Abby blinked her eyes open, trying to focus on her surroundings. Everything began to get brighter and more intense. She covered her eyes with one of her hands trying to ease the pain behind her eyes. It was pointless, nothing was going to stop the aching in her head anytime soon. She closed her eyes and tried to focus, fight through the agony. Her mind wandered till it stopped on her father. That just made it all the worse.
get up! she told herself, don't give in to the pain they were words that Logan had taught her long ago. Abby began to think of her friend.
Did he know?" she shook her head slowly, removing the thoughts and refocussing on getting onto her feet.

Groaning as her joints cracked, she slowly looked around the cold cell. Only herself and one other was awake. She didn't recognise the girl at all. This immediately put Abby on edge.

Kira watched the girl wake up. Pitiful. If he had any sort of remorse in her heart, Kira might have shed a tear, but she was a bit too focused on getting out of this cage and back to being with herself. She was the only one she could trust. Didn't take long for her to figure that one out.

Moving as far away from the awake girl as possible, Kira positioned herself close to the lock so that she might have a chance to fiddle with the heat capacity of it.

Nope. None. Disappointed, Kira wasn't able to find any random metal objects to wield. The head honcho was probably smart. That was unfortunate, but would be fun to figure out another way out. "Let's see..." she whispered to herself, "I can..." Kira's head flourished with activity, thinking of what she could do and trying to figure out a way to transform it in any possible way to get her out of here...

Abby paced back and forth, hoping one of the others would wake. The pain in her head began to slowly subside, she rubbed at her eyes and the bridge of her nose, anything to make it go away just that bit quicker. She opened her eyes and noticed the girl had moved out of sight. Huddled away and deep in thought. She opened her mouth to speak, but thought better of it. She had no idea who this girl was and why she was locked away in this cell with them.

The faint sound of footsteps could be heard making there way towards the cell. Abby instinctively moved her back up towards the far wall. She held her breath as she tried to pick up on any other sounds from outside. The footsteps stopped and there was an eery silence. Then the clanking sound of keys. The tall green haired woman from the fight earlier appeared, a sadistic grin on her face. "Only two of you awake. It seems you're more resilient than Sinister bargained for." she held up her hand and slowly eased her power outwards. Abby began to feel her legs weaken at the knees and she held onto the wall for support as she struggled against the waves of nausea

"Vertigo!" the voice of her team mate Scrambler came from the hallway. "You've only to disorient them. Take it easy or the boss'll go nuts"

Vertigo sneered, "I know that. I was just having a little fun. Making up for earlier"

"Pick one of them and go. He's waiting for a subject." Scrambler replied, with a hint of fear in his voice. Obviously that fear was aimed the enigmatic Sinister.

"Hey Blondie!" Vertigo called over, taunting Abby. "Time to go see the Bossman" she opened the cell and Scrambler made his way in and took Abby by the arm and led her out with no fuss. There was nothing Abby could do to fight against Vertigo's power.

"And I thought you listened to the briefing, Logan," Emma said coolly, true to her name. "Anyway, Magneto. What do you have planned then?"

"Well, Ms. Frost," Erik began. Despite the urgency of the situation, he still retained his manners. "I was actually wondering what you had planned for Charles' rescue."

"I'm not quite sure sharing our plans with you is all that wise..." she said.

John unbuckled himself from his seat and edged closer to hear what they were saying. Apparently, someone that they weren't too fond of had arrived and now it appeared they were bickering.

I was cured all right.

Kira's mind left her head for a moment when the green lady was there. "Vertical... or something," Kira thought to herself, "I think that is what Gambit called her." She grabbed a hold of her forehead, in an effort to stop the whoozing, and it worked, briefly, but it finally disappeared when the man took the girl away.

Sighing and leaning back against the cement wall, Kira was reluctant to admit that she had to be left behind with the zombie crew laid out on the floor. Then, the moment one of them decided to come back to life, Kira rolled her eyes, one could only assume who the first person one of them would blame would be.

Logan sneered at Emma, but said nothing. Choosing instead to see what Magneto had up his sleeve. For all his faults, for all his intentions, Erik Lensherr always admired and respected Charles Xavier. Logan put his own personal feelings aside, as his respect for Xavier outweighed any animosity or hostility he held for Magneto. Wolverine managed a small smirk when Emma snapped back at Lensherr. If Emma was anything it was quick witted.

Abby's eyes rolled back into her head, her focus and consciousness wandering back and forth in waves. Barely able to walk, she was being held up by the two mutants. To where she had no idea. There were no visible markers to indicate where she was or where she was being led too. The walls were stone, painted white. It was cold, though enough for Abby to bear. It seems being Canadian had it's advantages.

Abby tried to speak, tried in vain to get words out. Something. Anything.
But it came out slurred and jumbled, the effects of Vertigo still in her system. Suddenly they came to a halt and a door opened with a low hiss and a light from inside a room blinded her.

"Bring her inside and put her on the table" the soothing, yet malevolent English tone of Sinister broke the silence. Then it all went black.

Charlie awoke groaning, trying desperately to stretch out his limbs. "Nnngh..." he stood up, bones creaking. The room was swimming, he blinked, trying to clear his mind. His queasy looking gaze finally centered on Kira and his mind cleared.

