Yeah, me too.
Oh, just one thing Mae. The Jazarat are still an arabic people, they just live in cities. So your charrie can be blonde, but he should be prepared to be stared at when in the main city.

So... Finally caught a minute to do this. Im also adding another Jazzarat. He'll only be around in the beginning though.
BIOS
Name: Mayyadah Hadeel
Age: 23
Race: Human
Allegiance: Jazzarat
Appearance: Blue-black hair; dark, smouldering eyes; and olive-bronze skin - dark enough to not draw too much attention. She customarily wears a tight-fitting trousers, knee-high boots and a white hose and vest. Despite the manly clothing, there is no mistaking her for anything but a woman. When dancing, she choses to wear a pale pink silk gown, and a blood-red overcoat over it. She carries four daggers - two in her belt and one out of each boot top. Tends to have a proud, almost sensual strut when she walks. Anything one does for a lifetime on purpose eventually becomes habit.
History: Mayyadah's father was a fur trapper, deep in the mountains. Since those people seldom came down to the city (and were all men) they developed an odd custom of taking women up in the mountains - as property. The woman would be sold from man to man under two conditions. One, she was would be fine with the buyer, and, two, she made her own price. Through her dancing, and her ability to keep a home, as well as how able she was to ward off men.
Mayyadah's mother had been the best dancer at her time, and she had been deliriously happy with her owner. She died shortly after her daughter's birth. Naturally the girl was learning all about being a woman in that society, and by the time she was fourteen, there was no other woman who was worth more than her. Her father sold her then, regretfully, and for an outrageous sum, to a middle aged trapper named Jrumba. The man settled down in the Jazzarati city soon after. Despite the change in scenery, Mayyadah did not change much, and Jrumba made a good deal of money from her dancing. She is happy with the arrangement, as he gives her a free reign most of the time.
--------------------------------------------
Name: Jrumba Histan
Age: 50
Race: Human
Allegiance: Jazzarat
Appearance: Medium height, becoming stocky in his old age. Greying black hair, and a plain face.
History: His father was a merchant, but the young Jrumba looked to the mountains with great hope since he was very small. At 16 he fled home, only to end up as a trapper. However he was very good at finding the animals and quick to sell them for a decent price. As he began to near his mid-years he bought an older woman by the name of Nafi, but sold her months later, realizing that he had no interest in keeping a woman. But he realized that he was getting older, and having made a great deal of money (he had never spent it on anything significant), he went and bought Mayyadah. After an atrocious year, he decided to retire, only to set up a shop in the city. He loved Mayyadah, but as a niece only, and although he made money from her dancing, she always got a quarter of the pay each night.
--------------------------------
Name: Hanan Inas
Age: 18
Race: Human
Allegiance: Sumbashi
Appearance: Long, chestnut hair, huge black eyes with the typical dark complexion. She's tall and very graceful - from having spent a lifetime on horseback. Wears bright colors, usually red and whenever she can - the rare blue. She does however chose to always wear a blue ribbon in her hair, to signify her rank.
History: Hanan was the last born child of a tribe leader. Despite his status, he had only taken one wife throughout his life, probably because she had borne him ten sons before their daughter. She soon became the jewel of the tribe, doted upon and praised by all. Her talent with horses endeared her all the more to her father, who became more and more reluctant to marry her as the years passed. She is beautiful in a delicate way, but by no means frail. Her ten older brothers taught her how to fight with more than one weapon, something her mother heartily disagreed with. Despite the constant train of suitors, Hanan remains unmarried. She sometimes choses to entertain one of them to polite conversation, in the presence of elders of course, but spends most of her time on horseback, unworried about her future.

Hm, I suppose I wasn't quite clear enough on my description of the jinn. They live in the immortal plane with the gods, not really on the world itself. And they're along the lines of spirits, genies, or angels. They aren't a procreating .... species? group? They were made by the gods, not by each other. They enjoy the *ahem* earthly pleasures, but aren't actually a part of the earthly world. The majority of them are messengers from the gods to the people, some of them are cursed to serve a family on earth...you can have fun with what they do, but their backstory is all going to be pretty similar.
In other words, no death, half races, or assassin jinn.

