Róisín entered the spacious and luxurious elevator of the LA Financial District skyscraper. She had been told to hit the top floor and scanned the buttons. There it was. 69.

"Oh Lamar, Lamar..." she shook her head chuckling.

The doors closed and the elevator began its steady journey up. Music more appropriate for a soft pornographic video filled the speakers. Róisín glanced around the elevator. The walls and the built-in loveseat were clad in crimson velvet with gold ornaments. Baroque-style golden mirrors hung on the walls and on the ceiling.

"Always the flamboyantly tacky one" she thought to herself.

The elevator made a sound indicating that she had arrived at the requested floor and it steadily came to a halt. She exited and found herself in an empty reception area. Not that she would need a receptionist telling her which door led to Lamar's office. She could pick him out in a crowd anywhere. She walked over and knocked on the door. When she received no answer she took the liberty of opening the door herself.

There he was. Lamar. Sitting behind his desk looking like the Godfather. Half-grinning ever so slightly.

"Mm-mm... looking fine babygirl!" he said checking her out. Róisín was not amused. "You summoned me?" she asked slightly annoyed. Lamar leaned back in his large office chair. "I need you to pick up someone very important at LAX Intl for me. He should be arriving within the hour or the next. Private jet". He paused. "He needs a... tour guide" he said grinning.

Róisín raised an eyebrow. "I don't work for you. I don't work for anyone" she said. "As I recall, you owe me a favor. Let's just call this the first of many more to come" Lamar said rubbing his hands together. "Oh come on! That was three hundred years ago!" Róisín said in disbelief. "And I remember it like it was yesterday. Mm-mm!" Lamar said smirking. "Fine! I'll entertain the guy. Are we done here?" she asked. Lamar nodded. Róisín left the room and slammed the door shut behind her.

"Loving the corset, babygirl!" Lamar's teasing voice could be heard through the shut door. Róisín shook her head.

"Perfect!" she thought sarcastically.

A small luxury private jet flies above the night skies over America

The lush maroon leather seats inside the plane are all but empty. A man sits alone at the very back seats, his long black hair covering his face as he casually looks out the circular window. All below are buildings and glimmering lights, twinkling like stars in the night sky. A young woman in a black air stewards uniform stands at the side of his row of seats, she bows respectfully.
"You asked for me Sensei?" she says softly, never looking up at him.

"Yes." he replied curtly, never taking his eyes off the cityscape below. "I am in need of your assistance" he stated, resting a hand on his chin. "You know what to do."

She bowed again and the man in the seat straightened upright and turned his back to her. She hestitantly began to take small portions of his hair into her hands and twist them into very thin plaits. She swallowed hard, nervous that one wrong move. One wrong breath even and he would snap her neck like a twig. It wasn't the first time it had happened and certainly wouldn't be the last. She repeated the process carefully, as being a casualty to her employer was not a desirable prospect.

"How long till we land?" he asked, still looking out the window.

"I shall enquire of the pilot Sensei" the young hostess replied, "Everything is as it should be." she said, noting that she had finished placing the braids into his hair. He nodded back in agreeance and waited on her return. His mind focussed now on Lamar and there arrangement. It wasn't often he left his homeland in Japan, but this was a beneficial arrangement and he was also promised a tour guide.

The young hostess came back, and again bowed to him. "Sensei, the pilot says 45 minutes to landing at LAX."

"Good. Thank you Kimiko. Go, relax. I will need no more disturbance until we land." he finally looked up at her, a thin smile greeting her. His unique blue eyes piercing her. She blushed and scuttled to the employee section of the plane.

Jocelyn looked around the familiar bar of Synn City and was glad to see some new faces among them as well as those familiar faces that helped keep her relatively sane during these days when Derrick became too much for her to deal with. A voice cut through the sound of the music and she turned her crimson orbs towards the bar where she saw Dawn.

Smirking she shrugged her shoulders and made her way over to the girl. "Yes, it's getting worse these days I tell you." She muttered as she motioned for her regular. Type O.

"You need to get out of there you know. It's not good for you being around him." Dawn replied, as she grabbed a bottle of O and put it in the microwave to heat. She looked over at Molly who was serving customers and gave her a smile. The microwave signalled the readiness of the blood and Dawn took it out and handed it over the counter to Jocelyn. "There y'go."

Róisín made her way through the huge terminal at the Los Angeles International Airport. Gate 151 she had been told by a costumer service clerk. She loved being in a public place with so many humans. It was like a playground for her. Ever since Vampires had 'come out of the coffin' when the synthetic blood had become available on the market, one of her favorite things to do was to scare humans off in public places by demonstrating one of her many abilities. Anything for shock value. And now as she walked through the vast building she made sure to use her ability to speed every so often. Just for kicks. And because she wanted to get to the gate faster. In the corner of her eye she saw parents huddling their children closer, shunning away from her. She snickered.

"Freak!". "Monster!". "Murderer!". "Anti-Christ!". The name calling did nothing for her these days. She had heard them all before and then some. But she refused to hide away or act human. She refused to blend in by wearing the fashion of the 21st Century. What was it someone had called her way of dressing a few years ago? Oh yeah, 'Gothic Victorian'. Silly modern-day humans. No understanding of history at all.

Ah, there it was finally. Gate 151. The seating area was empty in this non-commercial area of the terminal. Now all she had to do was wait. For whom she did not know. Yet.

