Bronwyn looked up, a bit dazed and shook herself. The crab-thing hissed at her before running off again. She blinked before all hell broke loose. "Oi mate! Get your filthy crab-like aris back right now!" And she was off sprinting after it. Sizing up the situation she considered her options. There wern't too many people about, and the fuzz were no where to be seen, as usual, so she could quite easily pull her gun on the thing and bring it down, not kill it, obviously. Had enough of that sort of thing in Torchwood One, but clear shot in the leg and it wouldn't be running anywhere. She calculated her position and realised they were half a mile or so from the bay, where it could probably jump in and swim off. Torchwood 3 were most likely persuing anyway, just a bit further back.
-------------------------
Gwen sprinted round the corner, almost coliding with Jack. In her hand she grasped a PDA which she was using to track the creature. "It's heading for the bay, if we don't hurry, it'll get away into the water. We'll have no hope then, unless you also happen to be a merman, which I highly doubt somehow."

"You never know," Jack said with a grin. "I'm full of surprises."
He pulled his Webley revolver from its worn holster, mostly as a precaution. Chances were the crab was harmless, but he wasn't going to take chances. Besides, crabs tended not to be the most talkative of species. Well, there'd been that one time in the bar...
-----
The crab, Ian figured, was heading towards the Bay, unless he was completely lost. Which was a possibility. But the crab was just within his line of sight, and hopefully it would slow down before too long. He was getting awfully tired of running.

"The Doctor?" Addie asked, despite the fact that she was about to be gasping for air - man, she wish she had run track. Alas for her, the swimmer was absolutely dreadful at all land sports- not to mention her knees, which randomly popped out of socket. However, she could not resist a bit of a jab. "That is a bit pretentious isn't it?" She asked, slowing her pace and grabbing her side trying to massage out a stitch that was beginning to form.
The man shrugged and tilted his head to the side. "Yah....well, I suppose it could be." He stopped to think about it, but then the more pressing issue reformed in his mind. "Can we do this later? I have an alien life form to question. Thanks," he grinned back at her and waved.
Addie pushed through her pain, the man was too interesting to lose, and she needed the exercise.
The Doctor continued on, his long legs carrying him quickly over the concrete towards the bay. From his peripherals he could spot the familiar form of Jack Harkness - honestly, did the man ever change styles over the years? At least it worked for him.
Addie followed, almost limping now. She stopped for a moment, hands on knees to look up at the others running after the creature.
"Maybe Area 51 is real," she said aloud, after all, they looked rather official. And one had a gun, that generally said officer, or mobster...did they even have mobsters in Cardiff? Her random thought process ended when she heard the Doctor yell after the crab.
"Oi! You there, stop! I can help you, what do you want?" He asked, still running, hoping the thing wouldn't throw itself into the bay before he got to it.
"Take me to your leader," Addie sniggered under her breath, starting to run again. She realized that it should not be funny - a giant alien crab. But she lived for the absurd in everything.

Jack suddenly stopped in his tracks. Aside from the crab, there were a few new things that had caught his eye.
The first was, in fact, the Doctor. What was he doing in Cardiff? And was the girl that was following him a new companion?
Second was what was unmistakably a UNIT officer. Jack racked his brain, wondering if he'd missed some kind of important memo. Ianto would know; he'd ask him once this was sorted. Or he could ask the UNIT officer himself, he supposed.
The crab was now within a short distance of the Bay. If they didn't play this right, it could easily cover that distance and swim away to wreak who knew what kind of havoc in the water.
The Doctor was now shouting at it, Jack, Bronwyn (so there she was) and the UNIT officer had their guns aimed at it, and this was headed for a Very Big Confrontation. Jack only hoped the crab didn't turn out to be violent, for everyone's sake, including its own.

Ianto couldn't believe he was hunting a giant crab. Well, actually he could, since his entire job consisted of locating and tracking alien organisms. But still, the thrill of the chase never wore off. Jack, who was in pursuit just a couple feet in front of him, suddenly pulled to a stop. Ianto, who was a bit slower on the brakes, had to side step his boss so as not to run him over. When he finally pulled himself to a halt, he saw what Jack was looking at. It seemed they wern't the only ones pursuing the crab. Four other people were also intrigued by the crab-like thing. Three of those four people Ianto didn't recognize: a UNIT officer wielding a gun, another man who seemed to be trying to talk to the crab, and a girl who was following the man. But the fourth person Ianto knew. "Bronwyn." Ianto muttered to himself. Yes, there she was. How long had it been since they last spoke?

