I feel like we should start an exclusive club or something.  I've only come across one or two other Skate fans here. I've been feeling all by my lonesome, especially since Suliet happened.  _________________

Okay.. so Sayid will be claimed, Locke and Claire are 'claimed'? All by the Flock/Monster-thingie? And they wanted to help Sayid by poisening him? And now Jack took the poison?
Gosh.. where's this going? I don't like the character-claimed0by-darkness-idea. It's too supernatural and even weirder than timetravel and stuff.

Last nights episode was the first episode of Lost I've watched in a long time where I felt like it was just meh. It didn't blow my mind, and I have to say I'm kinda sick of not knowing what the hell is going on any more. At least before I had some idea.
SPOILERS
I guess if they said Claire was infected then it must mean Sayid was infected by the smoke monster, because I believe Christian was the smoke monster before he took over Locke's body and at the end of season four Claire is with Christian.

That's my theory about Christian, too, Banana! That also makes sense with why Christian told Sun to look for Locke, which was then Flocke, which was then Smokey.
I'm not a fan of this whole "darkness" thing. I don't understand it, it's too ridiculous, even for the island, and....I don't know. And in the previews for next week, Flocke wants something with Sawyer. If he tries to kill of Sawyer and take over his body, I shall kill the writers.
The only thing I really liked about this episode was the Sawyer/Kate interaction.  Well, getting to see Claire again was nice, even if it was in the alternative universe.

^Banana, I believe you just voiced the very reason why so far season 6 has been confusing/meh/stuff-like-that to me.
But I don't believe Christian ever was Smokey.  'cause several times he's with Sun and Frank in some season 5 eps while Ben is with Flocke. And I don't think it's possible for Smokey to be in two places at once. Also, they never found Christian's body. And as we see with Locke/Flocke Smokey can only duplicate people... not physically take over their bodies. Also, there are rumors (or maybe spoilers, I don't remember) that Smokey has a bigger nemesis than Jacob. I believe this "Nemesis" to be whatever possessed Christian, Claire and now Sayid. I also wonder are those people at the Temple (who I don't quite trust or believe yet) are lying, on the wrong side or otherwise not holding our favorite survivors interests as their top priorities. I am also wondering... what if Jack's whole "I always fix things. It's what I do." deal could save them. I don't believe Sayid and Claire are goners. In fact, I wonder if in the end Smokey will help restore them or it'll be something like what happened in The Constant with Desmond and stuff... or something like that.
I'm also wondering if perhaps they're reintroducing all of the mysteries throughout the past 5 seasons before they start answering them. I remember the whole "infection" deal was talked about with Desmond (it's why he took those shots every day) and Danielle's team was apparently "infected".
Anyway, I have hope and faith that the writers will pull it off... it's frustrating right now, for sure but... I have faith. Damon Lindelof (sp?) even said to stick with them 'cause it will pay off in the end. (or something like that)
*keeps fingers crossed*
The next ep is a Locke one. So it's bound to be better. Kate episodes are ALWAYS lame. ALWAYS. *points at What Kate Did as an example*
P.S. here's an interesting tidbit for ya:
in season 4's episode The Shape of Things to Come (one of my very favorites, btw) Keamy's men blow up Claire's house. Yeah, I was rewatching that a few nights ago and my brother pointed out something interesting... Claire "survives". Well, perhaps not. Miles makes some funny comments towards her and he looks at her funny. This reminded me a lot of the way he acted around Sayid. So... I believe Claire died and came back. Same as Sayid. Then the "infection" quickly took her over and that's why we see her the way we do at the end of season 4. My mind was just absolutely blown when my brother pointed out the way Miles was acting. It was like deja vu with the way he was acting towards Sayid. Something funny is up with Miles....

