Lydia gave a small cry of protest as she felt Kit latch onto her arm, pushing her forward towards the room. She didn't even know where she was going! Finally the girl sighed and fiddled with the camera in her hands as she was pushed and pulled towards the right room. Suddenly, she felt the arm relinquish its grip and she stumbled into the room when she was pushed.

The goth girl mumbled something about impolite and impatient people, but quickly turned her camera towards the murder scene, snapping pictures as quickly as she possibly could.

Betelgeuse followed the procession of women and smirked. Best position ever, he thought. It did however annoy him that Lyds was being used as a personal body shield. Didn't that girl have any sense? What if the murderer was still in the room and decided to jump her? He grinned now. That could work. He'd save her sorry butt again and she'd have to keep him out for good. Girl was a magnet for trouble. He should know, he was the worst kind of trouble after all.

"To see if maybe we can figure out the "How", "Who", and "When," PD answered. "Kit said that there were a lot of pillows all over... so we're thinking she might have been suffocated... or maybe beaten to death." PD paused and peered in the room behind the people. It was dark in there so it was hard to see anything... which wasn't bad since she wasn't sure she wanted to see anything.

"Beaten to death? With what? pillows?" TT couldn't stiffle her laugh.

"Far weirder things have happened, TT," Kit said. "And they seem to always happen during my overgenerous celebration. Always."

"You laugh at my idea? Might I remind you that someone in that room is dead... you shouldn't be laughing," PD exclaimed indignantly, "anyway, I didn't figure it was with plain pillows. I thought maybe someone put a brick or rock in a pillow."

At Kit's response to TT PD muttered something about Kit's parties and the murders that were always involved along with an oath that she didn't intend on coming back next year or some such thing.

TT shrugged. "I suppose. If you say so, Kit."

Then she turned to PD. "Oh, yeah, sorry." She stopped. "Of course someone dying's not amusing. In the least. The idea of being beaten to death by pillows is somewhat funny, though... 'cause it's ridiculous... only" TT paused, and looked at PD curiously. "One would have to have a sick mind to come up with that, PD, m'dear" she smiled.

Lady Macbeth had mainly busied herself "fixing" all the little things around the house that were just so wrong. This drape was crooked, that frame was dusty, that brick had a bit of an unfilled chink in it. Uppity as she was, the queen of Scotland preferred perfection and order above all else. She had quickly grown bored with the guests, except for a few of the more rambunctious types, and since it wasn't her party she didn't feel the need to play hostess after her first day there. She only knew the guests by name and sight because of her keen ears and her tendency to spy on people, just out of habit and nothing else, really. The Headless Horseman in particular was an odd...thing, and a complete paradox of himself. He, if it was male, certainly looked horrendous enough (though finely dressed, she did admit) but his demeanor was nothing short of jovial. She had noticed the young writer, Nurrantiel, snooping about with her journal, but didn't pay much attention to her or most of the other guests unless she absolutely had to.

Her husband, on the other hand, mingled with delightful abandon once he was sure his wife was off doing something else. If he was to be there for two weeks, he wouldn't subjugate himself to her nagging any more than he had to. So, glass of pumpkin juice in hand, he stood at the edges of every large group and listened in to the conversations, laughing when it was appropriate and making lame jokes (often at the other guests' expense).

It was a rare moment they were close by one another when the news was given that someone had been murdered. Macbeth automatically looked at his wife, his mouth agape in horror as if to say 'You've done it again?' She smacked him hard on the arm, then straightened her dark blue dress - the fifth elaborate dress she'd put on since they'd gotten there - and regained composure, hissing in his ear: "Of course I didn't do it, you imbecile of a man! I hardly knew the girl and she wasn't standing in the way of my - your - divine right, now was she?" Macbeth retreated sheepishly, sipping his pumpkin juice while the Lady went off after the group going upstairs. She stopped by Beeteljuice and Lydia.

"What happened? Can you see?"

"Where's the light switch?" PD asked as everyone peered into the darkness.

She turned to TT. Mostly to distract herself since she really didn't want to go in until others had and, hopefully, covered Nurr up. "whatever. Are you accusing me of something?" she huffed, upset at her friend's tone... then again maybe she was just overly jumpy. When she had a second to think it over her anger turned to suspicion and she eyed TT warily. What was she getting at really.

(I'll be gone for an hour or so)

Lydia was engrossed in her photography, she was no longer just snapping shots of the room and the body, but nonsense things like the patterns on the pillows and there was an awfully lovely spiderweb on the top of the wall. She wondered if the lens had a long enough reach for it. The dark girl hummed a bit and moved towards her goal, standing on her tip toes and using the zoom on the camera to make sure that she got everything. Three snaps and few seconds later she was quite happy with the results.

The girl grinned and reminded one of a dog with a bone. She looked about for someone to share her discovery with and then felt a pang of guilt. Crime scene. Right.

Betelgeuse snickered at the girl's enthusiasm and gave her shoulder an awkward, mildly reassuring pat when she returned to her spot next to him. He was pleased to see that for his troubles he got a small smile.

The two of them were both looking at Lady Macbeth the moment after she spoke, Lydia with a confused face as she shuffled through the new photos looking for something to tell while Betelgeuse wore one of blatant boredom and uncaring.

"Dunno, someone was offed" the poltergeist said while looking over the woman in front of him. It was strange seeing someone dressed like they stepped out of his own time period, of course he had updated his wardrobe a bit over the time. At this thought he straightened the cuffs of his sleeves and fiddled with the lapels of his black and white striped coat.

"Lyds," he said over his shoulder to the black headed girl. When she didn't respond he rolled his eyes and elbowed her shoulder.

The girl looked up quickly as she had once again become absorbed in her photos. "Sorry," she said sheepishly to the impressive woman before her. "I don't know what to make of the pictures I have. Just a lot of pillows and a body. Maybe they can get the coroner over here or something to determine cause of death," she said to Lady Macbeth.

Kit looked back and forth to TT and PD nervously, not quite sure what was transpiring there, so she palmed the nearby wall for a light switch and found it.

The lights popped on from their fixtures above the beds and all the beds were empty except for one, and there was Nurrantiel's body, spread out on the bed.

"I didn't find her quite like that, you know... because I did have to roll her over, and that's when I knew she was dead." Kit explained, looking to see if any of the guests had any immediate reactions. "It's... kind of gratifying in a way. Nurr did kill half my guests last year."

"Ah yes, revenge is very sweet. I did have a friend, a Lady Death, who tragically died last year. It was most unnerving when I heard about it," Maeve said, looking down at Nurrantiels still body, "It is a pity though. I wonder what could have happened. A pillow fight perhaps?" She shrugged half-heartedly.

TT shrugged. "Nah. Nevermind, PD. It's all good. I'm not... accusing you of anything. I'm just... tired. And confused."

TT followed Kit into the room. Uncertainly, she walked up to the body, and then turned away. She couldn't look.

"uh-huh," PD replied to TT.

The lights clicked on in the room. Since everyone else was going in to see the... body... she gathered up her courage to go in as well. She trailed along behind everyone, trying her best not to look at the deathly form on the bed. Instead she tried to inspect the room for any sign of a struggle or anything the killer might have left behind.

"I found the note over here," Kit slowly took tiny steps to the left side of the bed, towards the nightstand. "It was on the floor, so if the killer meant to place it, you'd think it'd be on the table."

TT didn't bother replying to PD. ( ;))

She stood by the wall, watching the scene unfold uneasily. Being in a room with a murdered body was... awkward...

"Or on the body?" PD suggested, "Were any windows open that could have blown it on the floor... that is, unless the killer meant to put it there."