Now on final approach. All passengers please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing the voice of the jet's pilot crackled over the intercom.

The mysterious man sitting alone did not comply. After 998 years of living, he had no reason to worry about the trivial things in life. He sensed the turning motion of the plane as it turned inwards towards the runway. The wheels hit the concrete at great speed and shuddered the fuselage ever so slightly. He did not bat an eyelid, to outsiders he would look cold and unaffected. The plane slowly taxied it's way to the Gate and Kimiko made her way up to the front where he sat.

"We are here Sensei" she said bowing to him respectfully.

"Yes." he simply replied. "Have all my things taken care of sent onwards to residence." Kimiko bowed again at his request and went back to make all the arrangements. He stood up, tall and proud. His long black hair falling about his waist. Picking up his opulent cane he made his way to the exit, his thick black trenchcoat swishing behind him. Two taller bald men in black suits and sunglasses made there way up from the back towards him. He nodded to them both as the door to the plane opened and he felt the night air on his face. A small smile appeared and he made his way into the building to check in.

Róisín was leaning against one of the pillars in the seating area, looking around at the commotion going on behind her as people hurried back and forth to their designated gates when she suddenly froze. There was something in the air. She could sense someone of great force approaching. A Vampire. And not just any Vampire. This was different.

And there he was. Thick trenchcoat. Pin striped suit. Long black hair falling majestically down his back.

"Could it be...? Is that...?" Róisín thought in disbelief.

Strutting into the seated area, flanked by the bald twins. He sensed another Vampiric presence, old though not as old as he. He smiled crookedly as his eyes met hers. She was very beautiful and clad in somewhat ancient garb, at least ancient for these modern times. Suddenly the two burly men instinctively forced themselves in front of him. He came to a stop and lifted his cane and with two swift movements had cracked them both in the back of the head with it.
"Get out the way you cretins." he snapped at them, his accent was noticeable and his voice was deep and soothing even when angry.
"My apologies...?" he paused and bowed slightly as he did not know her name, though she felt familiar. "I take it Lamar sent you to me?" he asked, looking her deep in her eyes. "Where may I ask are you taking me?"

"Satoru-Sama" Róisín said with respect in her tone while curtsying slightly. "Aye, Lamar sent me!". She had heard of him over the centuries but never expected they'd once meet face to face. She wondered what his business was in Los Angeles, of all places.

"I'm taking you to one of the few places in town where our kind is welcome. Synn City!"

Synn City the woman said, her accenthard to pinpoint. Her R's rolled hard almost everytime. He raised an eyebrow at the words. It did not sound in the least bit appealing to him. But he trusted her judgement. After all Lamar would not send an inexperienced Vampire to assist him. He bowed in return as she addressed him in a favourable way. One that appealed to him in strangers and subordinates. One that he had grown very accustomed to over the centuries.
"May I ask your name? I feel I am at a disadvantage to you." his blue eyes twinkled.

"I am Róisín Ó Braonain. It's a great pleasure to meet you!" she said while barely daring to make eye contact. It's not that she was afraid of him, she just had the deepest respect for him as her elder. "We need to make our way into town. I trust you have your belongings taken care of" she said as she saw no luggage with him. She gestured for him to take the lead.

"After you, sire!"

"Róisín" he spoke back with a smile. She greeted him warmly and with respect. They began to make there way towards the transport and he turned to her. "Yes, Kimiko, my assistant is handling that side of things. I believe Lamar is making room at his office and penthouse for it all. He seemed quite keen for me to reside there during my stay here." he smirked, "I am neither sure if this is a good or a bad thing yet."

The small group, consisting of two humans and two old and powerful Vampires made there way through the Airport Terminal and outside towards the car park. Amidst all the various cars there sat a hulking brute of a car. A jet black Hummer with chrome and black panelled bodywork, for that extra sense of intimidation.

Satoru raised an eyebrow at the beastly machine, but out of respect to his host said nothing and climbed aboard and at let himself be driven off to Synn City.

A few customers had come and gone and there was an unusual lull in drink orders. Molly walked over to Dawn and smiled.
"Ya know, next time we get a night off we should totally hang out and do something." she bit her lip, unsure of Dawns response. They were friendly inside work hours, Molly in particular the only one to actually give Dawn the time of day. But after hours socialising was something else entirely.

"I don't see why not" Dawn grinned, "Maybe catch a movie or something."

Molly skipped on the spot, her excitement not hard to mask. "Oh my God that would be so awesome. When are you next due for a night off?" she asked with a huge grin.

"Ummm" Dawn paused and thought carefully, "Aw hell, it's tomorrow night."

Molly squealed with excitement and hugged Dawn. "Me too!" she bounced, "We'll work out something later k?"

"Okay" Dawn laughed. "We should maybe get back to work, before Jake comes out from the back to give us verbal."

Both barmaids turned back to some new customers and took there orders with matching smiles.

Róisín walked through the entrance of Synn City. She had told her guest and his small entourage to wait in her car outside. She had to speak to the owner, Jake. Being quite familiar with the place she made it over to the bar in no time. She spotted the busy petite red-headed human immediately and approached her from the other side of the bar counter.

"Molly... is it?" she asked with a half-smile. Already knowing the answer but loved to make the girl nervous.
