“The carriage is here!” Mrs. Jansen declared as she swept back into the room. Cole breathed a sigh of relief - freedom! - and followed his mother and sister out to it. The weather out-of-doors was fine that morning in Port Royal. The perfect weather for a marriage proposal as Carmon didn’t fail to note as Cole helped her into it. The jet black horses pulling the carriage stamped in impatience. Cole climbed inside after the ladies and the door was shut behind him. The vehicle took off, rocking back and forth as it thumped along the streets. Carmon excitedly chattered while involuntarily wringing the folds in her gown as if she expected something to happen any moment. Cole’s eyes were focused on the scenes passing by outside the window. Dirty children playing in the streets here, a old man in the stocks over there, a young woman trying to sell vegetables and fruit there. Something in particular, however, caught his interest. A group of soldiers talking to… a woman? He watched it curiously until the carriage had passed by. Even afterward the image kept haunting his memory. He wondered what they could have been discussing and he also puzzled over why it captured his interest so much.

Liam was not moved by Guinevere's forwardness. "Why might a man not be starin' at something beautiful, Miss Elliot?" the laconic answer came. "No harm is done by lookin'." Again he took her in from head to toe and he decided that she was pretty in a certain way. "I even believe" he added while his lips curled up into a smile, "that you like it... Unless you are offended by someone like-" But Liam could not finish his sentence for the sound of a patrolling troop of Redcoats was becoming louder and Guinevere had pushed Liam and another redhead-girl away in the shadows. He silently watched how Guinevere told the soldiers off and noticed that the girl who’d been standing next to him had disappeared, just like the soldiers.
“What do you think you are Miss?” Liam voice sounded angrily as he left his hiding place. “Or a better question might be: who did you think I am?” His dark eyes were flaming as he was feeling justly wronged. He’d seen through the situation immediately; the woman had thought he was a pirate as well as the other four. It was an easy mistake judging from his sloppy clothes, empty wallet and that he always carried a weapon with him, not visible of course. But Liam, being used to suffer from prejudices, figured there was more to her motives than just that.
----
Sam had sneaked off as quickly as she was tossed into the shadows. She did not care about that Lady Elliot nor about all other strangers that Varianna seemed to attract. Slipping through the alleys she’d quickly found Edward and a halfly conscious Vari. “The Redcoats are gone” she hissed as she sneaked up behind the duo. “Lets get out of here, now!”
----
Will looked at Elizabeth with surprise. “The day we met, Miss Swann?” How could he forget? The day she’d saved him from the cold waters, the day that he’d lost his medallion and the day that he was introduced to a complete new world. Never could he forget the day he’d met her. A tender smile appeared on his face. “I remember like the day of yesterday..”
[ And teh Norrie is coming soon! ]

Elizabeth frowned at Will's politeness, but the frown faded into a smile as he recollected simply the day the first met; at least, the fact that he remembered the day. "As do I, Will - I dream about it often." Her hand wanted to raise to her chest, to touch the necklace that she had taken from Will to save his true identity (or, at least, it semed then - he semed nothing like a pirate now), but she refrained, barely. "But Will, how many times must I ask you to call me Elizabeth?" She pondered to him openly.

Will tried to regain his composure and he glanced shortly at Governor Swann, who frowned upon their conversation. "Just one more time, Miss Swann, as usual." He gave her an apologizing look, but he realised that he had to know his place, especially in the Swann Mansion.

Guin looked at Liam with a wry smile. “Someone who knows what they’re doing. And if you wish to know, I thought you were a pirate,” she replied. She glanced away from him briefly. He had some nerve; she’d just pushed him away from danger, and all he did was snap back at her. Even if he wasn’t a pirate, those soldiers could have easily mistaken him for one. She had acted on instinct. As the pause stretched on, she looked back at him with a raised eyebrow. “Believe me, sir, I am not a prejudiced woman. I may just have saved your life; I apologize most sincerely if you think I did wrong.” She held his gaze, her blue eyes flickering. These were dangerous times. Port Royal was on the lookout for pirates, and it had been possible that Liam just might have fitted the bill for the redcoats making an arrest. She took a further step towards him. “I thought it would be a shame if they gave you an appointment for the gallows, should you have been wrongly accused.” Taking the measure of him, her expression remained utterly neutral, before she abruptly turned away, looking along down the street. The pirates seemed to have evaporated. Absent-mindedly, she ran over what he had said before she had pushed him behind the wall; it was of little significance to her if she pleased his eye, but did he think she held prejudices against him? For someone who had faced injustice in the past, being very nearly tried for witchcraft, this was more than slightly annoying.

