Lilac sit at one of the tables in the grand hall, her fingers dipping into various breakfast treats. Mostly going with the sweeter things like strawberry danishes, or a lemon tart. Her plate was soon filled to the brim as she sat back and began to eat.

Today felt different than most, and she didn't understand why. Eyes glanced from the other faeries sitting around her to the Queen at the head of the table.

Yes, there was something odd about today and she was going to find out what.

--------------

Drake walked along the path towards the large home in the distance. This was where he was to meet with Queen Aladrae as an ambassador.

"Do you call that lute playing? Do you think it sounds pleasant?" Queen Aladrae leaned forward in her throne, glaring at the poor musician who was her victim of the morning. He quivered under her angry gaze.

"Your Majesty, I seek only to please you..."

"Seek nothing! You don't please me! Get out of my sight!" Aladrae leaned back against her throne, waving him away. "NOW!" the musician, shaking violently, backed away from the room.

Aladrae picked up her goblet of wine and took a sip. She cast a gaze over her subjects at the tables. A warning glance. Put a foot wrong, and I will break you.

The musician collided with a black-clad faery striding into the great hall. The faery, who had majestically managed to keep her balance, gracefully shoved him aside, dark eyes flickering at him for a single moment, before she looked away, considering him hardly important enough to shout at. She strode confidently down the hallway towards the throne.

Aladrae glanced at her as she came closer.
"Your Majesty." The faery woman sunk into a beautiful curtsy.
"State your business." Did she look familiar? Aladrae looked at her with a frown.
"I am come to court after a great score of years," Kathryn replied smoothly. "I seek to return after long exile."

Fool. How can you think to lead your people? It would be better for you to step aside, and step aside now, else you be hurt later on, which I might have to resort to.
Kathryn's thoughts did not show on her face; she smiled smoothly at the queen, polite and pleasant.

Saffron was sitting alone at a table, picking at her breakfast while gazing around the hall. She knew something had happened, but she wasn't quite sure what, she only knew it was something big. She stood up quickly, grabbing a plate of food as she did and ran softly over to another table, where other faerys were sitting and eating. She sat down and smiled before starting to eat her food - someone was bound to start talking about what had happened soon enough, and if not, Saffron would find out another way.

--------------

Damien took a deep breath and closed his front door behind him. It was good to be out in the fresh air - college had been putting more and more pressure on him and he wasn't used to it, he hated it. He began walking, not paying any attention to where he was going, just letting his feet take him wherever they wanted to.

(Mind if my characters meet up with Drake, Pandora?)

Analiese stalked through the field. She was in fact the only feature in this setting that was not beautiful - not now at least. Her fair colored features were pulled into an unhappy pout which was slowly giving way to tears as she looked about the unfamiliar landscape.

She had no idea where they were! She and Langley were watching clouds and then she blinked and the whole world changed.

The tears were no longer held in now as she openly wept at being utterly and completely lost.

"We'll never get home!" She whined out forlornly turning to her brother and clutching at his shirt.

--------------------------

Langley was handling the change in scenery better than his sister. At least, his outward appearance was more calm than her own. He frowned and looked down at his slowly but surely dampening shirt and to the blond girl that held onto it and sighed.

Some girls made crying pretty, but his sister was not one of them. Her's involved a lot of eye scrunching, sniffing, puffy eyes and red nose and cheeks afterward. Another sigh and he pushed her away only causing her sobs to get louder.

"Shut up, Analiese," he said, while his sister tried to stop, rubbing her draining nose on a convenient sleeve.

Now he could think. The man looked around and saw a form on the path the two siblings had found. He couldn't distinguish who it was, but someone was better than no one so Langley began to sprint towards him, dragging his sister with him as he went.

"Hello there!" He called at the faery - who he still thought was a fellow human who might be trapped here as well. Oh how he hoped that they would know a way out.

[sure thing!]

Lilac watched the scene play out in front of her, having to control the urge to laugh as the lute player was chewed out by the Queen. "He should better." She quirked with a grin between bites of her pastry, talking to no one in particular.

That was just the way Lilac was.

Soon the scene changed and the dark-eyed beauty looked towards the Queen to see a figure dressed in all black approach the throne. She was too far away to hear anything, but she watched instead. Finely manicured nails playing with the tulle on the edge of her hat.

------------------

"We are not far now." One of the men beside Drake said to him to which he nodded in return. Piercing eyes the color of the forests and the changing seas stared up in the distance.

Yes, it wasn't much longer till they would reach the castle where Queen Aladrae lie.

They would have to stop soon to rest as they had traveled far without a break, but he believed they would still make it before nightfall.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a man's voice and when he turned he saw a woman and a man coming quickly towards them.

Drake's guards stood on either side of Drake, fingers reaching for their weapons just in case this was not a friendly meeting.

