*Grins* Yeah, yeah, we know. It's funny to see you guys at it, though...XP

I dunno who Dana is either. I know everyone who didn't change their names (or at least not too much), Violet, Evening, HH, hmmm...do I know anyone else? *Ponders* Oh well.

<center>THE MEANING OF THE CLUES
Hold on to your seats, ladies and gents,
and be prepared to be ... enlightened.

<i>Please refer to the image below (ie. open in a separate window)
so you can connect the clues per her profile.</i>

** Being that Sparkle opened up the idea of using the
Secret Santa Interest Thread to help see the interests
of each member/guest, we decided to use the interest
thread as much as we can to our advantage. So don't
complain. ;) Just blame Sparkle.

Nurrantiel Mashiara's Murder
[Obviously, Nurrantiel was the first choice for a murder because she was the returning murderer
(and because it states rather clearly in her profile that she's never been a clue-giving ghost). And
motive really doesn't narrow down who the killer is. The "<b>Take that</b>" note, (not Take That,
ergo, not the band) was to indicate it was someone who had participated in the Hallowfest last year.
So new comers this year would be automatically ruled out. Nurrantiel's clue of "knowing she shouldn't
have come back" or her premonition was to indicate foresight. TheThain, throughout the Hallowfest, has
a Merry banner. Merry was played by Dominic Monaghan who is in the new ABC network's <i>Flash-
Foward</i> series about people who have visions of their lives 6 months into the future. <i>It is suggested
that Nurrantiel was suffocated with pillows.</i>]

The Cherub Substituted Unicorn Fountain
[I was rather surprised people actually caught onto this one, however fast they moved on from it, but
I was impressed nonetheless! The unicorn was a reference to Jewel the Unicorn from <i>The Last Battle</i>
of the Chronicle of Narnia series, the loyal companion to King Tirian. He and King Tirian retaliated after
seeing a talking Horse of Narnia be abused by Calormenes whom Jewel and Tirian killed. The key number
is <i>two</i>, which is a frequent theme of the clues.]

Lydia and Evening's Murders
[They were both attacked by a Black Widow spider. The type of spider that are found in large numbers in
Australia. The flowers are also from Australia/New Zealand. The fact that the killer wore gloves in handling
the spider was to indicate the killer did not like the idea of handling them at all. That rules out anyone who
did not list "spiders" under their Dislikes in their profiles. TheThain's banner with Merry is from the
scene where Merry pledges his services to Rohan. Rohan of course, was filmed in New Zealand. The red
is in reference to TheThain's liking of <i>cherries</i>.]

Kitty Siggertson's Murders
[The poisoned chocolate bar was a rather obscure clue, which probably reached far beyond <i>any</i>
sane investigator's instincts. Out of all the chocolate bars (plus the Polo Mints) that was laid out, Kitty
chose the Snickers bar, which was first promoted in Germany before being a brand name franchise in the
USA. Dominic Monaghan was born in Berlin, Germany. The sheet music for <i>Many Meetings</i> is in reference
to the <i>song</i> from the Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack. The particular track used violins, which is an
instrument TheThain lists in her Hallowfest profile.]

The Appearance of the Two Envelopes
[The first envelope was clearly the envelope that contained the plane. This clue was retracted because it seemed
like it was too obvious of a clue to point to LOST fans, which TheThain just so happens to be one. This envelope
was stolen back in hopes to be substituted with the 2nd Envelope which contained the two plane tickets, in
order to be more obscure in the clue and to throw you all completely off (it worked). Puerto Rico is to indicate the
destination has to be gotten to via plane. The two tickets (there's that number two again -- two envelopes,
two tickets...) was to refer to TheThain meeting two Arwen-Undomiel members: PD & CB. The time of the
plane's take off (9 am) is to refer to the 9 Ringwraiths. TheThain's status is "Ringwraith".]

The Lord of the Rings Costume Party
[TheThain went as Merry and I (yes, I) went as "Stella". Merry married Estella Bolger after the War of the Ring.
You should always be suspicious if Kit has some sort of obscure connection with one of the guests.]

