"Good evening, sir," said the Signora Psyche Zenobia. "Ah yes, food would be most welcome, and I am pleased to hear the cuisine is excellent. I only partake of the finest of the fine."
She then turned her-- most coveted-- attention to Deria. "Alas, poor innocent, one can! Alas, we are all in varying states of decay, and that most deliciously ethereal action-- dancing-- is now unattainable! Ah, but you are so graceful!" Indeed, although the Signora Psyche Zenobia would never admit to it, it did her poor heart good to see such grace.

TT was startled from her position on the couch.

"Are you ok, Mr... Horseman... sir?" she asked awkwardly.

Deria smiled at the guest she had yet to learn the name of. "Well, perhaps," she said. "But at least one cannot get too old to enjoy the fine food here. Or rather, one cannot be too old and still make it to the mansion and be in such fine fettle, that is." She smiled.

She agreed with the Horseman about day's end. She loved the sunset, how the flare of colors in the West brought the day to an end, and how the cool air felt good on your skin. She loved how the stars began to peek out, like silver droplets scattered on velvet. She...

Whirling around, she almost reached for a place where she usually kept blades before realizing she didn't have one. She relaxed and laughed when she saw the cause of the Horseman's yelp. "I suspect you would have been discomforted, but I can hardly say it would have lasted long." She followed him over to the window, enjoying the cool breeze.

"Fine thank you, young lady" he said. "Just a bit of a.. er.. shock you know. Not every day you are attacked by flying cinders" he said. Giving the fireplace one of his best steely glares-which-was-there-but-no-one-could-see-it.

TT smiled. "No, no... that's true. Odd things seem to happen in this mansion, no? I mean, it's not every day you see a man with no--" TT stopped herself, totally embarrassed. "Sorry", she mumbled. "I didn't mean to... sorry".

Yikes, I missed a lot.

Nurrantiel Mashiara wrote:
"Hey PD, daughter!" Nurr tilted her head. "Going in disguise? It's very good. I would have liked to, but me and procrastination go hand in hand..." She continued on the rest of the evening taking notes on various aspects and, finally, decided to head to bed.

"Indeed," Morfinneth said. "I ended up procrastinated a little myself. I...I mean, we," Morfinneth nudged her husband. "waited until the last moment." She looked at Celephinnon. "Normally it is my dear husband that waits until the last moment, there for making us late," she told her mother. "To nearly every gathering," she added.
Celephinnon rolled his eyes. He knew his wife would mention that. He would have made a remark, but he thought it rude to do so in front of his mother-in-law, so he kept it to himself. Morfinneth saw his look, but she ignored it and turned her attention back to Nurr. "Are you enjoying yourself so far, mother?" she asked.

Deria eyed him with amusement. "To be sure, it's rare..." She stifled a grin. "Sir Horseman, did you ever spend time with a fire in a fireplace before this?"

Maeve chuckled slightly at the sight of the Horseman and moved away from the fire herself. She noted the girl, TT's, edge in her voice as she mentioned the odd goings-on that seemed to go hand-in-hand with the mansion. She turned toward TT, intending to finish her conversation from earlier. "I'm Maeve," she said, "Sorry for leaving you without an answer for so long. I do tend to go into lapses of pondering and musing. It seems to be common amongst us poets."

Fuschia grinned, and took a cookie, and munched it in utter amusement. She couldn't help but jump again as the Horseman yelped, but then giggled softly as he went to stand by the window to dose the fire.

The Horseman looked down at TT and said "no matter, it happens all the time. I an understand it must be strange talking to someone with no head.. imagine how it was for me to wake up one morning and find it gone myself" he said with a chuckle.

Turning to Deria he said "I can't say that I have ever done that" with a puzzled look on his... er... yeah.

Just then there was a crash as Eliza came thundering out of the closet from where she had been stabled.

"Ah, it must be tea time" said The Horseman as he rubbed his hands together. "Eliza must always have her tea this time of day, and she always lets me know when I'm late" he added as pulled out a gigantic buket from under his cloak and began to empty the teapots into it.

Violet yawned, stretched, and blinked her eyes open. Funny, she had never meant to fall asleep. Oh well. Deciding to stretch her legs, she got up to explore the rest of the mansion.

It didn't take her long to run back to where most of the other guests were gathered. She gasped for breath, eyes wide, one hand grasping the wall to keep herself steadied. "Um..." She straightened her back, flicked a chunk of hair behind her shoulder, composing herself. "There's a horse in the house."

"Indeed there is" shouted The Horseman over the slurping noises emitted from Eliza as she drank her way through a gallon of tea. "Violet, meet Eliza" he gestured to the horse. "Eliza, meet Violet". Elia raised her head from the buket for a brief moment, snorted, and then went back to her business.

