I didn't know Holly Short was a real character either... her character might have references to the model plane? Has anyone watched the series/seen the movie/read the book featuring Holly Short?
I can't figure out where - and if - the books play a part.
Take that - again it might be a revenge note. Do you know if Holly (it's Freya Baggins, right?) was participating in Hallowfest '08?

Hm.. I'm not convinced (who had guessed that? )
Holly is a character from Artemis Fowl. I read the book long ago and did some research on it but I couldn't connect anything.
I still think the airplane is a HUGE pointer to either LOST! or Lord of the Flies (or something else). And Take That as revenge note.. I don't know.. it's just too easy.

Also not forgetting for the most part all the murders happened at night, and the killer seemed irked by handling the spider.
Ah, some of the things for Maeve *just* seem to fit, so I'm really not sure. I don't think the flowers thing fits at all as well as the poisoned chocolate bar.
And the revenge note seems so... obvious. It's like the only clue we have been given where all of us immediately said it must be a victim of last year... and I just don't think it is a victim. I think it is the biggest red herring out there, made to make us think it's all for revenge. And it can't be, else why would the killer have carried on murdering people?

Because it's the Hallowfest. The murderer is killing people simply because we have this event. There's not really a reasoning behind it, like "I don't like that person so..." or "I have an opportunity here..." No. You pick a person and you have to leave some sort of clue.
I still think "Take that" (and remember the second "t" was not capitalized in the clue giving) was "revenge". It was the clue to narrow the killer down to a previous participant.

Yes, I know that. In which case when you were killed, it could have been left at that, the start of more killings. But the note (it's hard for me to right take that with no capitals, I'm so used to the band), seems to be have been there deliberatly to make us think of last years killings and who might want to have revenge.
There are very few people who were killed last year, who are still able to be accused as the killer, and even before the last few murders, Maeve was on the top of some people's lists. I am just unsure if it's really that obvious.

Maeve is not on top of my list because of the revenge I as well think that the revenge is too obvious
I'm not quite sure how to fit Kit's death in the whole picture..

Opportunity? Just to throw us off, by doing something no one saw coming?

Yes.. I still keep in mind that half of the clues are there just to put us on a fake track.
So some clues do not fit at all.
The books are bothering me though.. especially the Silver Trumpet (WW1 poetry) and the War in Heaven (something with religion?). Any thoughts on that?

Hmmm.... WWI poetry... religion? Religion could fit for a few people, and WWI poetry is.. strange... really. Why not just a poetry book. I've never even heard of either of them.

I think both Nurr's and Kit's deaths might have happened for other reasons. Nurr was last years killer and Kit is the hostess.... that's unusual enough on its own. There might be a revenge motive but like have been said earlier it might as well be a general revenge wish, as in 'you killed people last year, now I kill you - die'.
I still believe the deaths in between give us the best clues...

I don't know what to believe right now. I just haven't studied peoples profiles, etc. extensively enough, nor do I have time to unfortunately. Based on the evidence many of you have presented, however, I'm apt to believe that either Holly Short, Sparkle, or Rosa is the killer. Everyone seems to be ignoring TT though, and I still think she's a prime suspect as well considering the LOST connection and spider connection. The plane and the tickets I can't get to fit . . .
What's the deal with the tickets anyway? How did they get into Kit's hands? How did she know about them in the first place? Why is she so concerned about them? Red herring?

Kit was given an envelope that Manny found and the tickets were in there. Two for Puerto Rico on a 9pm flight on Halloween.
I think we are all concerned about the tickets really.

Eh, I dunno. We don't know where Manny found them. Even though they are relevant to this years Hallowfest I'm still not sure how they fit. It feels like an odd clue to me. I mean, it really stands out.