Sorry, I thought they were a more western culture. But I am right in thinking their women have more rights correct? They don't trade them and what not like the Sumbasi. Also, I'll probably add another guy in too as there always seems to be a lack of them in AU rps. And I changed my bio for my Jazarat. ^_^

Their women can have more rights, yes, but not nearly to the amount western cultures have today.

Then is my bio for my Jazzarat okay? I mean she's still considered property, and she does have the restrictions of society on her... She's just a bit of a strong-willed young lady

Do you feel that there are any holes, Nurr? I'm comfortable playing whatever. The way it looks now, I'll take the jinn I was planning on taking, but is there anything else you'd like to have that you don't?

Okay. Here's my bios. Sorry for the wait.
Name: Maysah ("to walk with a proud, swinging gait")
Age: Unknown
Race: Jinn
Appearance (well, her favorite human form, I should say ): Tall and pale, with auburn hair and light grey-green eyes.
Picture: http://fc08.deviantart.com/fs27/f/2008/ ... tick74.jpg
History:Well, that wouldn't be much fun to give it all away, would it? (aka, I can't think of anything. Come back later and I might have some stuff up)
Personality: I'm not going to say a lot, because I want to leave room for the character to evolve: Maysah is a headstrong, confident jinn. She is extremely curious about the world and the ways of humans. She prefers the body of a female, but hates the oppression. Occasionally she will present her herself as darkskinned and wear proper attire for a female, but a lot of the time she appears in her favorite form, scantily clad (she doesn't get sunburned. Its a jinn thing) and unusually pale.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Kalif Umar Amjah
Age: 28
Race:Sumbasi
Appearance: Quite tall, an average skn tone of dark brown, and slightly curly black hair. His eyes are brown, a bit lighter than most, but nothing unusual. He has a beard of stubble (mostly because he keeps forgetting to shave)
History: Not much to say. He is a nomad, and lives with a rather large group. He breeds horses, an art that has been in his family for many generations. He has three wives (Adiva, Fellah, and Nabeeha) and two sons (Numair, his first born, from Nabeeha. Jabir his third born, from Fellah.) And two daughters, both from Adiva. (Sawsan was the second born and Yasmine, the forthborn and youngest.)
Personality: Quiet and laid back. He is thoughful and slow to anger, but quick to laugh. He loves his family and is all around optimistic.
And because I can't help myself from posting horsey pictures, here are some of his prize horses:
Stallions:
Shaheen ("white falcon")

Melda: yeah, go ahead and do whatever, a jinn sounds good. I may catch you on MSN sometime and discuss other ideas... mwahaha.
[s]Naur: nice bios, just make sure you show me you read all the rules![/s]

Name: Zayd
Age: n/a
Race: Jinn
Gender: male
Appearance: Takes many forms as the mood strikes him, but favors two: a black-skinned imp (dwarflike human) with one eye blue and one green, and a desert coyote. Also, likes to appear human but with grotesque or bizarre disfigurations.
History: Flatters himself that he's behind the toppling of nations and crowning of kings. Nobody knows the truth of it except him, and he keeps his cards close to his chest.
That's all for now. I may add another as I feel the inclination

Here's my bio! Sorry it took me so long *glares at temperamental internet*
Name: Rashad Ar'Ulach
Age: 25
Race: Human
Allegiance: Jazarat
Appearance: Average height, wiry rather than muscular. Dark, short hair and dark eyes. Wears rich, colorful clothes.
History: As the firstborn son of the Jazarat king, Rashad has been groomed since birth to take his father's place when that day comes. He has learned diplomacy, weapons and horseback riding, among other skills.
I'm thinking I'd like to play a jinn, too, but I think I'll wait awhile before I decide whether or not I will.