Elizabeth did her best to surpress a sigh, but she could not help the disappointment that appeared on her features, taking away the mask she always put forth due to societies' - as well as her fathers' - wishes. She glanced at the door as one of the servants stepped in, silently signaling it was time for the Swanns' to leave. She glanced back at Will, trying to not let any other feeling take over her features.
"Well, then, good day, Mr. Turner."
The words came out with a smirk as she nodded to the man that haunted her dreams, yet barely noticed her in reality, so it seemed. With a brisk and sharp turn, she followed the servants out the door, her father trailing close behind.

"Oh yes, I know I am a very pirate-lookin' man." Liam answered with sarcasm. "Or that's what they tell me all the time." He slipped his hands in his pockets of his long coat and wondered how a Lady like her could end up in this very corner of Port Royal. Guinevere again broke the silence by making an apology, in her own lady-like manner. "I don't need rescuin' Miss," the dark-haired man answered somewhat more silently. "But I appreciate the apology." Liam watched how she turned away, as if ashamed or perhaps interrupted by her own thoughts and then realised that this woman perhaps needed more saving than he did. She seemed lonely yet not purposeless.
"Could I perhaps make this awkward argument up by bringing you towards your destination Miss Elliot?" he asked with more of his usual flair; lights shone in his dark eyes and a grin lay on his face. "Since you are not at the Fort like all the -other- ladies and you seem to be on a quest to save pirates... I might perhaps be of any help to find what you're lookin' for."

(Hehe, I love Guin so much! I’m thinking that when Jack and Will steal The Interceptor, Liam and Guin can be among the charries who join them =) )
Guinevere observed Liam with her usual polite smile. It was more than slightly ironic; he looked very much like a pirate, yet he was not and had objected fiercely to her presumption – whereas Guin was one of the fiercest pirates he could ever hope to cross, and she appeared nothing more than a pretty, genteel lady. She listened to his offer, interested. Her smile took on an amused edge, and her gaze flickered downwards as she laughed softly. Shaking her head, she raised those bright blue eyes back up to meet Liam’s. Did he realize yet that she was more dangerous than she looked? “You are generous, sir,” she said, finally. “What I am looking for is a ship. Could you help me to find one, I wonder?” Her tone was as mild as it always was, yet the words she said were challenging. For all of his boldness, could he be of real help to her? She shrugged her slim shoulders. “Of course I understand completely if you are unable to assist me.” She had set out the challenge for him. She knew that it would flatter his vanity to help her; he had made no secret that he considered her beautiful. This was utterly inconsequential to Guin, but it was useful. It was dangerous to stay in Port Royal too long; all pirates who visited here knew that. Guin needed to secure a new ship to join. Upon her arrival, she had admired in particular the pride of the port, The Interceptor – now there would be a real prize. There was no ship that could match it for speed, it was said. But it would be foolish to go after it. Guin had made far grander heists in the past – her old ship, The Anne Boleyn, had been taken right from under the nose of a noble lord – but at the moment she did not wish to draw attention to herself. Turning her attention back to Liam, she awaited his response. She didn’t have much time. Yet she had a notion that he might actually be able to help.

[ That is a very good plan Goldy Hmm, lets see how to get them there..]
A misschievious grin appeared on Liam's features. The lady was looking for a ship, but not just an ordianairy ship, he fancied. So that would not make her an ordinairy lady as well. He had already suspected so much. Miss Elliot had made up a convincing cover and Liam decided to still play along until the game would end for her.
"Of course I can find you a ship," he answered decidedly, as if it was the most normal thing in the world to find someone a pirate ship in the harbours of Port Royal. "But" he added boldly. "I have my price." He looked at Guinevere with a wide grin and quickly responded to her glare. "Oh no, I'm not a greedy man. But you'll hear it whenever I found your ship." Liam looked up in Guinevere's blue eyes and it seemed he could look deep into her soul. She was to decided to refuse his offer, he found. Liam grinned. "Do we have a bargain then?" he said offering his hand. "Then off to the harbour we shall go!"

Will watched Elizabeth leave and ran after her, but upon standing in the doorway he could see the carriage depart. "Goodbye!" he called after her, but he was almost sure that his voice would not reach her. "Elizabeth.."
--------------
The day had become warm and beautiful. A perfect day James Norrington thought. Today everything he'd been working for and tried to achieve would be rewarded. First off his promotion; for many years he'd aspired to become Commodore. A rank which would promote his own good morals and desire to make Port Royal a decent place, where all pirates would be wiped out and only good people lived. Secondly, he hoped that he would win the heart and hand of the lovely Elizabeth, a woman who'd bewitched him and he'd admired her for a very long time. After the ceremony had he decided, and agreed with Governor Swann, he would propose to her.
As he marched between the rows of soldiers in the Fortress, towards Governor Swann, James recognised her between the other ladies: she seemed to be more beautiful than ever. But Norrington quickly focused again on the procedure of the ceremony in order to receive his new rank in the army.

