.
"Sonja!" Kraven yelled, his voice echoing and causing many of the younger Lycans to shudder.
((Caunion, I hope I did not god-mode here with your gaurds giving Kraven the message, and I would be more than happy to redo this if you think I did, but I am trying to move the plot along a little. Just let me know. ;)))
Theia gave a gasp as her sword was battered out of her hand. Her eyes flashed from blue-grey into electric blue and she dropped and rolled in an instant before adopting a crouching stance with her center of gravity low and in attack mode; a low feral hiss slipping from her mouth.
Quickly though she remided herself that this was simply a class and she regained her posture, her eyes returning to thier normal grey-blue. The pause gave time for him words to sink in and she nodded at thier truth. His patroniseing tone did not nettle her for she knew it was deserved.
Her eyes flickered to a clock high on the mantle peice opposite her and a small frown creased her forehead. "I apologise Master Malachi" she said; adressing him with the title of one revered by the speaker. "But I must prepare for the Ball tonight and help in Sonja's preperations. But I would be honered if you would teach me to have even a chance of defeating an immortal."
Malachi nodded, and hung his blade on it's wall pegs. Then, he rummaged through the weapons chest, and withdrew a silver-furnished sword with a knuckle guard and paired finger bows. "A smallsword like this has an efficient stab, but it also has enough stregnth to parry more brutal attacks." He said, presenting the weapon wire-wrapped hilt first to Theia. "Take it. It's yours." He urged, drawing the blade a few inches from it's dark scabbard to show it's polished blade.
((If you're seen Indiana Jones IV, Cate Blanchette's character carries a sword that is identical to the one described))
Theia accepted the blade with almost a look of awe; it flashed through the air keenly and she smiled before sheathing it once more. "Thankyou Master" she gave him a flashing smile "I shall use it well and not disgrace you" She smiled again before dashing out of his rooms to her own.
A few minets later and she was makeing her way to Sonja's rooms. Her red-gold hair had been intricatly coiled up at the back but soft curles tunbled from it and around her face. She had changed from her kimono to a long gown in deep sea blue. Saphires framed in gold hung from her ears and another from a thin gold chain that hung down between her breasts in her low cut dress.
She had debated how to ware her sword and had finally tied a lenth of gold cloth around and emphasing her waist from whitch the dark scabard hung. She knocked on Sonja's door and when she got no answer entered.
It was empty. Where was she? She swiftly crossed to the wardrobe and found the dress she was meant to ware tonight still there. A frown creased Theia's forehead.
Still; she shrugged, and began to get Sonja's dress ready hopeing that she would arrive soon.
Malachi was already moving when Theia left. He garbed himself in a set of dark blue robes with silver embroidery along the hem and cuffs, and strapped on a pair of vambraces to show his profession. Sheathing his sword in it's black leather scabbard, he hung it about his waist with a battered swordbelt, and left his quarters for the ballroom. He had not been late for an occasion yet, and he was not about to start now.
Theia was getting worried. She paced Sonja's room waiting for her.
Sonja didn't need her really did she? It wasn't too much trouble to changeher dress and do something with her hair. She was beutiful enough already as it was and Theia didn't want to be late; well not too late.
But on the other hand this was Sonja. Victor's daughter. You just DIDN'T leave her without her 'maid' as Theia suspected Victor regarded her as.
That was why she wanted to fight; she didn't want to always be the young silly vampire who couldn't be trusted with anything important. Maybe she should leave and let Sonja fend for herself as an act of difiance.
But would that show she was not caperbel of doing her duty and untrustworthy?
So Theia continued to pace the room waiting for Sonja to arrive.
Theia had run out of patience. Let Sonja sort out her own mess for once. Theia was not going to get dragged down with her.
She was probably with the Lycan's anyway Well it was high time her father knew how much time Sonja was spending with them; and Theia knew that she wasn't torturing them. It wasn't that Theia disagreed personally to this but her loyalty was to Victor first, and Sonja should remember that too.
Gathering her blue gown into her arms she sprinted to the ball room before coming to a sedate walk as she entered. She saw none of her companions before she spotted Malachi at the other side of the hall resplendent in dark blue and glided over to him her curls ruffling softly. She took a glass of dark wine from a passing servant and took a sip before turning to Malachi with a smile and a shrug that quite spoilt the effect.
“Sonja is not in her chambers, I thought she would be here but it seems not.” Was all the reason she gave for her appearance without the Royal Lady.
