I think it's because we started suspecting Sparkle, and since Sparkle was spear-heading Maeve's accusation, we didn't know what to think and so we just accused Holly based on the fact Wikipedia compared her to a black widow spider...
Yeah, in retrospect we could have thought it out more, but there was other evidence, too!

[PS. That conversation on time zones and Daylight Saving was... mind-numbingly confusing. One thing is that you've got different time zones in the US but why why why can't you decide on at least changing the clocks at the same time????
