Maybe it's a special kind of glass?

If there is ever wine involved, Damon is always going to be considered as he is always mentioning grapes.... but all wines are made from grapes so this one is no different.

I agree, with the Twilight lover. He wasn't killed with the book, it could be that someone was in fact reading it instead.

We definitely need Richard's perspective on this.

^Yes. Richard's perspective would definitely help.

I agree that Damon should be considered as well. His profile mentions Twilight, and though he doesn't like it, there is a distinct vampire connection. And there are the grapes...

So White Night and Damon are the current ones I'm looking at.

I'm going to hold judgment until we have our clues from Richard, and the time of death.

Three things came to my mind when reading Kit's post:

1: Joker - the face drawn on the covering of Morfindes, kinda like Brian in TDK and the grinning expression, and also wrapped up, he was tied up but still
2: Shelob - the way the body was wrapped up like that, as if to emulate spiders webs
3: Halloween - again to do with how the body was wrapped up, is like those decorations you can get you're meant to hang from the ceiling and it looks like a cobwebbed body

I was immediately reminded of Egypt, because of the mummies.. but a spider could work as well. :P

....... shows how obsessed I am with films then, because I never once thought of that! Maybe the grinning face is like their death masks they had.... hmm....

Alright, who likes Egypt? :P

Well.. it came to my mind since I'm a part of a kind of student assoiation which is named after an Egyptian Farao. And whenever one of the members graduate, they are wrapped in toilet paper and become "mummies" (non-active members). :P

No, but once again, Lady White Night loves travelling the world.

So perhaps this murder points to Egypt and that of Richard to California/Italy?

Drat, I thought I had something there for a second. Going with the HH thought about the body of Morfindes being wrapped to resemble spider webs and knowing that New Moon was found near Richard, I looked at their dislikes. I saw that that Morfindes didn't like spiders and Richard didn't like Twilight. I thought maybe people were being killed by the things they disliked, but I couldn't make it work for Narcissa. Over thinking things again I guess.

*is taken out of thought by Sparkle's comment*

That is right. I hadn't thought of traveling. But how would Narcissa death fit in?

Haha interesting to see on what grounds people are accusing... me. :P

Anyway, I thought of our historian Georgiana because of the wrapped up/mummy part.

Otherwise there might be a theme of dislikes... many of the bios state that people don't like spiders and Twilight.. could that be a 'recurrent' clue?
Narcissa's murder clue could have something to do with .. err.. a dislike of Harry Potter... or something... or a revenge theme.. with the stabbing in the back...

I don't know enough of the Twilight series/movies to see what kind of connection there might be there.

I can't help thinking of a certain Headless someone who is looking for his head when reading the clue about the painted face... :P

I don't have a lot of time, but here's my theory. (Important connections highlighted in bold font.)

Quote:
Name: Fragile
Profession: Wandering musician
Hobbies: Singing, playing guitar, writing poems and lyrics, drinking absurd amounts of coffee
Favorites: Lord of the Rings, The Dark Knight, the bands Skillet and Switchfoot, Frodo, Boromir, Galadriel, Firefly, night time, good poetry, winter, rainy days, Sharpies
Dislikes: Pop music, pink, too much sunlight

Morfindes's Death
- Wrapped in paper towels: Going off of JF's theories, this is a reference to Shelob from LotR and/or The Dark Knight. Fragile likes both.
- Grinning face drawn: Fragile likes Sharpies! Also refers to the Joker from The Dark Knight.

Richard's Death
- New Moon: I have a feeling (vague, I know!) that this is more of a reference to a time of day or moonlight or something rather than Twilight. I don't know, I feel like if it was a clue towards Twilight it would have been Twilight and not New Moon. So: my theory is that is it refers to night time, listed in Fragile's likes.
- Zinfandel wine: Red wine; red herring.
(Though 1974 might be significant.... I looked it up, and the most you would age red Zinfandel is 2-6 years. So, this is a very old and probably undrinkable bottle of wine! The date might be the clue, rather than the wine. Or this Hallowfest could be taking place in 1979. Far out, dude!! :teehee:)

The Malfoy's Deaths
- Scattered flour: Could be a reference to snow and winter.
- Smell of bread: This also makes me think of winter for some reason, although it could just be me.
(I actually thought of these two before, but I decided it was too far fetched. :P And maybe it is!)

Anyway, those are my theories and opinions. I like Will's case for Lady White Night a lot, too, though. :) My first thought about the toilet paper was also mummies, but then I read JF's theories and it made me think The Dark Knight would be much more likely in this crowd. ;) Still, I guess it could be traveling the world... What about ancient/old things? Georgiana is a historian, and Tar-Samara and TheThain (oh no! not again?! :teehee:) like history in general. Some other people also like history, but they refer to specific eras that have nothing to do with ancient Egypt.

Wow, this is actually the first time I’ve ever been thought of as a suspect in the Hallowfest!
Just to leap to my defence, in my bio I’ve specified that the period in history I’m interested in is the Tudors. ^_^

I'm still leaning towards White Night. If we're going to say the wrapping is a sort of spider reference, then that matches with White Night (who does not like spiders).

However, the grinning face puts me a a loss. That's really hard to make any good connections with. Does anyone mention disliking happy people or something? :-P

I think Psyche is on to something with New Moon as opposed to Twilight. Whether it's about the series, or the specific time of nighttime.

Commenting on Psyche's brilliant analysis:
The Dark Knight reference makes mucho sense.
But I also still think it could be a reference to The Headless Horseman who is constantly "Seeking to find that which was lost.....
I still have an intuitive feeling that The Horseman finally may be up to something! :P

Going along with the dislike theme I thought of toilet paper as something that might be seen as eww and unclean, something you dispose of, like Morfindes was being disposed of.
Richard might have been reading Twilight, which the murderer dislikes. Or the murderer has placed the Twilight book there because he/she dislikes it so much.
Narcissa was stabbed in the back - backstabbing - something you do to people you don't like.

New Moon... it's a little far-fetched but a new moon indicates a new beginning.. maybe a new chapter in a book. We have a couple of writers/journalists.
- Fragile
- Fuschia Rivers
- Nurrantiel
- Pandemonium
- Psyche Zenobia
- Tar-Samara

Zinfandel 1974... what on Earth is Zinfandel? I think the number might significant... :)

The flour.. I came to think of detectives.. they use.. that kind of stuff to find fingerprints.

And the smell of bread might still be a reference to
- Marie Antoinette
- Sparkle

I'm thinking Marie Antoinette because a lot of things seemed to fit with her from the first murder.
And Fragile based on Psyche's analysis.

The only thing I am really happy to say I'm almost certain of, and this is a bold statement I know, is the Joker reference. Maybe I have too many Joker items dotted around my house, but the grinning face drawn onto a DEAD BODIES COVERING.... just screams ... let's put a smile on that face...