Looks like that's everyone then! Syneva, feel free to join in with the revised bios whenever.
Name: Kaliq Age: a little younger than the rivers Race: jinn Appearance: generally a crazed old bearded man History: has served Mor'oak, his maker, faithfully
Name: Malq Hamza Ar'Ulach Age: 57 Race: human Allegiance: Jazarat Appearance: a little short and a little large
Name: High Priest Nasir a'Din Age: 62 Race: human Allegiance: Jazarat Appearance: tall and thin, wiry, wrinkled, and white-haired
Name: Da'ud Age: 31 Race: human Allegiance: Jazarat Appearance: tall, large but not in the overweight sense. serious.
------------------------
Extinguishing the lighter, High Priest Nasir a'Din knelt with his forehead and palms pressed against the small rug. The news that had come that day troubled him, and he sought the peace of incense and prayer. "O Mor'oak, who reigns on high and sees all, grant your humble servant the wisdom to advise your most faithful follower of Malqs." He breathed deeply, fingers digging into the dyed wool.
"For starters, you might try using your head."
Nasir's eyes popped open and he raised his head quickly. Everyone knew it was unwise to disturb him while in prayer; they should be devout enough to not even entertain the thought. The man sitting in front of him, though, was no student in the temple. His grey beard, longer than Nasir's own, covered a simple blue robe. Simple, yet shimmering faintly from a light Nasir could not see. Eyes meeting, Nasir's mouth dropped in awe. The man's eyes were clear - not a light blue like the unusual new boy in the temple, but clear like the water in the barrel. He had no pupils, it was as if the body was merely a shell for some-- Nasir's train of rambling thought ended. It was a jinn.
"No need to bow to me, a'Din. Then, as you please." The jinn's voice was raspy but strong. Nasir, still prostrate, and sat up. "Wisdom, eh? Well, you'll have to settle for instructions for that most faithful of Malqs."
Nasir hesitated before presenting himself to the royal Malq audience chamber. Quickly bending to touch the ground, Nasir gave a brief prayer of thanks for the long-standing friendship between the two. Only that would keep him from being thrown out or executed for what he was going to say. The High Priest had been partnered with Hazma Al'Ulach when the prince was twelve, Nasir seventeen, to build a trusting relationship for when Hazma was Malq. Nasir mentored the young prince, survived many scrapes, presided over his marriages, and initiated his sons into the temple. Throughout the forty-five years, they had maintained a constant friendship that kept the cities prosperous and safe.
Two guards bowed Nasir into the chamber. Fortunately, the room was empty save for the Malq. Though he was only five years younger than Nasir, Hazma kept his beard dyed and perfumed and tried his best to be ready to command an army at a moment's notice. This, Nasir thought, would be the main problem.
"Ah, Master Nasir! Come, come, tell me where Mor'oak" -Hazma bowed on an elaborate woolen carpet- "desires me to lead his victorious armies first. North? Or perhaps west, to rid myself of the gant before it bites?" He laughed loudly at the joke, but Nasir could only give a weak smile. A problem indeed.
"Most esteemed Malq, I was visited by the jinn Kaliq, personal messenger of Mor'oak. You are to make peace with the Sumbasi in order to stave off this evil." Straightforwardness. Hazma had always appreciated this.
"What?" the Malq roared. "Peace? With those thieves and goatmen? They have no civilization! They refuse to acknowledge my authority and cheat my merchants in the markets! Peace? This jinn is a trickster-pay no heed to his words!"
"Hazma, he was no trickster. His oath and loyalties are true. This is the will of Mor'oak." Nasir bowed and proceeded to elaborate on the jinn's words. The sun had nearly set by the time the Malq called a servant to the room.
"Send his royal prince in here to see us immediately."

The hour before dawn was the coolest of the whole day. There was not yet the scorching heat which almost literally burnt everything that was green and the wind did not yet have the power to produce the many sandstorms as it used to on the dry plains.
Samarah enjoyed the few minutes before dawn when most where still asleep. She used to think and pray in these silent moments as she was sure not to be disturbed then. The darkhaired woman listened to the deep and regular breathing of her husband and sighed. She'd always felt a kind of threat when being around him but she had other worries of late.
Quietly she slid her blankets off and dressed herself quietly in her usual ruby colored garb. Her thick raven locks she hid underneath a likewise colored headscarf. Samarah sat down on her knees and let her head rest on the beautifully embroided cloth which covered the floor of Najib's tent.
Oh El'shatar, my God she prayed. Please guide me with your grace. Does Najib want me to be with child again? Is that why he called for me again after such a time? Then I beg you, bless me with a son so my daughter and I will be safe. Please keep my Lana safe..
The first rays of the sun now began to heat the dry earth. The spell of safety and silence was broken. Some sort of snorring sound told Samarah that Najib had woken up. She sat up straight in an obedient manner as the women where learnt, waiting for what the new day would bring.