^I thought of you last night while they were burying him.  I'm sorry.
...SPOILERS...
But... well, as I was telling SR this is the first episode this season that when it was over I actually felt... excited. You know, the way I did last season after watching the episodes.  So I would rate this one the best of season 6 thus far. It had much much more of a LOST feel and not so much weirdness and mythology and stuff. Also there was nothing surprising at all in it. (that's the power of spoilers maybe? ) And the alt. reality was pretty decent. No complaints there. In fact when Locke was going to the teacher's lounge I just about died 'cause I knew (thanks to spoilers again lol) that Ben would be a teacher in the alt and I just KNEW Locke was going to meet him. So yeah, I was just about jumping all over when I heard Ben's voice and... yeah. I dunno, I just really enjoyed that bit.  It was like "OMW! IT'S BEN! He's sorta nerdy! But it's Ben!!!" And alt. reality Locke is kinda sweet anyway. That's the first alt. reality I've seen where I didn't feel either "meh"ish or "where are they taking this"ish. I just purely enjoyed it.
And the On Island stuff was just as good... better actually. All of the Sawyer and Flocke scenes were amazing. Especially when Flocke first goes into Sawyer's house and talks to him. Just very good. The wall of "candidates" was very intriguing. And Flocke's information about Jacob, the Island, ect was interesting. I am seriously doubting that he's actually a really "bad guy". I'm actually sort of liking Flocke/Smokey. (especially after hearing him tell Sawyer something about himself (whether it was true or not who knows ) I felt sorta, kinda bad for him) Mind you, I don't think he's very good... but I don't know if Jacob was very good either. So I'm not sure. But I love that sort of mystery. That's a LOST kind of mystery. Not a weird mythology/messing with the characters mystery.
Also, I loved all the Ben scenes. All of them. His eulogy for Locke had to be one of the greatest scenes so far this season. I loved the music (LOVED IT) and Frank's reaction and everything about it.  Ben is just so amazing. I was also relieved to hear Ilana say that Smokey can only be Locke now... that means Sayid isn't just another possessed Smokey at least.
Honestly, one of the things I think helped this episode was that they weren't at the Temple. That made it so much more LOSTish feeling to me. 
Seriously, I don't have one complaint about this episode. It wasn't the greatest but it was pretty darn good.

I totally fell in love with mini Jack. David is such a sweetheart!  I have to say that I liked Jack a lot at the end of this episode, mainly because of how he acted around his son. I'm sure I'll regain my sanity, though.
Claire was...  Wow. I'm really not liking her as a wilderness
"darkness" woman. I think shoving an axe into a guy's gut, regardless of who he was, was a bit too harsh. And poor Jin! Now he's stuck with Flocke and Crazy!Claire. I'm really interested to see what will happen. _________________

The last episode [Lighthouse] definitely confirmed it for me that the alternate timeline is more than dodgy. That it's definitely not what would have happened had they not crashed on the island.
The appendix for example. I am absolutely sure the scar represents the one Juliet helped remove on the island rather than the supposed surgery back when he was a kid like suggested in the episode.
David. SURELY he would have been mentioned by Jack on the island at last at some point if he really did exist in the original timeline.
So yes, something is definitely dodgy.
And I don't like Crazy-Claire. One thing I hate more than anything regarding characters is when they all of a sudden turn schizo/psycho on us despite being perfectly sane previously.

Weew finally a really good episode. Most of the ones from this season have sucked IMO.

Thanks goodness we're getting rid of the temple people! They were pretty worthless, not to mention confusing!
Woooohooo next week is a Ben episode, although I will be highly upset if they kill him off.

I actually thought the latest episode was one of the worst. And I usually enjoy every episode of Lost. Not this one.
Flocke, crazy Claire and crazy Sayid??? No thank you. Please be normal, kthnxbai.
There's nothing worse than having characters who have been completely sane and normal all the way through suddenly go schizo/psycho overnight. I absolutely hate it.
I agree that having the Temple people gone is great, but now we have this new Flocke-worshipping cult to deal with.

Crazy Claire is understandable. She had been in the jungle by herself, with the exception of a couple of ghosts , for three years. She's turned into a kind of Rousseau.

I know, but I hate the fact that Locke is not Locke anymore and that the Man in Black/Smoke Monster is now Locke. It's ridiculous.
And Claire turned crazy overnight before she stayed in the jungle for three years. Remember Jacob's cabin? Claire was there with Christian looking all psycho. I think that was even before all the time traveling happened.

I know. I hate really hate it that Locke is not Locke any more. He was my favorite character. Every time I watch Lost I flick off the screen and yell obscenities are the writers..... oh wait did I just admit that  .
And from what I remember Claire was not crazy when while she was in the cabin. She was just quiet, almost like Christian had her under a spell. Now she's all bushwoman crazy lol. _________________ "There's an ocean between.....where I am and where I want to be"

She did have some sort of satisfactory crazy look about her though. I think she was even smiling. It looked like "we're making up some evil plots, my dad and me!".