"Hello."

"And what is your name?"

"Kathryn."

"And where have you been, this long while you have strayed away from my court?" Aladrae enjoyed the role of interrogator, but it was necessary as well. She eyed this newcomer with interest; took in the crispness of her long trench coat, the moderness of her black boots, the leather belt clinched in at the waist of her dark gown.
What an unusually attired woman.

"London," Kathryn replied steadily, her dark gaze never wavering from the queen.

"It shows," Aladrae said, somewhat unkindly. "It appears you have been away from court life a very long time indeed. For instance, one would hardly take you for a faery attired so." She swept a hand to indicate Kathryn's outfit.

"One has to fit in to one's surroundings," Kathryn said smoothly. "What disaster would ensue if humans were to discover your real identity?" The question held a lot of weight. Aladrae glared at her.

"You are welcome back to court," she said. She waved a hand at the faery woman impatiently, not wanting to speak anymore with her. Kathryn inclined her head, instead of dipping a curtsy, and strolled off towards one of the tables.

She picked up an apple from a nearby bowl and sat down next to Lilac. Noticing the afforementioned girl had been watching her as she conversed with the queen, she raised an eyebrow and gave a smooth smile. "Have you heard the news about Fryn Adhi?" she asked, without preamble.

Shifting uncomfortablyon her feet, Caitlin gave a tired smile at Joycelin's way. "I'd very much like to believe that. Maybe it was a misunderstanding...maybe is wasn't, we can't know for sure now because it is a bit early and the facts are still blurred...and until we know the truth...if we ever, we can't rule out all the possibilities." She put a comforting on the other faery's shoulder, "Your faith is heartwarming. Do not stress yourself too much on this, I trust Queen Aladrae...I trust her to do the right thing for our people."

Leila made her way to the great hall, where breakfast would be, her unshod feet silently padding on the floor below. There was a slight chill in the air, but she chose to ignore it. Since she had chosen to wear nothing but a simple cotton dress, she would deal with the concequenses. Besides, once she reached reached the Hall she would warm up. As lost in thought as she was, Leila failed to notice Donovan slip beside her. Though his entrance had caught her by surprise, she managed not to show it, merely glaring at him.

"Do not glare at me, fair lady." Donovan replied. "For it is with honor that I grace you with my presence." His grin widened, revealing a smile that was more feral than human.

Leila returned with her own small grin. "Hello Don." She remarked, glancing at her friend. He looked very regal today, but his bright eyes shone with a keen and cunning intelligence.

"I am famished." Donovan complained, quickening his stride. Leila kept up with him, and they entered the Hall. Both Faeries loaded a plate with food, and made thier way towards a couple open seats. Along the way, Donovan noticed the Queen's firey temper and she spoke to a strangely dressed fairy. "What do you suppose that is about?" Don asked in a voice a little too loud for Leila's comfort. She shot him a glare that warned him to be quiet.

*Teh Melda daaaaaaaives on teh RP like stink on cheese*

Name: Leona

Gender: Female

Race: Faery

Age: 238, though she'd never admit to it.

Appearance:
http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt27 ... m/lee1.jpg
http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt27 ... m/lee2.jpg
http://i619.photobucket.com/albums/tt27 ... m/lee3.jpg
White-blonde hair, light green eyes, short stature, slight build.

Personality: Leona is quiet, and has a great dislike for large crowds of people. She stays mostly to herself, not quite a loner, but preferring quiet conversation with a friend she knows well than a rowdy discussion thrown across a room from party to party. Her mood varies, and changes very abruptly; she has a fierce anger that she keeps locked beneath the surface, unleashing it only when the situation calls for it. She is rarely light-hearted, and has the idea in her head that the world is out to get her. She will seek revenge for years, hunting a single target until she has satisfied her bloodlust.

Weapon(s): Long, slim twin daggers, forged by her hand for her hand. The hilts wrapped with coarse earthy wire, stained green and brown with age and wear, the blade itself it inscribed with the symbol for 'balance', something she strives to achieve.
She also has several other knives about her person, 'just in case'.

History: Leona was brought up on a metaphorical battlefield: at the age of four, her family were involved in an accident that proved fatal for all of them; both her parents, and her two older siblings[a brother and sister]. She lay crying by their bodies until they were found, at which point she point blank refused help from any person and ran away for a good ten years; a short period of time for a faery but long enough for her to gain the impression that there was no-one she could trust and that the world wanted to destroy everything she had.
Leona met Kathryn on one of her many journeys, and hoping that she'd be able to help on her lifelong quest to avenge her losses and then make peace with her bloodstained soul and restless heart.

Starting post up in a bit ;D

[OOC :: ARGH. Internet cuts are the worst. Argharghargh. //grumpymelda.]
Edit: because I'm an idiot.]