Fragile on the Inside's Murder
[Fragile was gazing at the stars and came upon <i>Canis Major</i>, which contains Sirius, a prominent char-
acter in Harry Potter. *Kudos to Sparkle who figured that one out*. However, this was a reference to TheThain's
dislike for Harry Potter, not the other way around. The red yarn, the red, of course, is in reference to cherries and
the yarn was used to implicate <i>Mist</i> because she liked "crafty" things. Instead, people's suspicions turned
to Maeve, which was all jolly good for us. Fragile's time of death was put at 9:27 pm (numbers that are found in
TheThain's signature).]

Kit the Hostess's Murder
[Kit's room for the LotR party was made up to be Orthanc, the stronghold for Saruman. Kit was pushed into a well,
to fall a rather long way and eventually drowned in water. Saruman, similarly in Return of the King, was stabbed
and fell to his death off of Orthanc and was submerged in water. Likewise, Kit's time of death was at 2 pm in the afternoon.
The only murder that occurred during the day. And there's that number 2 again. Kit was contemplating the meaning of
<i>All the world's a stage and the men and women merely players</i>, a popular quote from Shakespeare's <i>As You
Like It</i>. TheThain's name can easily be connected to Shakespeare's other more famous work <i>Macbeth</i>
about Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis (and Cawdor), who committed murder of the king (Kit ;)) to become the king.
Kit's input that the killer was rather curvy. For a <i>shadow</i>, if you can see curves on a shadow, it means the person
would be rather tall in size. TheThain proclaimed in her profile that she will tall for the Hallowfest and Merry himself is one
of the tallest Hobbits in Middle Earth history.]

The Books in the Library vs. Pride and Prejudice
[<b>If anyone figured out this clue, they could've guessed the killer for certain</b>. <i>The Silmarillion</i>
was written by JRR Tolkien. <i>Louis XIV: An Informal Portrait</i> was written by Warren Lewis. <i>War in
Heaven</i> was written by Charles Williams. <i>The Silver Trumpet</i> was a work by Owen Barfield. These
authors all belonged to Tolkien's writing group <b>The Inklings</b>. The only member missing out of all the
books is C.S. Lewis, and only two people listed CS Lewis in their Hallowfest profiles; one of which is
Nurrantiel and she is dead. Oh and TheThain likes the P&P with Keira Knightley.]

<b>General themes of the 2009 Murders</b>: Most of the murders were more opportunistic, and if one was
planned, it went rather wrongly. Nurrantiel was suffocated by her own pillows which were provided at the
scene. Lydia and Evening were killed with a spider that was at the scene among the flowers. Kitty's murder
started out as lure, but the killer hastily stuffed her in a barrel upon realizing their mistake. Fragile was
alone in the balcony and taken from behind. And TheThain took advantage of Kit's inebriated state to
poke her down a well.
The appearance of two throughout the clues coincides with the double L's on the "drawing". Although the killer
doesn't actually have L's in their names, it's to indicate whoever it is has a name with two repeating letters.
TheThain -- shortened to TT.

<i>*** I think that's all the clues. I may be wrong. There were so many this year.</i>

^ Yes, but being cruel is half the fun. :P I shall retain my almost-anonymity, thankyou.
My name is tightly under wraps. *is sure someone who knows who she is is about to come and shout her name loudly...*

I missed the end, but if the TT-bashing is still going on I'd love to join in. :innocent:
Nah, I'm nice really. Almost. :P

I'll join you there, PD...*faintly* Kit and TT are too smart for us...

Cherries?!? And I mean, Tirian and Jewel? How were we supposed to even think of that one! And then all these other things... *Gives up* Maybe we'll never get it, if the clues are so complex...

The Merry connections I never thought of... ever. The unicorn thing connecting to Narnia I never thought of either... among other things...

I swear, we need The Dumbed Down Version of the Hallowfest next year. lol

I honestly don't know what to tell you guys. Because people were throwing out clues because they were <i>too obvious</i> so, I'm sorry, but the general goal is to get away with murder and if we dumbed it down you guys would guess the murder so fast and then there would be no Hallowfest, so I don't know what to tell you guys.

Default color is boring. Yeah, seriously... I think that Kit should stop being sooooo confusing and letting us have an easier time of it. We didn't get anywhere near this... Maybe not too stupid, but this???? Violins and cherries and unicorns that are found in 20,000 books?!? And Merry being tall?? :-o :surprise:

*creates a default Maeve voice recording "I KNEW IT. / I TOLD YOU SO" so Kit can play it everytime someone complains about too hard clues*
