It was an interesting conundrum, possessing both a keen grasp of illusion, moving in a way that the human eye didn't quite recognize, and a clumsiness that made standing still difficult under the influence of sugar. After her little incident with a silly trigger box full of glitter and an absence of watch, Dana stood frowning at herself, with a smile that suggested she found herself ridiculous. It wasn't far from the truth, of course.
Evening bowed her head politely and Eä greeted her, but whether or not the two found Dana's little backfiring prop amusing she couldn't tell, at least until Eä grinned; then Dana smiled sheepishly and self-consciously shook her head again, dislodging a cascade of gold. What do you know, it's raining silver and gold! Between this, Evening's soft applause and exchanging of glances, she completely missed the sudden disappearance of the pumpkin - her little accident had thankfully driven any kind of insane paranoia out of her mind, and thrown a pinch of glitter in there instead. Well, at least she sparkled now.
At Ianto's entrance, Dana held up a hand in greeting, smiled, but didn't say anything. With her appearance being what it was, anything that came out of her mouth -even if it did sound normal - would be odd, and she didn't feel qualified to make an explanation of what had just happened. The coffee sounded good though.
Dana yawned and stretched (causing yet another avalanche of golden flakes) then smiled as Evening brushed her shoulder free of it. Over time she'd become accustomed to keeping such little items as the trigger box close at hand - because they were perrrfect for dramatic exits - but now she figured she'd have to cut back on the action and actually try to act like an adult. That really didn't sound too fun.
If it weren't for the glitter, she would've headed downstairs immediately. As it was, she remained determined not to leave the confined of the shared guest room until every particle had been removed, by force if necessary (it's amazing how fast glitter glue moves when it's threatened. I suggest you try it sometime). Some minutes later, a flustered Dana jumped the last two steps to land in the foyer. The gentle, rhythmic sound of voices came from the kitchen, or what she presumed to be the kitchen, along with the occasional 'mew', obviously.
Rounding the corner into the kitchen, still holding her hat ("Now with extra glitter!!!") Dana looked slightly less sparkly, but every so often when she moved there was a metallic glint. Her hair was considerably more golden-blonde than before, but she wasn't to know that. Picking up a slice of toast as she moved across the room to an empty seat, avoiding the people milling around and the cat that was avidly attacking a muffin. She didn't blame it, of course, because they really were quite nice muffins, after all, and why should the cat go without? Wait, when exactly did the cat get here...?
As she sat down with a cushioned thud (gracefully, of course. *cough*) and scanned the room and its guests, she found herself curious as to where exactly the Horseman had misplaced his head. Crossing her legs comfortably on the seat the occupied, Dana found herself wondering if Eä's pumpkin would be a suitable substitute. What she did not think about, was whether or not that was an acceptable comment to make in casual, pleasant conversation. The toast crunched as she bit into it, and she let her thoughts wander. Funnily enough, she went back to the time she'd been at the same show as a conjuring magician (no, before you ask, he did not conjure magicians, he conjured smaller, considerably less useful things, if that is possible.) who had “made an ACTUAL kitten come out of his ACTUALLY EMPTY hat!!1one!1”. The trick had gone slightly wrong though, and after the cat had wandered off and the magician had legged it off stage - apparently he had a cat allergy, but rabbits were just sooo out of fashion - the backstage crew had been left to find the small creature. Hours of searching and a few give-away 'mew's later, it had been found curled up by the spotlights, trying to get its head through a mouse hole. No-one ever did quite work out how it managed to get up there.
Conversation turned to, of all things, dancing. Glancing down at her toast, Dana reflected on how lightness of the foot was not exactly a quality she possessed. Slight of hand, yes. Grace and elegance? Uh, no. A little perplexed, she did a double-take to look at the toast she held. Apart from the conspicuous teeth marks, there were little flecks of colour in there... “Uh, anyone want glittery toast?” she asked the room optimistically.

Having devoured more than a few muffins, Winter stretched, made the feline equivalent of a yawn, curled up, and went to sleep in the middle of the table.
Again, Violet only shrugged.
"Glittery toast?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at the flamboyant person who had recently entered. She took a sip of grape juice.

The elf sighed, "Normally I would use a paper notebook , but I had some college applications to write. I guess I'll just have to wait till I get home now." A grin crossed her face. "I'm free!"
((OOC: Artemis is going to remain on the floor next to the sofa unless I need to use him as a scapegoat/guinea pig for something, feel free to poke/prod/otherwise annoy him))

Fuschia blinked, and turned to Dana, "Glittery Toast? Fascinating. May I have it?" She reached out for the toast with a curious smile.

