Personally, I'm really grateful that posting is slow during the day. Sometimes I can take my laptop to class, but today I had a British lit class, and the teacher is really strict about computers. I actually had to take my iPod with me and hide it behind my book so that I could check A-U every once in a while. But yes, I hope someone else dies. [Horrible to say, I know!] Lucius and I are quite sad to be the only ghosts.

Aww, bummer, TT. I was certainly lucky that the classrooms at uni generally have free wifi.
@ JF: Oo, you would be a particularly nasty teacher then, eh? Don't get me wrong, I don't usually do that sort of thing in class. Most of the time . . .

Oh definitely! I completely agree with that. It's all in the name of the Hallowfest though, and sometimes that warrants some extra effort in the how-to-be-sneaky-in-class department.

Must put in word for my teacher....HE IS THE GREATEST TEACHER EVER.....he has one leg, one lung and likes to make fun of how he lost them...he knows everyone! And my robotics teacher worked in submerines, and worked for NASA. Once when NASA was done with a multi-million three-point camera system, NASA gave it to my teacher. My teacher sold the system to a poor, just out of school film graduate (George Lucas) who went and made Star Wars.
GO EPIC TEACHERS!!!!!

Oh goodness. Everyone here hates Twilight, that doesn't narrow it down at all. Anyone a wine connoisseur? Could have been poison.
Clues for the first murders(Narcissa & Lucius):
-stabbed in the back/slashed neck
-flour
-smell of baking
Second murder:
-wine, Zinfandel(possible poison)
-Twilight(New Moon)
-possible signs of a struggle/hasty retreat(knocked-over chair)
Now, I checked the bios for references regarding any of the clues(we already went over the first murder, what with flour and everything), and there was no mention of anyone interested in wine, but there are two vampires: Damon(who has posted, and posted that he hates Edward Cullen in his bio), and Alyvia(who hasn't posted, and makes no mention of Twilight). Richard specifies hating Twilight in his bio. You'll recall that there was a Twilight-related kill in a previous year, so it could be a copy-cat, but I'll get to that.
Characters that dislike Twilight:
-Fuschia Rivers
-Georgiana Carey
-Nurrantiel Mashiara
-Pandemonium
-TheThain
Characters that mention cooking/food:
-Lady White Night
-Candice B. Furreal
-Marie Antoinette
-Mrs. Lovett
Characters that mention Harry Potter(minus the victims):
-Fuschia Rivers
-Pandemonium
There don't seem to be many connections between the victims as of yet. M.O. was different in all cases.
On Zinfandel(the wine), from Wikipedia:
Quote: Zinfandel is a variety of red grape planted in over 10 percent of California vineyards.[1] DNA fingerprinting revealed that it is genetically equivalent to the Croatian grape Crljenak Kaštelanski, and also the Primitivo variety traditionally grown in the "heel" of Italy, where it was introduced in the 18th century. The grape found its way to the United States in the mid-19th century, and became known by variations of the name "Zinfandel", a name of uncertain origin. The grapes typically produce a robust red wine, although a semi-sweet rosé (blush-style) wine called White Zinfandel has six times the sales of the red wine in the United States.[2] The grape's high sugar content can be fermented into levels of alcohol exceeding 15 percent.[3]
(I mention this because it seemed like a strange thing to be specific for)
Bullet notes on Zinfandel:
-Originally European(Italy), now mainly in California
-Lots of references in newspapers/magazines
-Croatian grape cousin Crljenak Kaštelanski
That's pretty much what I've got so far. I'll post more as I think on it.

Most likely about half of us are from the US, if not more. I don't think focusing on location will really be a helpful factor.
I would guess the Twilight could be because Richard hates it? The wine is probably more what we should go on. Grapes suggest Damon to me, but Lady White Night is in those two categories.

We did have a Twilight refererence one year... Nurr, didn't you kill by Twilight books?
Of course you're all free to accuse me, but I just re-read my own profile and I can't for the life of me (don't you just love the morbid punning ) see where you get that White Night dislikes Twilight... where did I mention Twilight at all??
By the way, we still need the murder details from Kit and the clues from Richard before we are able to get a more complete picture of the incident.
I agree that the wine must be a clue. And the murderer knew we would google it and figure out what Marie just posted... and still it makes no sense to me. The description mentions a couple of different places (California, Croatia, Italy and USA)and the character of the wine (a robust, red wine)...?
[Oh, and I did read through all the pages about the accusing and voting. Hilarious! ]

I thought that the "a half empty glass, now slightly cracked from the fall but not entirely broken" might be relevant since it was so extensively described. I mean it's just a broken glass.
So I found that there's a movie from 2003 called the Shattered Glass with Hayde Christensen in it.
"The true story of a young journalist who fell from grace when it was found he had fabricated over half of his articles. "
Farfetched or not ,I think we might look to all the writers and journalists as well:
- Tar Samara
- Nurr
- Pandemonium
- Psyche Zenobia
- Richard

If we're going with finding clues for White Night, I'll point out that the white version of Zinfandel sells a lot more in the U.S. But that's a tenuous connection at best.
Does anyone mention liking Twilight? Because the fact that the book was in the room seems to imply more than someone liked it than that they hated it.
Though I do think that's probably more of a red herring. I also wonder if the cracked glass is significant. It seems too specific to be irrelevant, (unless it's another red herring).

Just speaking in the HH's Buddhist sayings: "Everything is a herring and nothing is a herring. "
I did now carefully read Lady White Night's bio and there were some remarklable things in there:
- Her husband tragically died by falling off a cliff (Classical example of murder? )
- She likes to : "sneaking around stealthily in the twilight, dancing gracefully in the moonlight"
(somehow I think that could be Twilight references. Twilight and Moon in one bio.)
- Lady White Night is a typical innocent character
- That immediately makes her dislike of her own cooking so suspicious..