Light crept steadily through the veiled windows, and slowly Lee faced the eventuality that she had an obligation to show that she hadn't mysteriously disappeared during the "night", although Earth's rotation around the Sun meant little down here in Aladrae's playground.

Leona had no wish to stay alone, least of all during the painfully slow morning, but neither did she wish to be surrounded by many people. Quiet was what she longed for, though she doubted that the busyness of Great Hall would spare her the agony of noise and grant her a peaceful corner, a quiet sanctuary where she could sit and pretend she was contemplating something of little importance. Simplicity was not something she dealt with in abundance.

Her bare feet touched the cool ground; she stood gently as the mattress gave a shudder, and her pale green dress fell from where it had gathered at her thights and hovered by her knees, swaying with each soft step she took, its jagged hem throwing shadows over both her legs and the floor.

The open door let light spill into the room and throw everything into sharp relief: the plain, mahogany desk, used to write letters of varying dregrees of importance to would-be conrrespondents; the bed with is feather-soft mattress and light, silky sheets; the pastel curtains covering the windows, lest the sunlight awaken the occupant before their time; and a small shelved unit that served as both a bookcase and a place to display a few of Leona's possessions: a faded photograph, a chain of downy feathers and small bead-like gems that formed a necklace, and a few other odds an ends that made up all she owned. Unlike humans and magpies, she did not hoarde items. She kept very few things, all precious, all with some kind of significance to her. The picture, for instance, was one of the only material things she had left of her family, and something she would get rid of over her dead body. Her stubborn nature would not erode over time.

The door closed with the thump of wood on metal, but by the time the door had shut Lee was already halfway down the corridor, ghost-like amid the rushing morning. She played with a finger absent mindedly as she walked towards the hall, her feet directing her automatically to her destination, leaving her mind free to wander is it pleased.

The underground Faery world was alright, if you were content with that kind of thing; however to Leona the walls always felt too close, and Aladrae was insufferable. She could list many more, though she would never voice any complaint, lest suspicions arise. Outwardly, she was the shy one who stuck to the sidelines; inwardly she was waiting to tear apart the world that had taken so much away from her.

(Added you, Meldy! :) )

Kathryn noted with a small turn of her head Leona's entrance into the great hall. She gave no hint that she knew the girl; no sign that she recognised her. But inside she was smiling slyly; the appearance of her spy pleased her. For a long time now she had had this agent of hers installed in Aladrae's court; she proved a useful informant. Leona's job was to keep an eye on the faery queen for Kathryn, to report whatever Kathryn would find useful to her. They would have a chance to talk later. Turning her attention to picking up a sharp knife and slicing the apple into slim sections, Kathryn didn't address Lilac again; if a reply came, it came, if it did not, then it did not. She had, at least, informed the girl that she knew she'd been watching her speak to the queen.

I wonder what they would do if they knew I was more than just a London exile in strange clothes.