Guin watched Liam with suspicion. Of course, he would have a price for helping her, and she was dubious about what it would be. Still, he obviously could be of help to her… he could be useful. And when he had found her what she wanted, she could dispose of him. Cheating was what pirates were best at; nothing less could be expected of them. If Liam thought that Guin was somehow different, then he would be catastrophically disappointed. She shrugged her shoulders, meeting his gaze and expertly fending off his attempt to somehow read her thoughts. She glanced down at his offered hand. “It had better be the best ship you can find,” she said lightly. This was a woman who had seen hoards of gold flung at her feet, who had been handed incredible wealth in her time as a pirate. Nothing but the best would do. “I must be able to trust your judgement.”

It seemed that Guinevere was still suspicious of him, as she took his offer but refused any handshake. His lips under his slight moustache curled up in a mocking smile but he did not reply to her. He turned around and started to make way to the docks, his many long necklaces clattering as he went. Upon reaching the docks he walked over to a little black boy, who was wearing a white jacket and a black hat. The harbour seemed almost abandoned but for the little boy who was fishing, sitting on a large book. Liam greeted the boy and sat down next to him and for a moment stared at the water, just like his companion. Then they silently whispered with each other and the boy took the large book and showed Liam a few things. Liam seemed pleased, winked at the boy and patted him cordially on the shoulder. He then returned to Guinevere and asked her to follow him down the docks.
"Behold!" he then called out as he gestured to the beauty of a ship that lay in the water. "She is the Dauntless, the power in these waters. Queen of all ships." He looked at Guinevere, trying to detect her thoughts and grinned. She had wanted the best ship there was and he would show her the best ship.
"Of course," he continued in a business-like manner. "You won't be able to master this baby by yourself, so then there's still the Phoenix.." He pointed to another dock. "A pirate ship.. the crew is probably ashore now, but they will be back."
With arms folded he grinned: "Now, what of my reward?" and he waited for Miss Elliot's reply.

Guin followed Liam down the dockyard, her connoisseur gaze taking in all the ships one by one. She gazed at the Dauntless critically, her blue eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Within a moment she shook her head. “Pretty,” she said. “And all show. It’s not to be denied, it’s a fine ship. But I’ve heard that the Interceptor is exceptional, and that there’s no ship that can match it for speed, not around here.” She pointed a little way down the dock. “That ship.” It was not nearly as fine to behold as the Dauntless , but then the most beautiful ship is not necessarily always the most powerful. Turning towards him with a swish of her green cloak, she smiled brightly. She looked vibrant, and a gust of wind shivered her red hair as she observed her acquaintance. “So, whatever it is you want, you have not succeeded as yet, sir,” she said. “Pray, name your price. I’m interested.” His price had better be reasonable. And if it did not suit her, she reminded herself that she did not have to repay him anything.

"And tell me, why did I not succeed? You wanted to be taken to the best ship I could find. Well here she is.. But since you do not store a complete crew underneath that cloak of yours, I doubt that you could master it alone." Liam's eyes roamed over her figure and then stared boldy again in her eyes. "Yes, the Interceptor is the fastest ship of the Royal Navy and she is heavily guarded. So in your case, you'll need a certain ship and a crew you might join and this I also presented to you.."
The dark-haired man took a few steps closer to Guinevere until he could count the freckles on her face. "So tell me," he said softly. "Why can't I collect my reward?"

Guin observed Liam sharply, resenting the way he looked at her, though her expression never wavered in it’s serenity. With a placid smile, she loosely folded her arms. “Oh, but you will find that I never expressly agreed to your bargain,” she said. “I did not shake your hand, either.” Her eyes went slightly round as if this surprised her, as if it was something she had forgotten entirely. Her words indicated the obvious: never try to make a deal with a pirate. However, trickery did not warrant unkindness, so politeness could still be maintained. Smoothly, she stepped back from him; Guin hated having her space invaded, as he was so blatantly invading hers. “Still, if you think that the ‘bargain’ still stands, then you haven’t specified your reward.” Her gaze drifted past him towards the Interceptor ; she had to have that ship. She needed to get away from Port Royal, and feel the sea breeze on her face. Despite her calm demeanor, she was impatient. If having Liam help her meant that she had to withstand his impolite manner, then perhaps she had to find someone else. Momentarily, she glanced at him. The last man who had acted too familiarly towards her had ended up dead on the day he would have married her; however, despite popular belief at the time, that had been through no fault of her own.
