Sorry that it took me so long.
Here is my blend:
And the song for the next round. I like the lyrics, even thought the song is a bit cheesy
Quote: Kate Winslet - What If
Here I stand alone With this weight upon my heart And it will not go away In my head I keep on looking back Right back to the start Wondering what it was that made you change
Well I tried But I had to draw the line And still this question keeps on spinning in my mind
What if I had never let you go Would you be the man I used to know If I'd stayed If you'd tried If we could only turn back time But I guess we'll never know
Many roads to take Some to joy Some to heart-ache Anyone can lose their way And if I said that we could turn it back Right back to the start Would you take the chance and make the change
Do you think how it would have been sometimes Do you pray that I'd never left your side
What if I had never let you go Would you be the man I used to know If I'd stayed If you'd tried If we could only turn back time But I guess we'll never know
If only we could turn the hands of time If I could take you back would you still be mine
'Cos I tried But I had to draw the line And still this question keep on spinning in my mind
What if I had never let you go Would you be the man I used to know What if I had never walked away 'Cos I still love you more than I can say If I'd stayed If you'd tried If we could only turn back time But I guess we'll never know We'll never know
So, how did uni go for you? My start was quite relaxed, actually, nothing too stressful. I decided to work on my New Year's resolutions and started off by studying hard for my Italian course.
Which reminds me.... I have a few questions and it would be great if you could help me with these.
1. I don't really get the difference between "Che cosa...?" and just "Cosa...?". I mean, you say "Che cosa studi?", but you say "Cosa significa <casa>?" Is there a rule when to add the "Che", or doesn't it matter at all? Could you also just say "Cosa studi?"
2. I read sentences like "Mi piace la musica" and "A me piace la musica". So, can you say both? Is there a difference between both versions?
3. "oppure" and "o" both mean "or", right? So, when do you use which one?
Sorry for the amount of questions. I missed the last course session because I was ill, so I couldn't ask the teacher
Aww, you must have been a really cute chubby angel!
And it's so great you want to buy a graphics tablet! I've always wanted to have one, too, but first I want to buy a SLR camera. And every single Doctor Who audio book read by David Tennant that I can find on Amazon.
As for my exams... they're not that exciting, believe me. I got two in educational science, one in lexicology (this is about how a lexicon is composed, how to determine meanings of words etc.), one in essay writing and one in Old English. Maybe I'm weird, but I actually enjoy studying for Old English
So, nothing too special. I did more language courses than literature courses this semester

Oh, I love the blend! It's beautiful! And aww, 10/Rose. It means so much that she is the last person he wanted to see before dying. Also, she was the first one that he saw when he regenerated into 10. I would've hated RTD if he didn't put a bit of Rose in TEOT.
Beautiful lyrics! I didn't know that Kate Winslet was also a singer. Is she? I mean, the actress, Kate Winslet?
I'm gonna work at my blend during the weekend, hopefully. I just bought my graphic tablet, btw, I'm so excited about trying it!
Uni was...not really stressing, but I already have a test next week. I really have to study a lot, if I want to pass the first session of exams in February, and I'm already tired. But I also had a New Year's resolution, which is passing my exams as soon as I can, so I am working on it.
Of course I can help you! No worries, and everytime you need something, just ask me, I am glad to help (in something that I can say I know quite well. There are a lot of italians that have no idea of how italian work).
1. "Che cosa..." and "Cosa..." are the same, they both mean the english "What...". So yes, you can say "Cosa studi?" instead of "Che cosa studi?". But, you can also say "Che studi?", always meaning "What do you study?" or "Che fai?", which is the same of "Cosa fai?" and "Che cosa fai?", meaning "What are you doing?"
2."Mi" and "A me" are the same. Only, pay attention, NEVER put "mi" and "a me" in the same sentence! Never say "A me mi piace la musica", it's one of the worse (and sadly, more diffused between italians) errors EVER.
3. Yes, "oppure" and "o" mean both "or". You can use them both, but "oppure" is a little more formal. For example, we usually say "Preferisci il blu o il rosso?" (Do you prefer blue or red?) instead of "Preferisci il blu oppure il rosso?". But they are the same really. "Oppure" means also "instead", by the way, sometimes.
I hope this helped!
Literature courses sound really interesting. Oh, you're not weird, I would enjoy Old English so much as well!
Me, only math this semester, which I hate
I can't wait for astronomy courses!!!

Sorry that I'm so incredibly late! I didn't want to post until I finished my blend.
Yours is absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful colours and blending. I know, this song reminds me of Doomsday all the time, too. "if we could only turn back time" - that sentence makes me cry.
So, I decided to make a Journey's End blend - for a change
And yes, the song is by THE Kate Winslet. There is even a DW vid with it on YT:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAkGVn3upnI
Thank you so very much for the help with Italian! It's a lot clearer to me now. Btw, I just found out that "dottore" and "amore" actually rhyme in Italian! I mean, how awesome is that? One more reason to love that language