"Hey."

He could barely recognize his own voice, "What's going on?" Charlie glanced around at the others with them, his brother...Rogue...Abby was missing.
He rubbed his eyes instinctively, attempting to get rid of the rest of the effects of Vertigo in his system.

He spoke again, words steadying, "Where's Abby?" Another groan told him Erchirion was awake. Charlie gave him a quick, worried glance before waiting for Kira's answer.

Neminna Windom heard every word of their conversation with Magneto. It was unintentional of course and instead, she focussed on what the air around them had to say, trying so hard to keep the air from keeping out of their private conversation.

Kira's mind was blank and staring out of the bars looking for a method for escape.

"Hey," some drowned-out voice came from the middle of the cell. Kira caught the boy in her peripherals but didn't take any initiative to continue any further.

His question, rather, made Kira think of a few unwritten rules and common knowledge that the boy obviously did not know of. The girl had a better idea, with the slight look of fear on her face, but this boy piped up to speak to her right away... wrong.

Regardless of not being spoken to, Kira thought, Why would this person even think that I had any idea what was going on? I guess this is the plight of being the most resilient to the knock-out gas.

A continued awkward silence lingered in the air before Kira turned towards the boy, not wishing to say a word. She wondered what the boy would think if she dismissed his question.... she was mute... deaf... didn't care... part of the enemy. Kira preferred the last one best. Get them to disown her. Good place to run away, and it might even be a good boost to her ego.

Throwing all of her well-thought-out advice to herself away, Kira looked back out of the bars and told the questioner just as soon as zombie number 2 was waking, "You tell me."

Sinister stood before Vertigo and Scrambler, "Both of you leave, now. I have work to do." his voice was cold and soulless. Vertigo motioned an objection but Sinister just glared at her. His brow furrowed and his scarlet eyes burning a hole through her. "Leave" he repeated his order. Vertigo shrunk under his gaze and without a word turned on her heels and began to follow Scrambler outside the laboratory.

As the door closed Sinister walked over to the lab table, where the prone body of Abigail lay shifting in and out of conciousness from her treatment at the hands of Vertigo. Her eyes began to open and attempt to focus once again on her strange surroundings. The darkness became lighter and lighter till it almost blinded her. She lifted up her hand to shield her eyes, but it was immobilized. She tried the other hand, the result the same. The fear shocked her out of the hazy blur and her eyes were now wide open and full of panic. Sinisters face appeared in front of her, he was grinning broadly exposing his sharp white teeth.

"Aaah, I see you're awake. Good, good." he smirked as he disappeared back out of Abby's range.

His question was not answered, so Charlie stayed silent, simply refusing to answer hers. "What's going on?" murmured his brother. Charlie looked at him, murmuring, "Good Question. Abby's missing. And I don't think anyone in here knows what's going on."

"Who are you? What do you want with me?" Abby asked, somehow knowing that she wouldn't get a straight answer. If she even got one at all. She tried again to move, but her legs and arms were restrained by metal cuffs attatched to the lab table she was on.

"It's no use trying to break free" Sinister's voice could be heard, but he was not in Abby's view yet. "They are quite secure. "

"Please, let me go." Abby pleaded in a moment of sheer desperation. The fear only intensified as she heard soft footsteps move closer toward her. Sinister once again loomed over her. "I'm afraid I cannot do that just yet. I've not completed my tests. When I have completed my work, you may go."

"Tests? What tests? What are you doing to me?" Abby's voice grew from fear to anger.

Sinister smirked and laughed a little at her attempt at bravado, "They are of no concern to you. I do not expect your small mindness to understand the complexities of my work. Now, please be silent. It is time to begin."

Kira rolled her eyes and continued to flicker her flame at the steel bar. It looked as if she was going nowhere fast, so she stepped back to the end of the cell and reexamined for a route of escape. Front bars were strong. Cell walls saw no discernible cracks or bruises. She could reach her hand out in between the bars, but that seemed to be the only forward motion any of them had, and, unless there was someone with the genetic defect of making keys from nothing, it didn't seem that their forward motion would do them any good. Nevertheless, Kira had to try, so she walked up to the lock and stuck her hand out in between the bars to scope out the keyhole. This long with strangers in a concealed area was killing her, and, if they weren't so careful, she would probably be killing them soon enough.

Abby cried out as pain shot through her entire body. Her inability to move and the fear and distress that brought only made matters worse. Tears rolled down her cheeks as the agony subsided briefly. The laboratory grew silent, other than the whirring and grinding sound of computer consoles.
"Why are you doing this?" Abby let out a broken sigh, hoping for some kind of answer. Even if it was something she didn't fully understand.

"Genetics my dear" Sinisters voice grew louder the closer he got to her, he leaned in close to her and whispered. "Yours are quite fascinating. Your stay has been extended" he smirked and disapeared again, going back to his work.

"Please...just let me go." Abby said softly, unable to raise her voice even a bit. She continued to repeat this over and over, hoping to reach some part of his humanity, if he even was human.

"I'm afraid that's not possible" his voice boomed from across the room. She heard a lot of tapping, clicks and beeps and the pain began to swell again. Unable to take any more, Abby faded out of conciousness.
