(I think y'all missed it but the Doctor and Maven just walked into the teacher's lounge.)

Quote: Waith stopped his singing and raised his mug, smiling. "Morning, Esteleth. I'm actually rather well. Provided the students don't give me gief, that will last until luncheon." He said, draining his cup. Setting it down, he carved a lump out of a nearby marble cake, chewing thoughtfully as he took in Esteleth's tea making. "How're you?" He asked her, swallowing.
Maven and John Smith, 'Doc' as Waith called him, both entered the lounge. Waith raised a hand in greeting. Esteleth flopped down sideways into her chair and took a sip of tea. "I'm good, thanks." She looked up as the two others walked into the room. "Hello Maven, Doctor Smith." She nodded toward them. Quote: Groaning, Marianna rolled over in bed and bonked the top of her alarm clock. That'll settle you down, she muttered under her breath. After performing a series of brief stretches, she plopped her feet down on the floor and heaved herself up. Collingwood Academy, Day One, she thought to herself as she stumbled over to the closet. Perhaps I should wear something impressive... or... professional-looking, she mused. They do say that first impressions are very important...
Soon, a large pile of clothes lay on the floor immediately outside the closet. "Aha!" A delighted, slightly muffled voice called in triumph from within. "That's where you went to," she said to her delicately ruffled blouse as she minced her way around the pile of assorted clothing. Deciding that jeans would have to work for bottoms today, she threw on her clothes and pushed a slender headband into her hair. "Au revoir!" she softly said to the room, whirling around to grab her ready book bag. She pushed open the door and paused for a moment, looking back. "Wish me luck... because I have a feeling I'll need it."
Jessica hadn't gone far. She had stopped just at the end of the hallway before deciding that maybe wearing a cloak to her first day at Collingwood probably wasn't one of her brightest ideas. Sighing, she turned around and walked back to her room.
She opened the door just as, it seemed, her roomate was about to leave. "Oh. Hi. It's...Morgan, right?" Jessica wasn't good at remembering names.

Waith swallowed, and gave a similiar greeting. He pulled a pocket watch from his sleeve, and nodded. There was still a few minutes.
(Can I get a schedule, or else who's in what class?))

Maven sighed happily at the sight of the coffee. Victory was hers. Thank, God! She could have done a happy dance if she was not so tired. The Doctor wiggled his fingers towards the man. "Hallo, Waith. Lovely morning, don't you think? I can just smell the opportunity...or maybe it's cumin..." he sniffed, standing on his toes smelling the air. "They smell similar," he explained as he looked over to Maven who had a small look of confusion written on her brow.
"Riiiiiight," she drawled, pouring herself a cup of coffee, sweetening it to her liking. The Doctor grabbed the coffee maker pot from Maven and filled his mug. He felt like taking it black today. He took a sip and then smacked his lips afterward - that's good.
He grinned over the rim towards Maven who still scowled and probably would remain with that look until she had finished the drink. "Well, this is nice, but I have to get back to my room. Kids are in study hall first. Miserable," she muttered walking out the door.
The Doctor was about to follow, but the skinny man rocked back on his heels and instead sat down to finish his drink. "Have a nice vacation, did we?" He asked to his coworkers, turning to look at each in turn an expectant look on his face.
------------------------
Maven's pocket was vibrating. She groaned and dug it out of her pants to check the caller Id. "Bennett," she growled at the phone - why did they have to call her here? It was ridiculous. This was the job they had sent her on. No need to check in to see if she was there or not, they could find her...they could always find her.
She slid the cherry red phone open, clicked the green accept button and put it to her ear. "Go," was the first word out of her mouth, he voice was all business, bordering harsh.
"Yes, yes. I don't see anything about them, no. Yes, Noah," she said coldly, "I know what is on the line. Uh huh," she finished unamused while the man on the other line could barely be heard grumbling - he was probably yelling in reality.
"Fine. I'll have it sent to you later," the line went dead and she shut the phone, jamming it back into her pocket in a worse mood.
She opened the door to the room next to her own, planning on just walking through the conjoined storage room/office. That was when she saw Owen. Who was he?
"Who are you?" She asked, unpleasantly. Another sip of coffee a poor attempt at calming herself.
--------------
Gandalf had decided a stroll around the yard would do him good and that is what he was doing when students began to arrive. The tall man with his hands tucked in his pockets, walking at a graceful leisurely pace with an old staff and an equally old pipe dangling from his mouth.
"Ahh," he mumbled through his teeth, his blue eyes glancing skyward. "Lovely day indeed," he smiled and chuckled. That it seemed from what he saw in his mind's eye would be a common comment of the day.

Turwaithion chuckled at Doc. "Honestly, lad. Could you be any more random?" He asked, flopping down into a chair, decidedly undignified. It was a bit early for that. "If you consider spending a month in South Africa learning impi fighting styles, and then German Sword-Grappling near Freiburg interesting, then I had a wonderful vacation." He said. He had taken to the modern world more easily than his fellows, but he still traced a scar over his hairline. A Landsknecht had given him that, in Swabia. He frowned, remeniscing.