"Um..." Violet blinked, still in a state of shock. "Hello, Eliza."

"She is quite harmless" said The Horseman noticing Violet's reaction.

"Unless of course you get between her and her tea" he added with a chortle.

(Omg! So many pages! I've not been able to catch up so I'm just going to have Beej and Lyds drop in conveniently. Sorry it has taken so long. I'm uber busy with school, but I just love Hallowfest sooo much)

It was dark, gloomy and a bit damp which only served to make the temperature cooler. The cobblestone path through the wooded area lead subsequently to two large gates (very foreboding gates). They were black and angular, more than likely rusted and creaky. The house the run down gates used to guard was even more impressive. Tall, gothic and victorian styles woven together perfectly with the pitch sky and diamond lights strung behind it. It was the perfect horror picture that Lydia, under normal circumstances, would have adored running about and taking pictures of.

But...the dark was oppressive and lights were on in the house and she was cold and stuck with a less than friendly or sane poltergeist who would probably kill her first chance he figured out a loop hole in their agreement. All she wanted to be was inside and warm.

Now, Lydia Deetz was not normally afraid of the dark. Her life was one big black room after all, but in combination with the cold and leering ghost next to her she was all for a bit of light. Speaking of leering, lecherous, psychopathic and pudgy ghosts....she looked for Betelgeuse at her side and cringed when she didn't see him.

"Hello?" She asked to the air that Betelgeuse previously occupied, dragging her black coat closer to her thin form. "Hello..." She said more adamantly, her pace picking up as she felt dull panic rising. The ghost basterd he was just going to leave her here to freeze to death and he'd be free! That was cheating...Lydia frowned and adjusted her black earmuffs over her black hair as she reminded herself that the poltergeist didn't care about fair.

"Betel-" Her voice was cut off immediately, by a less than wanted hand and the poltergeist attached to it was not at all pleased.

"Don't say that," he hissed, his yellow eyes glaring at her.

"I thought..."

"That I left yah?" The ghost snorted at the notion, floating along side the girl as she passed the gates, she could see the doors now. "Think I'm that stupid? I'm gone for two minutes and you're trying to slink out on the deal already," he said with a frown.

Lydia went from nervous to indignant in a manner so quick that it was only achievable by teenagers. "I wasn't! I thought you were going to let me get lost out here."

Betelgeuse's brows creased and a contemplative look crossed his face.

"That's not such a..." he stopped talking and dodged the elbow sent towards his stomach. "Geez, babes. I'm not really gonna leave you by yourself. Like I said, breathers are good for nothing when it comes to deals."

Lydia frowned and stuffed her hands deep into her pockets, she would have made an impressive pout if not for her reddening nose.

Betelgeuse curled his lip back and attempted to change the subject to make the girl less sulky...not that he cared, it was just annoying.

"Where are we anyway?" He asked looking at the old doors that they were now faced with. His companion looked over her shoulder her pale features coming together as she thought the question over, her hand still on the door handle.

"Don't know," Lydia responded, pushing the door open, happy to find it open.

"Great," the poltergeist responded with a roll of his eyes.

"Scared Be-," she stopped herself this time and held up her hands in apology as she caught the murderous look in his eyes. "Habit."

"Right," he said with another eye roll that if he had been alive it might have been painful, he remained outside for a bit looking about.

Lydia smirked and stepped into the main entrance and let out squeal which quickly brought Betelgeuse to her side, looking about.

"Whas' the matter?" He asked looking around the decidedly less than scary room. It was decorated for God's sake. What had her so excited? Oh.

"It's a party BJ!" She exclaimed and the ghost sighed - he apparently got a nick name. "Let's go find everyone."

"I dunno, Lyds," the poltergeist responded. Wait? Since when did he turn down a party. "Who am I kiddin? Let's go!"

Lydia punched the air in victory and the pair called a silent truce until they found out what was going on.

"Hello?" Lydia called out, looking around the corner, the first thing that came to her sight was the figure of the Headless Horseman. Her brown eyes went wide and she grinned. "Deadly-vu," she said, walking inside the room with all the people.

"Wow, nice costume," Betelgeuse said appreciatively, having forgone floating for good ol' walking about the breathers, he stayed close to Lydia though. Just in case.

Holly had fallen asleep on her feet while playing her violin and woke up curled up in a corner, instrument clutched in her hands. She frowned as she put her violin back into her messenger bag, she had to find a permanant place to sleep.

Just then she noticed that there was a horse drinking tea out of a bucket. Odd... she mused. "Where'd this horse come from?" she mumbled slightly, on account of the fact that she wasn't quite awake yet.
