(Haven't got much time, so excuse this pitiful post) Deria emerged from one of the many dusty rooms in the house and wandered outside, making a tour of the house. Upon reaching the garden, she once again heard exclamations. Oh no... she thought. Indeed, more people had been murdered. She arrived on scene, pulled out a notebook, and began to jot down notes before anyone touched anything, shaking her head.
(And she agrees something's up with that spider. Maybe, anyway)

Fuschia smiled wryly at Kitty, "Hey. Welcome to the Party Kitty. Ignore the bodies, they've only been just discovered, Nurr's been dead a while, you should ask her what's going on." She motioned to Nurr sadly.

Maeve eyed the newcomer with the same amount of suspicion as PD, but waved at her in welcome anyway. She wasn't up for more conversation after the discovery of Lydia and Evening's bodies out on the lawn. It was a disturbing find, although she had to admit that the spider seemed to be a most ominous discovery as well.
"Wasn't there a big to-do over spider's earlier when we went to explore the attic? I remember there was a fair amount of trepidation because of it. And where did you say these flowers came from, Kit?"
She bent down and held one of the crumpled stalks in her hand, examining it closely. It's dead form would make for the subject of a good poem, she thought.

Kit blinked at Maeve's subtle investigation skills and realized the questions, "Was there a commotion about spiders earlier? I didn't realize."
She came over to Maeve's side, "But these precious wildflowers were imported from Australia... New Zealand I think. New Zealand's part of Australia right? Either way, they were imported and very expensive, I may add. I'm so very sad that they're all ruined now."

The Signora Psyche Zenobia had spent a very productive day writing her account of Nurr's grisly death. (The Signora refused to acknowledge that most of it was embellished to the point of being made up, preferring to call it "artistic license.") She felt a thrill as she imagined it published in Blackwood's Magazine, the epitome of fantastic horror stories.
Satisfied with her work-- indeed, is there anything better written?-- the Signora gathered all her dignity (which took quite a long time) and strutted towards the garden, where the other guests were gathered. She gave a spasm of delight when she discovered that not one, but two people had been murdered! All her hopes were crushed, however, when she gathered that a spider had been the cause. Oh, the wretched things! There is nothing morbidly romantic about a spider bite. A snake bite would have been infinitely superior. Yes, she would write it was a snake-- a cobra!-- which bit them, like Ceonatra, the queen of Seadryp! Of course, there is something wonderfully horrifying about spiders, which she should preserve. Therefore, it was a snake-spider-- a sniker! with eight legs and eight fangs! Yes! Won't Mr Blackwood be pleased?
And she smiled to herself serenely.

"I don't blame you. They are a beautiful specimen of flowers, and I'm sorry they were ruined. This whole ordeal is a downright shame," Maeve said, looking down at the crumpled flowers, "You'll have to ask PD and TT about the spider. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure Evening or Lydia were around at the time. TT especially was afraid of the prospect of finding some arachnids in the attic. If only she were here now . . ."

"Perhaps even the spider was collateral," Kit pondered out loud. "It would seem understanding if perhaps in the middle of them dying and all, they accidentally crushed the poor, ugly thing."

"That's true. Perhaps I am reading too much into this, as anyone is wont to do in a time of crisis," Maeve said with a shrug, "Do you mind if I take a few of these flowers back to the house with me, Kit? They'll brighten up the space I've been using to write poetry."

Kit blinked at Maeve, because who just requests something like that?
"Sure?" Kit answered slowly. "I suppose I should do something about this, but it's all so sudden and we've not a clue what's happened!

Maeve collected the flowers quickly, not wishing to disturb the bodies any more than was necessary and scurried back up to the mansion. She was in some definite need of some quiet in which to think and ponder the new situation at hand.

The Horseman went down the stairs, looking as elegant and as dapper as he had done before he had a run in with an evil tree and a tragic pumpkin.
Refreshed and in a distintly better mood, he went into the dining room to find there was no one there. "Odd" he thought, but he then noticed that the door out to the garden was open and presumed that the others must be outside.
As he rounded the corner he noticed people were gathering in a certain area. As he moved nearer he could hear Kit raving about flowers and someone mentioning spiders. Listening for a few minutes until he saw them walk away he then exclaimed to himself. "Dead?! More people dead?!" as he shook his.. er... yeah.... "what a pity, are numbers are so few now".
He gazed down at the bodies and thought it seemed a shame to leave the lovely flowers going to waste. He began to pick them, humming as he did so. Then he started to walk back to the house. Reaching inside his brand new cloak, he pulled out a card an quill and a box of chocolates.
He found a vase inside a cupboard and he carefully placed the flowers and arranged them nicely. Then he went upstairs and knocked on Kit's door. She was not in, as he expected, so he placed the flowers and the chocolates and the little card on her dressing table. With a last little fiddle of a flower he shut the door behind him.
"Well" he said with a smile-that-was-there-but-no-one-could-see-it. "She is a very good host, and she should get a little something for her efforts". And he walked downstairs to see the other guests.

Fragile had followed the party out to the garden, and this time managed to suppress her shock when she saw the bodies in the flowers. She listened to the discussion about the spiders and the flowers, but just processing the fact that there had now been three deaths stopped her from really being able to process it all.
"Is there any visible sign of what caused their death?" Fragile asked Kit, considering the fact that their hostess was the only one who'd ventured close enough to actually touch the bodies. Fragile had an unnatural dislike of spiders, and was hoping very much that the death had not been because of the spider. That would mean that there could be more of the creatures around.

Kit paused, biting her lip. "I suppose I could venture a look more." She tiptoed over the bodies, and she noticed they were turning bluer by the second even though it was actually quite warm out. Kit peered all around the bodies, tugging here and there to see.
"Ah!" She spotted something suspicious. "There's red marks all over their necks! They look like bite marks!"

The Horseman overheard what Fragile was saying as he passed.
"Perhaps we need to find our newly departed and see what they have to say for themselves" he pondered. "You would think a bite would leave some kind of mark on the skin" he mused.

Maeve caught the Horseman on his way up the stairs and noticed the flowers and chocolates he had placed outside of Kit's door. "Oh, how lovely of you!" she cried, "I'm sure our hostess will appreciate those greatly. I can't believe I didn't think of that myself." Maeve smiled vaguely and without another word floated down the stairs.

Fragile paled. "Oh dear. ...Do you think it's safe to be standing here? I mean, if there are spiders around..." she inched away from the flowers. "Hopefully the ghosts will show up soon?" As soon as she said it, Fragile realized how odd that would have sounded to those who hadn't experienced such uncanny events.
