The Adventures of Merlin - The Dragon's Call

Kinda like Uther... he's a man of power, it's intriguingly attractive. :P

Alright alright, I admit "like" wasn't the best way to describe it. But I'd still say "intriguingly attractive". :P
I saw a couple of the episodes of the show when they first started showing it here but I just couldn't stand Arthur being such an arrogant brat... and sometimes the plot tends to repeat itself too much in stead of focusing on the development of characters... like we have yet another evil sorcerer trying to kill poor unknowing Arthur and Merlin comes to his rescue yadda yadda...
I kind of like episode one and two that I have just seen (again) because they establish the characters and their power relations and the whole duty-issue. Yes, Uther is a stone-faced father who never shows emotion but hey he's got a kingdom to run and he's had pretty bad experiences with magic in the past - the man's got a history. Arthur is a spoiled brat who thinks he's better than anyone else - and yes, true, he is the Prince and has been brought up this way but he also has to live up to codes of honour and duty - and his father's unfulfillable expectations...

Well, let me just say that Arthur gets a lot more likeable, and Uther gets a lot LESS likeable. Arthur starts out as a prat, but as his character develops more [s]he'll still be a prat[/s] you'll start seeing how much he really cares about people. And you'll see how little Uther cares about anyone but himself.

ANYWAY

Doctor Who: Midnight
Doctor Who: The End of Time Part 1 & 2
Doctor Who: The Time of the Angels & Flesh and Stone
Doctor Who: Vampires of Venice

...I'm making a day of it. I started out with some favorite Tennant and am now booking my way through Season 5.

Although, if you're strange like me and love it when characters have complexity you'll still like Uther. Because there's a lot of layering and things with him and his past. "Like" is again a bad word, but I find him really interesting. I enjoy seeing his scenes, I'll put it that way.

Haha, way to make me sound like I'm a putz, Nurr. :P Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Anthony. And he is the most brilliant actor on the show. But you don't LIKE Uther. You're not supposed to. He's a jerk.

I'm still watching Doctor Who. I haven't made much progress, though, because I keep getting sidetracked with the internet.

Aw, I totally didn't mean it that way. I'm sure you know that. :innocent: But true. Liking Uther is out of the question. Being interested in Uther is totally okay, but no liking. We like Merlin. And his friends. And no matter how many times he saves Uther's life, they're not friends. :teehee:

Watched the Colts win today. About ready to watch the Packers pullitoutwithoutRodgersbutthey'llprobablynotmakeit.