(I'm going to take that as a yes...)
Owen walked into the school, dodging the crowds of students, all the while, keeping a strong hold on his bag. School, school. He was sure Gwen would be heads over heels for this job. Actually, come again, she was. Tosh and Ianto were mysteriously "sick" when Jack announced this new brilliant plan of his and he was the only alternative. Oh well, there was so much he could do as a teacher and he might as well have fun with this new job.
He went to the room that he was assigned to, replacing the biology teacher who apparently won a trip to Costa Verda in America. All of Tosh's work, of course. He closed the door behind him and set the bag down on his desk, taking out papers, among them a list of things that the students should be doing. A list that Owen is going to ignore. He should try to make things a little more hands-on. Bring an alien corpse for the class to dissect. His eyes lit up visibly at the thought of pushing a squeaky cart carrying some ****** that floated from the Rift and scaring all the little girls....but Jack wouldn't let him. He can be such a spoilsport.
"Who are you?" came a rude and unpleasant voice, disrupting his concentration.
He looked around to see a woman, tan, dark eyes, dark hair. His eyes narrowed as he replied, "Doctor Owen Harper. And if I'm not mistaken, this is my classroom, so I should be the one asking who the hell you are?"

Ruby played around with a plush globe, enjoying the metaphor in it. Why was she here, she had no idea. Probably because she was bored one day and decided that being cooped in a classroom with twenty odd students who would much rather do something else than learn about religions. She sighed and stared up at the ceiling for a minute, thinking. Suddenly she stood up straight, as if she had a plan. Well, she did. Only to get more coffee.

The Doctor grinned and shrugged at the question. His previous statement was not at all meant to be funny, but he supposed not everyone had I Time Lord's sense of smell. It was quite a gift. He laughed to himself and took another sip of his coffee, trying to make it seem like he was still laughing at Waith's joke.
"Well," he said with his bright grin and wriggle - sitting in chairs for extended periods of time was a difficult, if not impossible feat for a caffeine fueled Time Lord - "I could certainly try..."
"So, fighting styles, right? Interesting choice of vacation. I always am fond of," he cut himself off before he said the 1920's, "the beach," he finished quickly while glancing towards the clock to check the time.
---------------------
Maven's annoyance increased with Owen's subsequent snarky remark to her question. Her own eyes narrowed and the small man in a dangerous fashion while violent thoughts flashed through her mind. She pushed them away forcefully. This was not her job...well, it was, but in this job violence was not at all condone. Maven wanted to groan in a annoyance, but she withheld the action by locking her jaw and taking a deep, coffee scented breath.
Better...slightly. After another breath she decided on another approach. "Why is Mrs. Chopin not here? I was told earlier this year that she was returning," she said in a calm, but chilly tone. She remembered during her 'interview' process the year before the nice, middle-aged woman with a slightly grating voice who had been "Simply ecstatic!" in her own words, that they would be neighbors.
Great, she thought. Not only was she stuck with first period study hall when the high school students had nothing at all to do, but now she had a snarky co-worker next door. Fantastic.

"Mrs. Chopin has decided to take an all-expense-paid vacation to Costa Verda in America for a year," he replied briskly as he crumpled up the list into a ball and threw it into a rubbish bin. "The school has asked me to take over in her absence." He flipped through the biology textbook to the first chapter and asked, his eyes still on the book, "You still haven't answered my question, you know."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby walked to the teacher's lounge and got herself a cup of coffee. Well, at least, planned to. To her immense dismay, there weren't any cups, not even the cheap Styrofoam cups, left near the coffee machine, which was woefully low. She groaned softly but decided to linger around anyway. She heard something about "fighting styles" between two guys and with the thought "Why not" ringing in her head, she walked closer to hear some more.

Turwaithion shrugged. "When you get to be my age, There is very little appeal in a senic trip. Nothing can rival Lothlorien these days. If I have time, I may as well spend it learning something useful." He explained. "Sword-Grappling was a technique that nearly killed me, a few centuries back." He said as an afterthought.

(I am thinking it may be a good time to get some classes or breakfast started so the students have a place to interact. So, I'll hold up on replying until people get caught up.)

{Sorry for not replying sooner. Just when I think life's giving me enough of a break to start a RP...Anyways, I was hoping we could RP breakfast. Qui-Gon needs to buy some syrup first, though...}
Esteleth only half-listened to the conversations going on in the teacher's lounge. She was too busy wondering about why there was a yellow glob of paint stuck in her hair. "Where did that come from?" She wondered out loud. "I, uh, have some paintings to grade," she announced in a louder voice. She got up and set her now-empty tea cup in the sink. "Au revoir!"
---
Qui-Gon exited the school in a dead run. He was frantic. He usually wasn't frantic, but today he had a good excuse to be frantic. Breakfast was supposed to begin in less than 15 minutes. There were pancakes, but there was no syrup.
He flew across the yard, almost barreling straight into...Gandalf. "Oh! Excuse me! Sorry--it's an emergency..."

Analise glanced down at her watch. They still had about 10 more minutes before breakfast. "So," she began. "Shall we start to head over to the cafeteria?" she asked the two.
"Sounds like a plan to me," Caspian replied.
"Yeah, before the line gets long right?" Analise teased.
"Or they run out of food," Caspian joked back.
"And since when has Qui-Gon ever run out of food?"
"I've seen stranger things happen..." he added as Analise chuckled. "Coming?" Caspian asked Jacob.