Kathryn would make a list of anyone who happened to offend her before she took the throne. Then, once declared as queen and appropriate action was taken against Aladrae and the humans, she would one by one make each of those people on the list pay for their offences. As yet, she had encountered no one to put down yet.

~~~
Rose walked down the street, feeling the cool morning breeze send a flutter through her brown curls. The forest was a few miles away; she'd be able to take the bus down into the more countryside-ish side of town. The town she lived in was fairly rural, quite suburban, and it prized many pretty little green parks; but none of them compared to the dark beauty of the forest. She had only been there a few times, but it had been enough to imprint on her mind many wistful memories. It extended far beyond the town into obsurity; hardly anybody came there, and that suited her. The quiet of the woodland environment would be peaceful. Fishing around in her bag for her purse to pay for the bus, she was starting to feel quite excited about her trip.
[Wheeeeeee, I'm officially IN the building. :cool:]
As usual when entering a crowded place, Lee kept her head down just enough to be insignificant to the wandering eye, though high enough that the risk of banging into someone walking past her with uncharacteristic clumsiness. She had no wish to draw attention to herself, least of all when ninety percent of the Palace's inhabitants were strolling around the hall speculating about the events in America. Leona herself had heard, of course; but she'd dismissed it as just another bloodstain on the history on humanity. Just another war they would start but be unable to finish.
Distracted from her scathing thoughts of the humans and their pitifully short lives by familiar faces and voices, she scanned the room steady precision. Lee had a few friends here; but right now she was a little more preoccupied. She believed that she'd caught a glimpse of Kathryn out of the corner of her eye, but did not dare look back to check in case either one of them was discovered, or difficult questions cropped up, or in case it wasn't actually even her. It didn't do well to put thoughts in the heads of those who would spread rumours like a virus.
After a few minutes of slow-working logic, Leona arrived at the conclusion that if it had indeed been Kathryn, she would make arrangements herself; all she had to do was wait. So, taking a peach from a pile of colourful fruits piled high on the many tables, she carried it delicately to her favourite unoccupied window-seat and rolled the soft-skinned fruit between soft, pale palms, wondering vaguely what this life wanted from her.
(Sorry, this is late. Been real busy!)
Joycelin returned Caitlin's smile. "I'm sure you are right. It's all so complicated." Joycelin bid Caitlin goodbye and headed into the hall to join the other faeries for breakfast. She grabbed a plate and headed to an empty seat. She had a lot to think about.
-----------------------------------
What a site I must look like! Trudging through the woods with a camera, a back pack, and a very lost look on my face. Rumors had lead Elizabeth to a woodland area. They were vague on the specifics. This was why she was now lost beyond all hope. So much for showing everyone I was right.
-----------------------------------
Joycelin sat and picked at her food for awhile. She could hear small parts of the murmured conversations around her. They were all about the same thing: the dealings with the humans and Fryn Ardhi. Finally, she'd had enough. Joycelin needed a walk.
------------------------------------
Okay, this part of the woods didn't look familiar at all. Elizabeth had thought this path would lead her back to her car. Instead, it had led her deeper into the forest. Now what? Suddenly, something caught Elizabeth's eye. It was a young lady dressed all in gold and long golden hair. This however was no the strange part. She had wings! She was a faery! Now, what was she to say?
Freja, seated at a table near the edge of the large room, leaned back in her chair. She cringed slightly at the harsh words coming from the Queen, pitying that poor lute player with all her might. But someone had to bear the brunt of the Queen's worry and anger, and when one was in a position such as that, one had to be prepared for it. She straightened the top of her crinkled, dark green dress and played silently with a swarthy-skinned plum. After glancing around, Freja decided that she needed some time outside to mull some things over. Morning never had been her favorite time of day, and there were too many confusing things happening already. She put the plum in a small pouch hanging around her waist, stood up, and began to walk out of the hall.
~~~~~

Kimberly stretched one last time before hurriedly putting on her favorite pair of jeans and a short-sleeved blouse. There were several things she wanted to accomplish today, and it was just the perfect time to get started on them all. Grabbing her purse, she headed out the door and made her way down to the street. Her favorite haunt, a local coffee shop and cafe, was just two blocks away, and she could already imagine the scent of freshly brewed coffee.

Aladrae drummed her long fingers against the wooden armrests of her throne, bored. All her courtiers today seemed quite determined to be as unentertaining as possible. Never mind that lute player; for some reason, he had seemed a prime target to mercilessly direct her anger at. And her anger was orginated from one source alone; the matter of Fryn Ardhi. He was the most powerful faery in America, and if he was no longer safe, then how could any of them call their territories secure? The only way Aladrae knew how to solve this problem was to root out any human on her land, and be rid of them. Any human who set foot on the forest above her underground palace would be killed.
That it should come to this. My bloodline goes back hundreds of years; that humans should threaten the faery existence is unacceptable.
Aladrae had spotted Leona, one of her courtiers, enter the hall and head immediately for a windowseat. There was something about Leona that Aladrae found strange; she hardly ever spoke, and she never seemed to want to socialise with her fellow courtiers. Still, she was just another one of Aladrae's toys, and the queen did not care much for most of her toys; she saw them as a collective instead of individuals.

Elizabeth stood frozen not wishing to scare the creature off. To have gotten this fare and not know what to do was infuriating! Then something surprising happened, the feary turned and looked at her. Now or never.

"Hi there. Um...I'm Elizabeth Dolton. I'm a reporter for well...that doesn't matter. Anyway, I've come to talk to the feary people and ind out about them," Elizabeth stammered out. Not the gracious intro she'd been hoping for, but oh well. After a rather long, awkward pause, she was beginning to wonder if the feary had understood her. "Hello? Do you speak english?"

Was Joycelin to understand this human had sought out her people just to get to know them? This was what she'd been hoping for. Maybe this human could make things right with her queen and the human world. Joycelin was drawn out of her thoughts by Elizabeth's question. What kind of silly question is that? Out loud she said, "Come with me," then grabbed Elizabeth's arm and started to lead her away.

"Um, okay," Elizabeth said in weak protest.

Joycelin lead Elizabeth deeper in the forest and ,to Elizabeth's dismay, underground. Joycelin quickly navigated her way through the maze of tunnels. Finally she arrived outside the queens court. Plucky up her courage, Joycelin burst in.

"Your majesty!" She exclaimed with a quick bow, "I have brought an ambassador from the humans. She will explain everything."

Elizabeth survived the angry and shocked faces around her with a sense of rising dread. Oh snap! This is not good!

((Hope you don't mind me doing that. Couldn't really think of anything else to post.))