The Doctor sped up and Addie attempted to keep pace with the long legged man, and was doing a fair job of it now that she had her second wind.
"It's a giant freakin' crab!" She yelled, a bit of her southern accent leaking into the sentence. "What makes you think it is going to answer? Since when do crabs talk?"
The woman began to slow down again seeing all the people with guns. She was not all for the guns, not unless she was holding a rifle - then they could try and shoot. She held up her arms, in a manner of surrender.
The Doctor looked back over his shoulder and rolled his eyes, letting out an annoyed groan. "Their on our side!" He yelled to the girl, whose name he had yet to learn. "And it may talk. It. Is. Not. From. This. Planet!" He yelled back at the woman, breaking down the sentence so that maybe she would get the message.
Sometimes he wondered how some people could not believe humans were descendants of apes, they could be just as dense at times.
"Ohhhhh..." Addie said, turning back around and running after the man once more, glancing back at everyone else trying to figure out who else would want to run after a giant crab.

She had quite litrully a minute before the crab would get away into the water. Making her decision she aimed her gun at its leg and shot. She heared a squeal that ripped at her heart as the creature fell sideways. Letting her legs carry her a few more paces forward and she dropped down beside it. "I'm sorry, so sorry." She muttered. "It's not that serious, I just couldn't let you get away."
------------------------------------------------
Gwen heard Ianto mutter something, but before she could ask she heard a gunshot ring out. She saw the creature fall and a girl running over to it, tucking her gun down the back of her jeans before kneeling beside it. Aswell as feeling slightly confused, she felt sorry for the thing and slightly relieved that she wasn't the one that had shot it.

Addie winced as the sound of a gun resounded through the street followed by the shriek of the crab. Who knew something like that could scream that loud? It was horrible. At least she would not have to run anymore.
She looked ahead towards the man she had been following, and he looked angry. Now she felt bad for being okay with the creature being shot. She sighed and jogged after the strange Doctor, stopping a little ways from him, not quite wanting to see his anger explode, or be too close to the giant crab.
--------------
"What did you do that for?!" The man yelled at Bronwyn, his brows furrowed together as he looked down at the crab who was convulsing in pain.
He kneeled by the thing and tried to calm it by patting its shell, but was rewarded with the creature flailing its claw out to the side. The Doctor barely ducked out of the way.
"Calm down, calm down. I'm the Doctor, and I'm here to help," he said quietly stepping up. "Who are you?"

Bronwyn saw red, as always. "What did I do that for? The thing was getting away! I had to do something!" Her eyes scanned the man and realised she recognised him. Skinny, brown pinstripe suit, hair that seemed to defy gravity. Yup, she had seen him on the security tapes from that day at Canary Wharf. "I had to shoot it, Doctor."

The Doctor glared at the girl. He did not appreciate being yelled at. "Ohhhhh...." he said wildly, "well, next time you are running about terrified of people with guns, I will be sure to stop them from shooting you," he finished with a sneer. Oh, that was rude, his conscience warned, but he brushed it aside.
He was less than impressed at her knowledge of his identity. After all she was with Torchwood it seemed, what with Jack and the rest of his group about. It would not be surprising if she had heard stories.
-----------------------------
Addie jogged over to stand near the Doctor and the crab.
"Are we just going to stand here while the thing suffers?" She asked looking at the poor beast still shaking pitifully from the blow. "I mean, don't you alien hunters have some sort of hold for these things?"
The Doctor looked over to Addie (he had to remember to ask her name). "Right..." he said slowly, rubbing the back of his neck. "You stay back," he pointed at Bronwyn, still angry.
"Jack!" He yelled to the military man. "Can we get the crab back to Torchwood?"

[As much as I hate to turn this into an eppie of Eastenders, the following is vital to my charrie's background. Sorry.]
Bronwyn chuckled morbidly. "I have no fear of guns Doctor, the pain of being shot is rather insignificant to me now." Noticing he had called over his shoulder to someone, she turned around, only to feel like she had been hit full on by a train. Jack. He's alive!
Getting up almost in a trance she walked towards him and almost of it's own accord, her hand pulled back and slapped him hard across his cheek. "I thought you were dead!" She hissed through clenched teeth. "All that time, you knew about me, knew how isolated I felt and you. Didn't tell me. You couldn't. Die." She was at odds with herself, not knowing whether to cry or shoot him. "You. Didn't. Tell. Me. I. Wasn't. Alone."
