"Forward, then!" Mist cried, echoing the sentiments of her companion. Bounding forward, she did not look behind her to see if Evening was following, but she knew she would be right with her.

Evening went down the stairs alongside Mist, tempted to chant “The Charge of the Light Brigade”. They were on the hunt for a murderer! Evening had never investigated a murder before, but there were always first times for everything. As they approached the dining room, Evening pondered.
“This room has been one of the main locations of this event,” she said. “This is where we all started our stay. Let’s go in!” She opened the doors and peered inside.

Mist nodded, a sparkle in her eyes. "One of the central locations for nearly everything," she murmured, stretching to see inside. "Again, forward!" she said, in a firm yet almost excited way. "We shall see just what's going on in here, and if there are any clues awaiting us!"

"Oh, I sense great evil in here!" Evening declared as they stepped inside the room. She scanned the dining room, a little overwhelmed, then realised that the unbearable stench was just a rotting pumpkin in the corner.

TT's face darkened when she heard Ea wasn't the killer... who could it be, then? They needed to find out... Nurr was owed that.
Silently, she listened to Mist's and Evening's plan to explore the Dinning Room.
"Sounds perfect to me", she said, standing up. "I don't want to go in the attic anyways" She followed them down the stairs

Mist looked back to give TT a reassuring smile, but suddenly snapped her head back in Evening's direction and reached for her sword. "Were is the evil?" She stepped inside, and her face wrinkled. "It's... it's... aaah, why on earth is that there?" She threw her hands up in the air. "That smells horrible."

[What the heck are you doing at the attic???  ]
Eä stood quietly behind a heavy curtain absent-mindedly playing with a thread from her dress. She had had the need of a little alone-time when the tension rose and the others gathered against her. Making herself physically invisible was not among Eä's skills, however, fortunately dissapearing was. Curled up in the bay window - hidden from the general view but still able to hear what was going on - she had followed Kit's verdict and the subsequent reactions.
Eä shook her head, rather dissatisfied and disappointed that Kit, their dear hostess, had expressed that she was sorry to announce that Eä was not the killer... like Kit would have wanted her to be...
Outrageous!
Head resting on top of her drawn-up knees, Eä's favorite position when she was pondering, she recounted the sequence of events in her head.
She was quite certain that the killer wouldn't throw any obvious clues. They had only been in the mansion for a couple of days, the killer would most likely be very careful and take all the necessary precautions and perhaps even leave wrong clues to divert the attention from her/him.
And the killer had succeeded. They had pointed at Eä instead.
Well, Eä was not the one to bear a real grudge against anyone, however, she was mischivously aware that she now had a victim-card to play against the other guests.
Thus mentally refreshed she leaped down and landed with a cat's grace on the heavy carpet.
Standing in the middle of the room she busied herself polishing her imaginary halo with the most meaningful and very innocent smile on her face. _________________ >>Be the change you wish to see in the world<<

“Welcome to our investigation, TT!” Evening said as she joined them on what was turning out to be quite an expedition; at least in the case of the smelly pumpkin, anyway. She looked at Mist, who had reached for her sword. “Be at ease!” she said. “Maybe it’s Ea’s pumpkin. He appears to have expired.”

Rosa wandered back into the dining room, confused. She'd gotten lost while looking around the house and had no idea what was going on. There was talk of a murderer, someone had already been killed and someone had been accused? What a time to be lost.
"Hello." She said softly to the others in the dining room, being careful not to startle them.

TT returned Mist's smile, and then thanked Evening for her welcome.
Stepping in the dinning room, TT wacthed with mild amusement as Mist and Evening unconvered an old, rotting pumpkin. She was then aware of Ea's and Rose's approach.
TT smiled a brief greeting at Rose, then turned to Ea. "I'm so sorry you ended up being accused", she began, rather awkwardly. Afterall, who would like to be thought of as a killer?! "But... we really had no idea, you know. No hard feelings?"

Nodding graciously to Rosa, Eä finished with the polishing.
"Hello there, come on in. This is a murder-free zone."
She grinned, beckoning Rosa to enter.
Or... perhaps not anymore...
Eä turned and - yes, you guessed it - twirled around to look at TeeTee.
"It's alright, dear, it's not like anyone died... or well, actually.. you know.. but at least none of us were harmed!"
"The mob is a powerful, unpredictable beast once unleashed."
She heaved a melodramatic sigh.
"But no, no hard feelings, darling. I'll just accuse you the next time!"
"Tea anyone?"

TT couldn't help grimacing at the mention of tea. "none for me, thanks"

PD jumped slightly… mostly from Holly’s scream. “What?” she turned around and realized there was a ghostly hand stretching out towards her. She gasped, for a moment losing her head and thinking there was actually a real ghoul reaching out for her. “Oh, Nurr! Ugh, you know you shouldn’t do that,” she pouted, feeling ashamed of her own jumpiness when just a moment before she had been poking fun at TT's.
When Kit announced it, she was somewhat relieved to hear Ea was not the killer… though for some reason it didn’t bring her the satisfaction she felt it should have. She glanced back at the attic and sighed. She had really wanted to explore up there. However, she didn’t want to go in there totally alone and so she followed the rest downstairs to the dining room.
"No tea, thank you. But coffee would be nice," she smiled at Ea, feeling she had a friend there who she could trust wouldn't kill her in the middle of the night.

"Oh I would love some tea!" Sparkle giggled as she popped up behind Eä. "And I never expected such a lovely person like you to be the killer." Sparkle smiled sheepishly and then turned to PD and TT. "Well I must say this party turned out somewhat different than expected.. I think I'll only let Eä pour my tea in the near future.."

After Nurr's murder and the appearance of her ghost, Dana had decided she'd seen quite enough of the supernatural for a while, thank you. Logic didn't work in her head, so she tried to divert the contagious thoughts of solving the crime with simple mind-occupying puzzles and tricks that's she knew backwards but still enjoyed doing. Ghosts were just a bit too weird for her.
Diving downstairs that evening, after hearing that Eä was in fact the only one who could be proved innocent, Dana wandered into the kitchen in search of muffins. You could never go wrong with muffins.
Following the conversation partly as she poured herself some blood-orange juice.
What? You've gotta get into the Hallowe'en spirit somehow, even if there is a murderer going around murdering... murderers...
“Hey, Eä, congratulations on being declared innocent,” she called, after a pause in the current flow of conversation. She tossed a small sealed bag of something towards the woman.
“In celebration, I present you with... jelly fangs!”

"Official hot beverage-pourer... Hmm almost like a cupbearer... although, I do value my life enough to... not wanting to risk being poisoned!"
She winked and motioned her fellow guests to the huge oaken dining table where the tea had been served.
"You are all very nice, I must say. But await the day... fear the day where I must be the judge of your sorry selves!"
Eä placed herself carefully on a tall chair, delicately, like the princess on the pea.
"Here you go, PD, your coffee."
"Did anyone see the cucumber sandwiches?"
She paused as Dana appeared.
"Jelly fangs! You are certainly our official provider of jelly... fangs...
I'll try one, if you will take one with me"
Smiling meaningfully, Eä took a jelly fang and raised it before her, mirroring the classic image of a sacrificial scene.
"To life and good health?!"