Deria cocked her head. "Murdered, you say? A vocalist? Pleasant thought. Personally I try not to think of such things." She pulled out something else from her cloak; it turned out to be a flute. "I keep so many things in here," she said, opening the case and removing her silver-and-gold worked instrument. Assembling it, she blew a note that came out extremely sharp. She winced and pulled a little on the head joint until she had it right. Blowing a few notes, she smiled. "Nothing like a little music to start the day." Replacing the notebook and the case, she put her flute down to her side in one hand.
At the inquiry from the woman who had just walked in, she blinked confusedly, but no more than that. She usually relegated her expressions well. "Um, no thanks," she said, trying not to be rude. "I prefer things like apples." She suited her actions to her words by finding one on the table and biting into it, careful not to get juices onto her instrument.
(I now have to disappear for an hour or so, so to cover me...)
She retreated to a chair to eat the apple in peace, though still attentive to the conversation. Once finished, she blew music softly in the background and watched carefully.

Violet sighed. "Alas, it's true. By a random serial killer, nonetheless. But she was such an upbeat person. I doubt she'd like us to dwell on such things. That was her cat, actually," she said, indicating Winter. "Well, my cat now." She sighed again. Was her cousin's murder the reason she wanted to write a murder mystery now? Strange, she hadn't thought of that until now.
Not wanting to stay melancholy during a party, she decided to jump onto the subject-change bandwagon. "Yes, let's have some music! And dancing, naturally."

The room received her well enough. An query about glittering toast is not that of ordinary conversation, and so it says a fair amount that the room did nothing more than give her a few odd looks. A straight jacket was not the accessory she'd choose at the best of times.
“Oh yes,” she answered Violet as she handed the triangle of crispy bread to Fuschia with a quick smile. It's following me, she added in her head, but no-one needed to know that. “Shh, though, otherwise everyone'll want some. ”

Fuschia took it with a grin, and observed it curiously, "Oh yes. Of course, not a word about this. " She smiled again as she listened to the conversation.

Holly's pointy ears perked up at the sound of the lovely word "music". She grinned and pulled a violin out of her bag (nevermind that no ordinary violin could fit inside a messenger bag). "I play and sing!" she volunteered.

TT had shuddered involuntarily at Violet's story about her cousin...
"I'm... sorry, Violet. That's... such an awful story."
TT looked down at the cat. "This was hers? What's her name?"

{xDD What cat?}
Violet was scribbling furiously in her notebook now. After all, glittery toast would make a very fascinating plot device for her next SciFi about The Kitchen...
"Perhaps we should move out of the dining room?" She suggested, excited about the prospect of good music.
She glanced up at TT. "It's alright, really. I mean, of course I was devastated at first, but you can't grieve forever, you know? Oh, the cat? His...at least, I think it's a him...name is Winter."

Regrettably, the lack of males were evident in such festive gatherings as this. Eä, however, being used to an abundance of females didn't mind. After all, she had taken up dancing as a profession. Now she thought about it, she might in fact have been forced into that particular career since she would rather dance alone than not dance at all.
Eä was the kind of person who took pride in being independant. With the grace of a cat and strong-willed like ... hmm a donkey? Well, not the most flattering animal, but lion would probably sound too pretentious.. But if the clothes was dirty, she'd wash it, if a nail needed... nailing she'd find a hammer and if a murder needed to be performed she'd get out the poison... Wait... that last comment was absolutely inappropriate. Thoughts like these hadn't been on her mind since a year ago... those haunting memories...
Glancing nervously about she quickly grabbed a handful of pancakes chewing hard as if to force any awry thought away. As the music started she curled up in the comfy armchair, balancing the plate on the unfortunate pumpkin beside her, happy as she had finally found a suitable function for the grinning orange head.
[Off to bed again, Monday morning for me in eight hours.]

"I'm happy to leave, if you want" TT answered Violet.
"Oh... I'm glad you've... moved on" She forced a weak smile. "Winter? He's beautiful". TT bent down and stroked the cat. "I love cats"

Fuschia grinned at Holly, "I wish I could sing. But alas, I can not hold a note, nor have the patience to practice playing an instrument." She gave a sigh, "I only have enough patience to learn how to fence, teach people how to land properly on a mat, when throwing themselves off high places and teach people how to properly hold a sword." Fuschia smiled again as she ate a pancake

[ Can't read 7 pages at once guys, so excuse me for just dropping in here.]
Sparkle fell down in a seat next to the girl whom she recognised as the girl she met at the front door. "Hi there sweetie" she smiled while twisting her golden hairlock around her finger. "My name is Sparkle.. how are you doing?" She offered her hand to shake hands, making sure that her bracelets tingled loudly during the act.
She stared with her green eyes curiously at the TT.. People never usually talked to her, Sparkle couldn't find a reason why, but she happily babbled further, completely used to speaking in monologues. "Quite a bunch of strange people around here eh?"