Don't worry, I know how busy real life is!
Anyway, your blend is amazing! I love the colors! And then, Journey's End is <3, of course. Here is my lyrics choice for next round:
Quote: Flowers for a Ghost by Thriving Ivory You disappear with all your good intentions And all I am is all I could not mention Like who will bring me flowers when it's over And who will give me comfort when it's cold
She took a plane to somewhere out in space To start a life and maybe change the world See I never meant for you to have to crawl No I never meant to let you go at all
Don't ever say goodbye
See my head aches from all this thinkin' Feels like a ship God, God knows I'm sinkin' Wonder what you do and where it is you stay These questions like a whirlwind, they carry me away
And I said Who will bring me flowers when it's over And who will give me comfort when it's cold And who will I belong to when the day just won't give in And who will tell me how it ends and how it all begins
Don't ever say goodbye
And I'm only human I said I'm only human I'm only human I said I'm only human I'm only human I said I'm only human, I'm human, I'm human
Oh, I am glad that helped, with italian. Whenever you need more help, just ask, really, it's a pleasure
Ahah yeah, Dottore and amore go along quite well
Do you know what "tardi" means in italian? Well, anyway, it means "late". When I tried to explain to my university friends what's Doctor Who, they started saying things like "Oh no, il Dottore nel TARDIS ha fatto TARDI", which is, more or less, "Oh no, the Doctor in the TARDIS was late". Quite stupid, but made me laught

Lol, "tardi"! And now I learned another Italian word. And I know I will never ever forget it.
Beautiful song, I love it! It makes me think of DW all the time.
I'll be working on my blend as soon as I can manage.

I'm glad that you like the song! Here is my volley:
I'm not a Doctor/Donna shipper, but I love their friendship

Wow, that's so beautiful! And Midnight, such a great episode! I love the red/grey colour scheme, too!
Here's mine:
I know, Journey's End AGAIN!
These are the lyrics for the next round. It's one of my favourite songs ever, and I reminds me of... well, I'm not going to tell you which episode it reminds me of, but I'm sure you can guess.
Quote: Fields of Gold - Eva Cassidy
You'll remember me when the west wind moves among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky, when we walked in fields of gold
So she took her love, for to gaze awhile, among the fields of barley, In his arms she fell as her hair came down among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me? Will you be my love Among the fields of barley? And you can tell the sun in his jealous sky when we walked in fields of gold
I never made promises lightly, and there have been some that i have broken, but i swear in the days still left we will walk in fields of gold, we will walk in fields of gold
(instrumental)
I never made promises lightly, and there have been some that i have broken, but i swear in the days still left we will walk in fields of gold, we will walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days among the fields of barley See the children run as the sun goes down, as you lie in fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves among the fields of barley You can tell the sun in his jealous sky when we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold When we walked in fields of gold

That is beautiful! I wanted to make something related to the human Doctor as well, but...well, inspiration just took over
The song is beautiful...and is it...New Earth? I don't know, just guessing
I will work at my volley soon

Beautiful volleys guys!
And I just came in here to say that you were in my dream last night, FF. I was chasing you down a hallway yelling "what?" because you had said that after thinking it over, Christopher Eccleston was your favorite Doctor.
Yes. It was an odd dream.

You just SO made my day, Nurr! LOL, I think I just died from laughing.
You're amazing! Firstly, you're having dreams about A-U members. Secondly, you're having dreams about me. And thirdly, you're having dreams about me saying that 9 WAS MY FAVOURITE DOCTOR!!
Now that, that is the best thing I've heard in some time.
Rev: Good guess! Actually, it's both New Earth and Tooth and Claw. You know, the part where they're walking across that field.

Just to let you know that I'm still alive and that my blend will be up soon!!
And ahaha Nurr. I think that you won't ever hear FF saying "it's my favorite Doctor" without a number 10 before that sentence
As me, of course
FF, I was reading a short story called The Last Martian by Frederic Brown, and I read this sentence:
"I'm not just a martian, I'm the last of the martians. The others are all dead, there's only me."
Remind you of someone?" O.O
Oh, btw, I ordered a new DW poster

All right Rev, I'll work on my blend next weekend.
Oh wow, I must read that story! The coincidence is indeed very strange, perhaps it wasn't a coincidence at all. Was that short story written before or after 2006?
DW posters rock!! Which one did you order?
I decided that as soon as I've finished my exams, I'm going to reward myself with
-Hamlet DVD
-loads of DW books and audiobooks
-"The Writer's Tale" by RTD (not that I'm RTD's biggest fan, but I hope to get a bit of background information on DW from that book)
Can't wait!!

Here is my blend. I tried a different style on this one, with lots of gradients.

Ooh, the blend is amazing! I like this style!
I will work at mine soon, I promise. I have my exams this week and the week after, and I'm so busy! I'm sure you can understand. But I swear that I will work at it soon.
I think that the story was written before 2006, but I'm not sure about that
I ordered this one: http://www.allposters.it/gallery.asp?st ... rch=doctor who&f=c&FindID=70293&P=1&PP=3&sortby=PD&cname=Doctor+Who&SearchID=
because I wanted a smiling 10 poster
It already arrived, but I didn't even had the time to hang it on the wall -.-"
I will show you a pic of my DW wall as soon as I find some time!
You've got to tell me how Hamlet is, then! I'm sure it's great, btw. I wanted to buy the Complete Specials DVD, but it's still too expensive. And "The Writer's Tall" sounds cool. I am reading a book called "The Science of Doctor Who" by Paul Parsons, and I've already learnt so much about the Doctor that I didn't know!
For example, he studied at Gallifrey's Prydonian Academy, where his specialist subject was thermodynamics (woo, I've got Thermodynamics next year, yay!). Also, he just scraped through his final exams with 51%, which is the lowest grade possible, and that was his second attempt
I also learnt that the Doctor dropped and apple on Isaac Newton's head XD
Ahah it's really funny
Again, sorry if it takes me long, I will work soon at the blend.
